This place was recommended by another auto shop but to be honest, disappointed and subpar service. This place specializes in European cars, so they say. Customer service. Remember you run a business, so please remember to be kind to customers. Condescending attitudes and being upset at customers for asking honest questions is rude. This place held our car for 2 days and did not even address the main issue. The main issue was ignored and basically a waste of time for 2 days while we had no car, and wasted time back/forth. Overall, I would not return and thankfully there are plenty of other mechanics to choose from in the East Valley. read more

Motor replaced on 15 year old VW. I've owned it for 13 of it's 15 years, it wasn't abused but the timing chain tensioner from VW at that time is apparently hit or miss... mine was a miss at 120,000 miles :-( Cost was on par with other VW or euro shops for replacing motor or rebuilding engine. Had I known then what I know now I'd have gone somewhere else practically anywhere else besides Marzocchis P.E.R.I.O.D. Here's the full details: I had them replace the motor (they sourced the used replacement 2.0T engine for it and updated the timing chain and tensioner on the new motor prior to installing in vehicle). I wasn't expecting lightning service, but it sure took a very long time, it was over 4 months from the time they sourced a "quality" used motor for it and I paid half the bill (3k down for an estimated 6k job). When they finally called and told me it was done I was ecstatic as it'd been a good car before the timing chain catastrophe. But my joy was short lived as the CEL was on when I started it in their parking lot. So I left it there for them to sort out as I figured that was all part of the motor replacement job, like you've got to make it good enough to pass emissions. Two weeks later they again said it was good to go. Picked it up and CEL came on on drive home (15 minute drive). Parked it in garage because Marzocchis was already closed, then that night it hemorrhaged oil all over my garage floor. Took it back the next day, they told me CEL was due to bad intake runners, cost ~1k to replace, and oil was simply a "spill" from over filling it (didn't make a lot of since given the amount of oil it poured on my garage floor but it was all fresh oil so I accepted their story). About two weeks later they claimed it was good to go. Picked it up and within two days and 3 drives (less than 40 miles since it was "repaired") and CEL came on again, ALSO it was still pouring oil onto the ground, leaving dinner plate sized oil spills anywhere it was parked. Took it back in, told them that it seems like it's too much oil and now dirtier oil for just being a spill and overflow. Marzocchis said they'd look at it and let me know, a week later they finally looked at it (it literally just sat in their lot for a week completely ignored). They called and said the intake runners were bad again, so it needed a new intake manifold (replaced under warranty this time as the last one from the previous visit was brand new). I reminded them that it's still hemorrhaging oil, they stuck to the it's just from an "overfill spill" story and that they'd "cleaned it up" and it should be good to go. When I picked it up I noticed that several pieces of the engine bay plastics were now broken and a few more missing, they'd all been present and whole when I'd taken it to them every other time. I asked if they'd misplaced them, they didn't deny it they just said, "we checked, there aren't any of those plastics here". By now I'm really feeling like they couldn't possibly care less about me, my money nor my car. Picked it up a week later and at least this time it finally had no CEL (and it still hasn't come back on). But it has just never stopped hemorrhaging oil, everywhere it was parked there'd be an oil 12-16" diameter oil spot under it. I did an engine bay deep clean with a degreaser and pressure washer, still oil is under it any time it sits for more than 30 seconds. I'd check the oil and it was loosing about a quart every 2 weeks. Due to the total expense (about 7k) the total lack of respect for me, my money and my car -parts that were in the engine bay when it went into the shop but broken and missing when I'd pick it up. I was just D.O.N.E. with them. So I took it to a different shop. New shop diagnosed the oil leak in under an hour as upper timing chain cover gasket not correctly sealed (could be more oil leaks as that one was coating the front of the engine and the accessory belt was flinging oil everywhere so they aren't sure if there's other leaks but that one was "easily identifiable" they said, they'll repair it and check for any other leaks, at a minimum I'm going to be another 1 to 1.5k into fixing this damn VW. I'd take the bill into Marzocchi's and ask them to cover as it is clearly related to the original job of replacing the engine. But I'm so D.O.N.E. with them that I'm never going to darken their doorway again. I do not recommend them, in fact I strongly recommend AGAINST them. Frankly I'd give them zero stars if that was possible. I'm firmly convinced that you could pick ANY OTHER SHOP in the valley and you'd likely have a significantly better experience. It's so bad that I'm going to go trade the damn VW in on a Miata as soon as it's out of this shop. I am not spending another dime on this damn German nightmare, and as much as I loved (past tense being critical here) the looks of German cars I'm never buying another one. They are so not worth the headaches and financial pain and frankly ruin... read more

