We always have to have their signature Mary's Salad. Always! And get either their Bleu Cheese dressing (or Bleu Cheese/Italian combo dressing.) My entree, the Ricotta Pasta Alla Vodka, had a slight kick to it, but left a lot to be desired. It could have used more red sauce, as well. (It has zero protein, BTW.) I should've went with the Lasagna. All of their pizzas are very good. Mary's Combo is our usual go-to, with loads of toppings and the best crust. I have driven by this place for many years so I decided to finally stop in. I got my order to go. I walked in and my order was taken immediately. I sat on the bench near the front door and waited. Very shortly, my buffalo wings were brought to me, and I was told that the pizza would be coming from the counter. There was plenty of seating, even though I was told that it had been a busy day for them. The seats looked like they were not crowded on top of each other, and there was plenty of lighting. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly my order arrived. The pizza was delicious. The middle was a little wet, but I'm sure it has to do with the abundant toppings. The crust was just perfect. We stopped at Windsor on the way home from a Northern California vacation, hoping to check out Mary's Pizza Shack. We always enjoyed the Mary's in Walnut Creek, but it was an unfortunate casualty of the pandemic. This Mary's had something special I wanted to try: a low carb Cauliflower Pizza crust! It had been months since I was able to enjoy pizza, as low carbs are not one of pizza's selling points! The cauliflower pizzas are only of the 12 inch personal size with thin crust - but beggars can't be choosers. My wife ordered the calzone, one of their specialties. The cauliflower pizza wasn't bad at all! Of course it didn't help that I was salivating over my wife's thick crust calzone the entire time. But the fact that I could actually eat pizza on my diet was a great thing. This Mary's was great: fast, friendly service, nicely spaced tables and good atmosphere. The food was okay, nothing to write home about. When our party of three arrived, we were told to sit any we'd like. After sitting at a table next to a large party (about 15), I saw table next to us jwaiting to be bussed. I noticed that there were several people in the kitchen but only two wait-staff to serve customers. The young waitress came, was very pleasant, got our drinks and took our order. My salad came quickly but my other two guests didn't receive their orders until 30 minutes after my salad. The table next to us still hadn't been bussed. I noticed during our dinner that the two wait-staff stayed relatively busy while the crowd in the back (kitchen area) were having a good time. Our waitress never came back to check for drink refills. We waited 10+ minutes for the bill which never came. We finally got up and and stood at the register. Our waitress saw this and ran over to check us out. The table next to our table STILL needed bussing. Recommendations from someone who has restaurant experience: 1. Focus on your customers, 2. Have enough staff to complete your mission, 3. Customers recognize when there's no one in charge...where is the manager?, 4. Buss the damn tables. The waite staff is very courteous. We go there so often they know what we like how we like it. When we come in and they see it says they get our tea ready in our water and come over to our table and talk to us. If we haven't been in a while, then they ask us, I wonder where we've been. Beware of the BOGO deal. It looks like they put these pizzas in the oven at the same time. Pepperoni looks great, cheese looks inedible. It's worse in person than in the photo. A fan of Mary's and love they have deals, but deal or no deal, our orders have been so hit or miss the last year. Kept it simple because the deal allowed for one topping. We usually order more. We will keep ordering because it's good food, but will know when ordering there is a 25-50% there will be a burnt or wrong topped pizza. Will have to decide when we want pizza if we are in the mood to gamble. read more

I've been coming to Mary's for decades because they have the best blue cheese dressing in the world! Think I'm joking? I'm not! You can actually buy their dressing, which I've don't before and find that I eat it all within days of purchase. The Mary's salad is epically amazing and pairs perfectly with the protein plate if you're on the hunt for lighter fare at a pizza joint. The pizza is good but the dough is actually what sells it! We've been Mary's customers for many years, but have noticed a continued decline in the quality of both food and service over the past months. Last night it hit a new low. Three of us went in for soup and salad. Easy, right? The salads came out promptly and were excellent, but the server didn't bring the french bread that accompanies it. The bread came after we had finished our salads and was stale or over-warmed. At that point we were told the soup is still heating up. When the soup finally came the spoons had soup all over the handles and it was luke warm. I asked if someone forgot to put the soup order in and was told that when they went to get our soup the soup pot was empty. They then had to put cold soup in and wait for it to get to 190 degrees. Trust me, it didn't get there. Also, they changed the tables near the walls to fit flush to the wall instead of 45 degrees as they used to be. The result is that a 4-top now has 2 people along 2 sides instead of one person on each of the 4 sides. While they can fit more people in this configuration it is much less comfortable. If Mary's continues this poor food and service they won't need to worry about accommodating any more people. read more

Well, this place was a nice surprise. We stumbled upon this place only cause another place across the way was closed for the holiday. Which worked out great! Mary's pizza shack makes really good pizza, and the meatballs for two as an app yum. First off, the pizza was cooked perfectly with plenty of toppings and very flavorful. The meatballs and sauce, oh the sauce, I should have had them put it in a jar so I could bring it back home. I live down south in Orange County, and I haven't come across a restaurant that has sauce as well as Mary's pizza shack! The service was friendly and attentive. The Mary's franchisees used to be family member operated. If the Windsor operator is family they should be excommunicated. Mary's hamburger has been famous for years and I have had them at numerous Marys locations. The worst burger ever tonight was at Windsor. The True Mary's Burger SHOULD (1) be fresh beef shaped for the (2) Crusty Sour Dough Baggette, with (3) lots of grilled onions and (4) a tasty sauce. INSTEAD I got (1) a Frozen round cheap supermarket patty on (2) a stale supermarket soft roll with (3) three tiny scraps of half-fried onions and (4) some cheap crap vaguely red sauce. Barf.
