Onion Samosa(3)

My new Dosa place! Small self serve vegetarian restaurant. You place your order on the kiosk grab a number and sit for buzzer to light up. I got the ghee dosa today and it was huge as long as my arm and nice and crispy. I didn't realize it didn't come with the potato masala filling so had to order that on the side and loved it! I liked that it wasn't overly spiced. I also got the Onion samosa it was ok. To wash everything down I got the masala tea. Not sure if it was already sweetened or they added sugar for me. It was too sweet for me to drink. That was my only complaint.

This is an amazing Indian restaurant that serves dosas, idlis, and vada. We have been here twice and we absolutely love the food. Both the times we got their paneer dosa, which is absolutely delicious. And we got idlis, which are really soft and vadas, which are really nice and crispy. Overall, the food is so amazing that everything tastes good, sambhar tastes amazing and the chutneys are delicious. Overall great food. The place is nice and clean and the spot does get filled up quickly during peak hours. You usually order at the kiosk, they give you a buzzer and you pick up the food when the buzzer rings. The staff is nice and friendly. I am glad that we have a nice spot to get some good south Indian food here in Milpitas area.

Was here for a chore and decided to try them. Ordered variety of dosa and they are just okay. Got a coffee and a Masala tea. Both are watered down. Podi Benne dosa was so crisp that i would never order it again. Such a bummer that can't live up to their business name.

We were intrigued by the live parotta station at this place. So we want try it when we were in the area. Sorry forgot take pictures of the Parotta and the station. But u have them in other reviews. This is next coconut hill Indian grocery store with love Parotta station in front. Small restaurant and Parotta takes quite some time to get it as every one orders them. You need order, pay up and wait at the table with buzzer which will alert when order is ready. Ambiance is buzzy and not tidy as the cleanup is not frequent. Since parotta will take time we ordered Davanagere Benne Dose, a popular dosa variant originating in the city of Davanagere in North Karnataka. Davanagere Benne Dose is known for generous dosage of butter used on the dosa. Also the composition of the batter is different than the normal dosa as they add poha (rolled rice) to prepare the batter. They are usually thick dosa with crispy exterior ours was not crispy but soft accompanied with 3 chutney, coconut, ginger and tomato. Avoid the tomato the red chutney it will ruin your taste buds, ginger was ok. Coconut chutney was great!, and so was the masala inside dosa tasted little sour. Sambar was decent too. Parotta there were several choices we went with bun parotta, but when received it was like normal parotta may be tad thicker. Bun parotta are really thick and takes long time to cook, may be they are shortcutting the process but lost authenticity and Salna that needs to accompain parotta was not tasting like one, it was like mashup of korma and sambar.

Really wanted to like the place but somehow the flavors just didn't hit. Nothing was wrong per se- just lacked the flavours I'm used to! Very nice setting for the restaurant with ample parking! You order at the counter and they give you a buzzer to come grab your food when it's ready.

Everything was made pretty fresh. And cashier last was very nice. Nellore Karam Idli was disappointing because it wasn't spicy enough and i thought it'd be crispier. But perhaps i don't have right expectations.

Parotta and Davangere Benne Podi Dosa

This place is an underrated gem!!! Food here is really good and good priced for the portions We got one benne podi dosa and two orders of parotta. The dosa came w 3 chutneys and sambar and the parotta came w some chettinad tasting curry. Parotta was very flaky and fresh and delicious and the dosa was also hot and crispy. Both are definitely oily (dosa was served with a slab of butter on top) but not in a bad way it was still delicious! I got a masala chai - too much cardamom for my taste but my sister liked it. We got the rose milk too which was very good as well. This place is a seat yourself so it does get crowded and you have to get lucky to get a table but still worth the wait!

Nellore Karam Idli(3)

We had dinner here on a busy Friday night. It took about 25 minutes for our food to arrive after we ordered. The Davangere benne dosa and Medu Vada were great, but the Nellore karam idly was underwhelming. Chutneys and sambar were good. However, the table we were seated at was not clean, and the area for disposing of used plates was dirty.

Went for a dinner on a weekend evening, and it was a decent crowd. We were aiming to be there by 7ish because we had heard that the live parota stops/gets over around 8pm. Our first visit, and everything was decent! Parota salna was good, my husband's fav. Kids loved the corn and cheese oothapams. Kara dosa was perfectly spiced. All good except benne dosa, because that was not what I expected hahaha. I expected a Bangalore style benne dosa, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. But instead of we got a dosa with a huge blob of benne on top hahaha. I couldn't stop laughing when I saw it. It still tasted fine. But just not what an actual benne dosa is supposed to be. I wish they had a open hand washing station available. The only one is inside the restroom, and we have to wait so long for people using the restroom to come out, just to wash hands! Of course this won't be an issue in non-indian restaurants. But considering how almost everyone here eats parota and dosa with hands, it would make sense to have a sink outside. Overall, not bad at all! Will return occasionally for a quick parota fix.

