Initially we came here for chai and pakoras but our LO wanted to eat goat curry and naan at 4 pm!! So it had to happen. Glad that I got to try it- Goat was juicy, well cooked, flavored. Flavorful but not extremely spicy gravy. Garlic naan- one of the best naans in the bay area!!! Naan traditionally does not have yeast in the dough, has to be kneaded in a peculiar manner, is made fresh daily and rolled, stretched out thin and cooked in the tandoor or similar apparatus.. they nail all the points that make naan distinct from other Indian bread types.
Naans & Curries in Milpitas' Great Mall offers a menu of flatbreads, curries, chaats, tiffins, and more in a casual setting. To start, the Pooris were two puffy fried flatbreads served with a spiced chickpea and potato masala on the side; and the Chicken Kebab was boneless pieces of chicken in a flavorful spiced yogurt marinade cooked in a tandoor oven. My favorite dishes were the mains--the Butter Chicken was a classic creamy tomato curry with tender chunks of chicken; and the Saag Paneer was a creamy puréed spinach curry with chunks of paneer. Both dishes were freshly-prepared and flavorful, pairing perfectly with a side of rice and freshly-baked tandoori naan. In addition to the curries, I was also pleasantly surprised to find that this restaurant offered a number of South Indian specialties including dosas, a crispy rice and lentil batter crepe with a choice of filling. The Goat Kheema Dosa came with a flavorful filling of spiced ground goat meat, and on the side came sambar (a hot and sour lentil vegetable stew), a sweet and tangy tomato chutney, and an earthy peanut chutney (my favorite). Overall, the food here was fresh and the flavors on point. The prices were a bit high for the portion sizes (though still reasonable), and the service was quick and friendly.
I've been eating a lot of Indian food as of late. I was really stoked that an Indian restaurant opened up inside Great Mall. Their paneer tikka masala is so good. I had to go with both rice and naan.
I wish I had the experience everyone seemed to have with Naans & Curries but unfortunately I did not. My daughter was craving Indian food. Typically, I liked to order from Paradise Biryani Point but they were closed and I decided to try Naans & Curries. I ordered Butter Chicken and Garlic Naan. The butter chicken was a bit on the salty side. Garlic naan was burnt. I ordered for delivery. Delivery was fast which was a plus. The only plus for this order in fact. I will never cheat on Paradise Biryani Point again. It was not worth it.
I'm a novice with Indian food. I don't eat it often, but I do enjoy it when I can. This restaurant makes it very easy and comfortable to come in and enjoy a meal. The menu is very straightforward and they have all the original favorites as well as other dishes to try. I order the chicken tikka marsala, chicken biryani, garlic naan, and samosas. My favorite was the naan. So light and fluffy. Not very dense at all which I really like. I only ordered one and wish I got more. Next was the biryani. In the past I've found this dish to be very dry even though I liked it. The chicken was moist and seasoned well. The rice was dry, and the chicken was flavorful. The marsala was fine. I thought the flavors were there, but it was not as thick as I am used to. My advice is to make sure you have bread or naan to dip with it. The only disappointing thing I would say is the samosa. When my husband picked up the food, he rushed out and didn't realize they forgot the samosas so I didn't get a chance to try them. PLEASE CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE YOU LEAVE! Often times I feel intimidated to walk into an Indian restaurant because I only know a few dishes which are the typical ones that everyone orders, but I felt okay with this one. I would be willing to order something new to try.
This is a relative new Indian cafe inside the great mall . It is closed by one of the mall exit so you can park and walk to the cafe in a short distance . It has many tables even the inside space is not that big . Costumers have to sit causer to each other. But each table has enough room for the group order . They have a nice thick menu and posters on the windows to recommend their dishes . They do catering services for wedding , company events and other activities. Indian dishes are rich in flavors and their desserts ( crepes with cream and fruits ) are good presentations too . Should stop by some time to try !
Located inside the great mall, this place welcomes you as you step in. The dining area looks good and menu is decent too. We ordered samosas and chai. Samosas were good. Chai was ok too. But even for dine in, they serve it in paper cups- that was disappointing experience.
I came here on a Saturday evening for dinner. I've been walking by this place for about a month and finally had the chance to check it out. I was seated immediately, no wait, and the restaurant only had a few tables of people. The inside was bright and had plenty of tables. The noise was mainly from the mall. There was a large neon blackboard with the day's special clearly stated. There were two people working the dining room taking orders, cleaning up tables, and bringing out the food. They were friendly taking and confirming my order. The menu covered all the usual dishes you might see at an Indian restaurant. And since one of the specials was butter chicken combo, I ordered that along with a paneer Manchurian with garlic naan. I didn't know what Manchurian flavor meant but it's like orange chicken but instead with paneer. It was pretty good. The paneer seemed to be pan fried before tossed in the sauce and topped with green onion. I would order this again. The butter chicken was also pretty good. It wasn't too heavy with butter and had a good amount of chicken. Chunks of chicken just floating in the sauce. The garlic naan was flatter and crispier than other Indian restaurants I've been too, but it was ok and did its job of being a vessel for the sauces. I would come back to try the wraps and curry next time. Other tables ordered these items and they looked really good.
We walked in, no fuss, just grabbed a table. A nice lady brought us menus and water. I did ask for ice, yet they told us they do not have or offer ice. Okay... We then ordered veggie samosa to start with an amazing mint sauce. It was so tasty I asked for a refill. We then ordered butter chicken and chicken Tika along with garlic naan. So super delicious. The portions were generous and the taste was superb. All in all, I would return when I am at the Great Mall.
This is newly opened Indian restaurant in great mall offering an extensive menu of both north and south Indian dishes. I tired Papadi chaat and chicken Briyani. The taste is just ok. I felt there more scope to improve on taste. The portions are generous and the pricing is decent. The restaurant has welcoming vibes with clean interiors and comfortable seating. Family- friendly spot, the staff was attentive and courteous throughout the time. The food came out fairly quickly even during a busy evening.
What a flavorful addition to Great Mall's dining options! Lovely ambiance and very friendly staff. The food was on point with authentic flavors, a big variety of dishes to choose from and quick service. We loved the masala puri appetizer that had a warm masala filling. The Paneer Roll, with veggies was amazing. We also enjoyed the veg curry combo with paneer butter masala and garlic naan. All in all a fresh and delicious meal after a morning of shopping at Great Mall. It's right next to Jollibe close to the mall entrance.
This is a delayed review as our visit was about a month ago. I dont remember which roti and curry we ordered but all of them were good! This is a good place to stop and eat when visiting Great Mall.
Indian restaurant review. I tried this place out of curiosity. To go order. Food was really good! Curry is nice. Spicy but not too much. Interior is decorated, and the service was pleasant. Chicken Tikka Masala with Tandoori Roti was what they recommended. Great proportions and tasted great.