Bought an '05 mini cooper from them about 6 months back. The serpentine belt went bad and broke. Which is understandable. But the car keeps overheating and I have spent over $600 trying to get the a c fixed. Stay away from this place. I only wish that I had read the reviews before I bought the car. I was completely taken aback by the customer service. I called to schedule an inspection and the employee was extremely rude and acted as if me calling was an inconvenience. It was almost as if they expected me to lead the conversation despite me being the customer. When I asked simple questions I was made to feel as if I was wasting their time. Super condescending. After getting off the phone I called back to cancel my appointment just based off of this interaction alone. I've had them work on two of my cars, First, it was my '89 MB 560sl and now my current car, an'03 BMW Z4. It's difficult to find anyone that will work on an '89 MB, but they took good care of it. Should have read reviews I see we are not the only ones to get screwed by this place. I wanted to get second opinion but they told us it was too dangerous to drive, which looking back was a lie. They either didn't find the right leak or didn't fix it and just pretended to fix it. And it took a week to do the "work". 3 months later and my daughter needs 5 quarts out of 9 quarts of oil (yes 9 quarts it's a Benz diesel). A place I would give a 0 if it was possible. My Sprinter van broke down and I quickly researched a mechanic shop that know how to work on Sprinter vans. Marzocchi was the closest I found claiming they specialize in working with European cars; including Sprinter vans. Well, my car was there late on a Wednesday night. By Friday late afternoon I haven't heard a thing from them. I called to get an update. The guy told me the mechanic is putting on the belt as we spoke and should be done in like an hr. He was gonna call me back. He never did. The next day I called and he said the guy is almost finish putting on the belt. I said you told me that yesterday when I called. How long does it take to put a belt on. He said it's the 2nd belt plus they had to make their own tools because the tools they needed weren't available. Hmmmmm!! Ok! Then he tells me that my driver side window doesn't work, same with my high beam lights. I told him those worked when I brought them in. He said they didn't touch both and he's just telling me what they found when they did a post work check to make sure everything works. I told him again, my window and my brights worked when we brought my van there. He sounded annoyed and again told me he's just telling me what they found. They can look at it but if they fix it they will charge me. Ridiculous!! Monday came and I didn't hear from them, so I call late afternoon for an update. He said they are almost done. He will call me back in a little bit. The next morning he called me super early when I'm trying to get kids out the door to school that the work is done but the window and the high beams aren't working; they can fix it but they'll charge me for it. Again I told him they were working when I brought my van in and I know this because the tow driver had to stick his head out the window to make sure it was safe to drive onto the street to get my van onto the tow truck. I didn't want these guys to do anything else to my van, so I just went ahead and pick up my van. When I got there they handed me the key and send me off. No explanation on the work they've done and why it took so long. They said they'll send me a receipt via email. I got into my van to drive off and heard the most painful sound coming from my power steering. It sounded terrible. How did they not hear that when they took my vehicle out for a drive post work? But I wasn't gonna ask them that. I drove straight to an AutoZone, bought power steering fluid and filled it up. My van was happy again. Later I found that my lock on my driver side wasn't working either and the alarm to tell me my headlights are still on wasn't working too. I will never go back here again. Update: I took my van to The Benz shop in Glendale and they found that the problem was a wrong fuse. A 25 amp fuse is suppose to run these parts of my vehicle but they found a 10 amp fuse there. They replaced it and now my life is so much easier - I can drive with my window down whenever I want to. I can order food at the drive thru. I can say hello to my neighbor while driving by their house. I don't forget to turn off my headlights after a long day of driving. I can lock my driver side door again with a press of a button. read more

As one can imagine, I was devastated when my brand new Land Rover was damaged at a car wash. With this being my first European car, I had no idea the difficulty it would be to arrange for this to be repaired. I spoke with 4 other repair facilities. Some of them I couldn't even get a call back, some saying it would be two months before they could do the work, and some asking for an absorbent amount for a small repair. Then I met Tony at Marzocchi Imports. From our initial conversation I knew we was honest and a straight shooter, which I appreciated. He got my car in the very next week, dealt with the insurance company, and the car was completed exactly when he said it would be. My daughters drop the car off for an oil change only at verbal set price of $200 This was not done when the car was picked up, it was double the price for things that were never asked for. All I asked for was a oil change not BS! The some BS oil change that he said all he would do was check the air filter, the owner who thinks he's some tough guy from NY ends up changing it and when I told my daughter how much it should be it was an additional $200 for a air filter. I had a Intoxalock device installed by Marzocchi on my vehicle and when I picked it up the windshield wipers didn't work. The tech also left my windows dirty (that he touched) and oil spots on my upholstery. I am not impressed. When I left a message about getting an oil change, no one ever returned my call. I did some work for this company in setting up a new location for them and my initial reaction of being impressed by them was dulled. Now I must return due to a malfunction of the Intoxalock and I have my doubts as to if they can repair the device. Would I go to this place if I didn't have to? Probably not and when my business with the concludes tomorrow I will not return. read more