The two Mango Lassi and Rose Milk T_T

This place is the best!!!! We went for the happy hour deal and it was so worth the price :D 7$ for two people is such a steal. We were also debating between getting the mango lassi or trying the rose milk but instead we got two mango lassis and the we got to try the Rose Milk for free because the worker was so kind :) 1000/10! I wish i lived closer so i could come weekly :]

Great South Indian tiffin place next to coconut hill in Milpitas. Absolutely LOVED their chutneys, especially coconut and peanut ones. Very fresh and tasty. We tried their bun parotta, benne podi dosai, coconut jaggery dosai, curry leaf idly & everything tasted great. The coconut jaggery dosa is basically kozhukattai poornam inside a dosai which I enjoyed SO much (it's hard to get boli here) The benne dosai was too oily for me, I literally had to squeeze out each piece before putting it in my mouth. I would still order it but maybe put in a word to not use so much butter haha! The parotta was fantastic - fresh and crispy. I cannot stress how delicious their sambar and chutneys are - we took home the leftovers. It's a small, clean, self-service place with decent seating and very cheerful and welcoming staff. Will be back to taste more from their menu :)

I've eaten here a few times, mostly for dinner. Today we came for lunch . I'm not a big conisour of Indian food, but this place is always crowded at night and today there was a decent crowd. So the food must really be good. I usually get a dosa. Today we both got a malsala dosa. This is like eating comfort food.a soft buttery , crispy dosa filled with potatoes and seasoning. Also 3 different curries. This is a self serve restaurant, you go order and then you go pick up when it's ready. Signs ask you to bus tour own table, but some people don't.

The sauces and soup

Dosas are so yummy and this place is no exception. How can you do no to a thin crispy, crepe? I came for lunch and ordered a masala dosa to take home and eat. This one is filled with potatoes and peas and is usually my go to dosa. The dosa was still good but lost some of it's crispiness by the time I got home. I'd definitely recommend eating this at the restaurant versus taking it home to eat so that the dosa stays crispy. The restaurant itself was clean and the staff were friendly.

Please don't give your business to an establishment that is so disrespectful towards its customers. We arrived just before 9:15pm for dinner on a Friday evening and were promptly seated. The restaurant wasn't crowded and there were only a few families dining at the time. There was only one person running the entire restaurant floor and it took him a little while to come take our order. We decided to share a chicken kottu paratha and a chicken dosa and while the kottu paratha was pretty delicious, the chicken dosa was a disaster in more ways than one. In the bay area, where you're surrounded by tons of great dosa options, I was genuinely surprised to be served a dosa that was so tasteless and filled with completely dried out tough chicken. Anyway, while we were only 10 minutes into our subpar meal, the square payment device and 2 to-go boxes were placed on our table without a single word from the waiter. Because it was only about 8 minutes left till closing time for the restaurant, we figured that the sole waiter managing the floor must be trying to wrap things up. Anyway, we paid within a few minutes and tried to continue with our meal. The waiter however kept pacing next to our table and made it amply clear that he wanted us to pack our leftovers and leave. As we were packing our leftovers, the waiter turned off all the restaurant lights except one. As we hurriedly left the restaurant, I looked at my watch and it was only 10:04. I eat out a lot and at most restaurants all over the country and worldwide, customers are not seated after the closing time but customers who have been seated and served are allowed to finish their meal. Even if Namma has different rules of operation, they could have easily communicated the same politely and not been so passive-aggressive and disrespectful. Needless to say, this was my last time at Namma. Fellow Yelpers, you've been warned of the service you will receive at this establishment.

I was seated immediately, no wait, and the restaurant only had a few tables of people. The inside was bright and had plenty of tables. The noise was mainly from the mall. They were friendly taking and confirming my order. The menu covered all the usual dishes you might see at an Indian restaurant. And since one of the specials was butter chicken combo, I ordered that along with a paneer Manchurian with garlic naan. I didn't know what Manchurian flavor meant but it's like orange chicken but instead with paneer. It was pretty good. The paneer seemed to be pan fried before tossed in the sauce and topped with green onion. I would order this again. The butter chicken was also pretty good. It wasn't too heavy with butter and had a good amount of chicken. Chunks of chicken just floating in the sauce. The garlic naan was flatter and crispier than other Indian restaurants I've been too, but it was ok and did its job of being a vessel for the sauces. I would come back to try the wraps and curry next time. Other tables ordered these items and they looked really good.