Tried Naans & Curries last week and was pleasantly surprised. This was a doordash order, so the review is primarily for food. I checked the reviews online and didn't want to have non-veg so tried Jackfruit biryani and gobi Manchurian, which had good reviews. The biryani was so flavorful, I loved it! I will be trying out their other biryani for sure next time. Even the Gobi Manchurian was really good.. wasn't overly oily, like many other places. Good taste, flavorful, not oily or overly laden with spices.. just the right amount. read more

Ordered takeout. Chicken Biryani is very flavorful - definitely going back just for that! Butter Chicken was also delicious, with a rich sauce and perfectly cooked, tender chicken. Highly recommended! read more

Checked out this restaurant at the Great Mall. I was very impressed and satisfied. I ordered the butter chicken curry combo which includes basmati rice and your choice of naan. The butter chicken was well seasoned/ flavored. The chicken was nice and tender. I chose a medium spice level and it was good for my liking. Service was great. The gal taking orders was attentive and kind. Another male staff was checking-in on tables making sure all was good. Definitely plan to go back. read more
GOATED I came here to eat by accident. Yesterday I was leaving the Great Mall when I passed my Naans & Curries. I looked at the sign on the window showing a picture of butter chicken. Then one of the servers at Naans & Curries provided me with the menu. I looked at it then proceeded to give the menu back to him. I went to another store just to look at sports jerseys. My initial plan was to eat at San Jose after shopping at the Great Mall. After leaving the sports store I decided to give Naans & Curries available chance instead of driving to San Jose. The only item I like in Indian food is tandoori chicken. Since this restaurant stated on the outside authentic Indian cuisine I was willing to expand my taste. This restaurant specializes in butter chicken and biryani. I decided to order biryani as I never had that dish before. I was deciding between goat or lamb biryani. I asked my server what he would recommend between these two items. He said from customers the most popular biryani is neither of those dishes but goat kheema biryani. I decided to order that dish. I also order tandoori chicken leg and mango lassi. Growing up as a Filipino I HATED goat because of the aftertaste. However I ate goat through Mexican and Jamaican cuisines. I loved their goat dishes because there was no aftertaste. So would eating goat in Indian cuisine would pleasantly surprise me? The goat kheema biryani was interesting because it included ground goat meat. First off was the tandoori chicken leg. This dish from Naans & Curries wasn't overly charred as with other tandoori chickens I've eaten in the past however it is the moistest tandoori chicken I've tasted. The mango lassi was a light drink that complimented the goat kheema biryani. How was the goat kheema biryani? It exceeded my expectation because I thought the ground goat meat would be gamey but it wasn't. I also loved how the basmati rice was fluffy. The concern was if eating the ground goat meat would become pasty. It wasn't. I enjoyed eating the goat kheema biryani. The dish was filling and satisfying. If I go to the Great Mall again to shop and become hungry I'd go back to Naans & Curries to order new items. read more