Great repair shop and very honest, took our BMW in because brake wear warning message & light came on, we were expecting a $1200. bill for a brake job, they found what was a wear sensor wire had been broken and replaced it, pads were fine. Tells my wife her battery is dead, then her alternator is bad. Try to charge her some ridiculous price while I'm stuck working. I come down pull the alternator in the parking lot on my only day off in two months. I take it down to Autozone and guess what, It's fine! My wife and I came here to jump it a few days ago and they told me not to waste my time because the alternator was bad. This is the only reason I didn't jump it and test it on the vehicle. Owner has a major attitude. I'd rather stick my hotdog in a meat grinder than deal with these incompetent excuses for mechanics. Next time you test an alternator Mr Mechanic make sure you set your meter to DC not AC. Maybe they didn't teach you that in your ASME prison mechanics class? read more

Brought my BMW X5 in for them to identify and fix a fluid leak. Left the car and called two days later and Tony tells me they will get to it tomorrow. I wait two more days with no word from them. I call and Tony says we just got it on the lift and will get back to me. Three more days! I patiently waited one full week for a fluid leak inspection and fix. When I called I get voicemail. I drive down there and Tony says he tightened some things up no more leak. I drive it home and look under the car and it is dripping and making a fresh puddle of oil. The dealership is well worth the $ compared to these quacks. They obviously didn't even look at our car. And wasted a week of our time while the car just sat in their parking lot. Takes forever to get done with your car. Decent pricing but the owner can be very rude. I often times had to explain what is wrong with the car, they could never figure out what was wrong. I had fuel injectors installed and I ended up paying twice when they should of charged once. I supplied the parts but they blamed it on buying a aftermarket part even though it was a brand new oem part. read more

(head shaking in hands) if i had only known. I called this location based on a recommendation/search with a online search engine (accompanied by a coupon). I called the shop Wednesday to advise that i was purchasing a vehicle and that in the next few days i would like to bring my new car in for an inspection, i was assured that it wouldn't be a problem and that if i brought it in Friday/Thursday evening that "his guy" wouldn't be available to look at it until Monday, Which wasn't a problem since my purchase is an alternative transportation and i'm in no rush to fix. It was a few days later probably Tuesday the following week i received a call from the manager to review the details, when i was given random details and hefty mythical quotes based on chicken scratch from the mechanic i was inadvertently discouraged to fix my recent purchase and even purchase a newer version (which i thought was odd, it kinda felt like they thought it was too much work) he kept fishing for prices i felt comfortable spending and budget i was trying to achieve (none of which i feel was his business, based on the fact its his business to sell a product, not tailor my needs to fit my budget). Based on the severity of the potential condition of the car I felt no need to rush the mechanic, until Wednesday my husband had to go into the shop to get an actual quote on paper (which means that now three days after having possession of the car it was not complete). Again my list of expected repairs was all curtailed based on budget and never a complete list of repairs as promised. upon arriving home i had two separate quotes, both with random items no real priority and a mishmosch of procedures. I started googling some of the parts to find my quoted price for parts was ridiculously over priced, keep in mind i know the make model and year of my car and if the parts needed were true and as listed i should have been able to find them easy enough with clarity, right? and wouldnt they be close to the price that i was quoted? NOPE, not the case waaaay off! The icing on the cake was when I attempted to call the shop the day after my haphazard events of financial presentations and assumptions to discuss my findings and concerns when not once but three calls from my cell phone rang through to the fax, were my calls being screened? The following day the mechanic actually called to see if I wanted to get started, not the manager, not an Owner or administrative representative, the mechanic. I told him that my confidence had been crushed and we would be in later that day to pick it up, despite the fact I was not given a comprehensive estimate of repairs as promised and still charged the inspection fee of over $100 plus tax. Lastly, id really rather the management spend some time researching an answering machine and better resources for purchasing parts rather than respond to my review (its time better spent and true yelpers only find it comical to justify my experiences with bashing my opinion, im entitled to mine, just as you are yours). read more

They also understand cars and customers and do want the car to last and the customer experience to be one that fosters continued business. Genuine parts , expert advice , honest opinions. As a single woman I am always hesitant to go to a new mechanic but Girard took great care of me. He didn't try to upsell me and he was very honest. I brought in my ancient Toyota with close to 200,000 miles on it and they did a great job. He explained what was wrong, he explained what was wearing out and what I could wait on. I've been getting my cars serviced from Gerrad and Patti for over 5yrs . What I love about their business is they never try to repair the most expensive part on your vehicle. Ex: My car was overheating yet not leaking fluid , they performed all test for free and ruled out each area . I must warn you Gerrad doesn't beat around a bush concerning your vehicle , he's very passionate about his work and workers .