We have a kiosk on the Great Mall and we decided to,order from Naans and Curries located within the mall. I ordered the Egg Biryani. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. I couldn't eat it all and I took the other half home. I bragged to my husband over the phone how good it was and I ended up buying another one to take home to him. Might just be ordering again today. read more

This place was actually amazing..!! Everyone was super quiet but nice .. they sat us down and handed us menus right away! Not sure why I didn't have a good feeling about the food but I'm glad the food absolutely changed my mind... we got the chicken tikka masala and the curry was smooth and delicious.. the naan was also perfect not too soft and not too hard .. we also got the tandoori chicken.. now those could've been a little bit better they were so small and not as much flavour.. we were planning on trying different things in the mall so just wanted the taste of Indian food and they satisfied us! They have North Indian options and South!!! And Maybe the food would've been even better if it was hot. read more

Ordered the chicken biryani, paneer dosa, and garlic naan and it was all bussin Biryani was hella flavorful and it paired with the raita and that creamy, cool vibe was clutch to balance the spice. Total game changer. The paneer dosa was legit authentic, spiced just right. Dipped it in the sambar and those chutneys? Straight slaps. The garlic naan wasn't slept on either, it hit different, like way more flavorful than I expected. Service was cool too, quick service, honest suggestions, and were attentive. Honestly just eat here than the food court when you go the mall. It's an upgrade you deserve. read more

This was my first time trying Indian food. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala and my husband had the Lamb Biryani. Both dishes were very tasty. The lamb was very soft and flavorful. I accompanied my fish with some garlic Naam, which was soft and very delicious. I would recommend this restaurant. The thing that I loved the most besides the food was the service. Our waiter was very friendly and made you feel very welcomed. He was super with all his attention! Sai thank you for the great service. read more

Today I had Chicken Manchuria, Mixed Veg Curry, and Tandoori Roti from Naans and curries. Let me start with the Chicken Manchuria - absolutely the star of the meal! The chicken was perfectly cooked - juicy, tender, and full of flavor. Each bite had a punch of garlic, soy, and chili - a perfect balance. It wasn't too oily or dry - just the right consistency with a light crisp. Served hot, it had that restaurant-style sizzle and aroma that hits you instantly. This dish alone is worth coming back for. Moving to the Mixed Veg Curry, it was fresh and comforting. All the vegetables were well-cooked but not mushy - a great texture. The curry had a homestyle feel - warm, spiced, but not overwhelmingly hot. Cauliflower, beans, carrots, peas - all featured in a thick, rich gravy. If you're vegetarian or looking for a hearty, balanced dish, this is a solid choice. And now the Tandoori Roti - warm, fluffy, and had that smoky tandoor flavor. It was soft inside with a slight crisp on the outside, exactly how roti should be. Perfect for scooping up the curry. Portion sizes were generous. We can know from the flavor and taste that the chef had made it with passion and the love for cooking. read more

We love Indian food and always like to try new places, so while shopping and Great Mall in Milpitas, we couldn't pass up eating at Naans & Curries. The staff were very polite, answered our questions, and their service was quick. We started with two samosas and they had a good flavor with just the right spice. I love Butter Chicken, so I got the combo with garlic naan and it was really good. We also got the lamb biryani and it tasted good too, but with a little more of the yogurt sauce would be ideal. We'll be back again soon, to try more items on the menu. read more

The food was meh. The taste needs improvement. It tasted diluted and tasteless without any flavor. It was like having a flat version of Pepsi or coke at a bar or restaurant. Absolutely, tasteless. Lacked flavor. Lacked anything. If "heat" or "spicy" is their method in covering their lack of taste or food profile I guess that would make more sense. However, I must say that the texture temperature and presentation was all good. However, the chia tea was bad. It wasn't milky enough and that too lacked flavor. The service was fair. I don't think she understood what I was asking when I asked her what the total was before taxes. The place was empty. I doubt it will survive. read more

Please note that price charged did not match the menu. Given that the place is new, it is surprising that the menu does not even have the correct price. Cleanliness - poor. Tables are wiped. It still continued to be dirty. The restroom is not serviced regularly either. The floor was a sticky mess. Food - not great at all. We order the paneer butter masala and the flavor of cardamom was overpowering. Naan is way too thin. Service - front of the house is understaffed. The gentlemen at the counter was super polite and apologetic. But he wasn't able to cope with the weekend crowd. Overall, not sure if they are still going through the initial struggles here. But the food being what it was I can't recommend this place given the price point. read more

Saw this new store opening while walking around Great Mall and decided to give it a try. Interior was very spacious with a lot of available seats. Portion sizes, on the other hand, was a little smaller than expected for the price, however, the taste was still very delicious read more
