We had three huge trees that were going to dead in the back yard. Up over a hill and very tall. The work wasn't going to be easy and to get the trunks in the front the wood would need to be carefully cut and walked down steep steps or a hill. Over a wooden fence. The work started promptly as promised and not only did they move my flower pots and place them back but they racked up the loosened soil and seeded it. A supervisor came back later and filled areas where the machinery made grooves in the yard with soil. We would certainly use them again. read more

Glad I was home to force him to lower the trunk in sections rather than drop it over the septic. They took all the wood instead of leaving the oak behind as listed on contract. Seems like an ESL problem. They also clipped an old TV Dish on the roof and said nothing about it. WTH. They sent a handyman out to repair the damage but never sent repair pics as promised. Maryland Tree "Experts" is an unethical, discriminatory, and deceitful company. I recently had a tree removed by MD Tree "Experts." The quoted price was $3,100 for a large gumball tree located behind my garage, which I understood was a difficult area to access. When the crew arrived around noon, they asked me to request access to my neighbor's yard in order to remove my tree. My neighbor agreed and also asked about having their own gumball tree removed. Edwando told both my neighbor and me that a discount would apply if we had both trees removed. Later, Edwando came back and told me that the neighbor was only removing a few branches, so the discount would not apply. This was not true. The neighbor had their entire tree removed, including stump grinding. MD Tree "Experts" began working on my neighbor's tree around 12:30 PM and finished around 6:00 PM. My neighbor was charged $4,000. Despite my original noon time slot, my tree removal did not begin until approximately 4:30 PM. No one communicated the delay to me, nor did anyone inform me that my neighbor's entire tree was being removed. When I texted Edwando about the delay, he responded: "I understand your frustration, Miss Posner. The reason we started your neighbor's tree first is because of the access. Accessing the tree in your yard was definitely easier after removing the neighbor's tree." My tree was removed in approximately two hours. This was a simple removal, leaving about 12 inches of the tree standing due to its location behind the garage. Based on the time spent, I was effectively charged about $1,550 per hour, while my neighbor paid approximately $575 per hour. I do not understand how my rate was determined compared to my neighbor's, and I question whether my status as a senior female homeowner played a role. I have left messages through the company's website and spoke directly with Edwando, who told me someone would contact me regarding my overpayment. It has now been six days, and no one has contacted me. Unfortunately, because I was not home that evening, I left a check under the front mat for the full amount of $3,100. Had I been home, I would not have paid this amount. The check was cashed immediately, preventing me from placing a stop payment. I am now reporting this company to the Better Business Bureau due to what I believe to be discriminatory and unethical pricing practices. read more

Ken at MD Tree Experts recommended we remove a fourth while the crane was set up which looked fine to me, but his experience told him it was not in good shape. I agreed, and they later sent me a picture of an almost completely hollow and dead tree which could have fallen during any wind storm. I'm very grateful for his expertise. In Sept of 2025 I had a flyer in my mailbox for Maryland Tree Expert. I needed work done in my backyard so i called for an estimate. A person came out and gave me an estimate and in the next week I had signed it and was told they would be out in a week to do the job. When I didn't hear from them after that time I called the person who gave me the estimate and was told it would be the following week. My job was never scheduled so I tried to email them a couple times and received no response and I never heard from them again. Now it is April of 2026 and I have another flyer in my mailbox. I hired this company at the insistence of a neighbor who had a say in the matter as the only access to the trees to come down was on his driveway, I immediately noticed that they were different than previous Professional Tree removal companies I used in that they required signing a contract relieving them of damage to my lawn and property. Received a flyer for tree service. Gave them a call; their prices were way under everyone elses. They quickly sent me a copy of their insurance policy, which impressed me. I had about 12 foot high arborvities along a 40 foot side of my property. 5 men came and completely cut back the trees as promised within 2 hrs leaving no debris behind. My son used them to remove a 80 foot tree which he was receiving estimates 3x what Maryland Tree Experts were charging. This review is long overdue as Maryland Tree Experts did work for us in November 2024, and we want to share our good experience. We already had some estimates from other companies to remove a huge double trunked oak tree when we received a flyer in the mail from Maryland Tree Experts. Their estimate was, by far, the lowest. Their crew arrived early in the morning and worked all day. They were professional, hard working and equipped with the appropriate heavy machinery. While most of the crew spoke Spanish exclusively, their capable and courteous foreperson, Clemencia, spoke English and informed us of the process and answered our questions. In the middle of the job, we requested the removal of a limb from another tree. The foreperson called her boss who gave us an estimate over the phone and we agreed to have the extra work done. Updated review as of 5/21/25: Maryland Tree Experts removed several trees from our yard and they were also contracted to grind the stumps--all for a great half-day price. The team did an excellent job removing the trees and cleaning up. Little did we know that grinding is a separate team, which the removal team informed us about on the day of service. This is a four-star rating because it took 2 weeks to get a response from someone (anyone!) to schedule grinding, and only because of my own persistence (email, text, voicemail, then finally getting someone on the phone because there was no response to my previous repeated efforts). But the work was all finally completed. Like the removal team, the grinding team was excellent. Should you hire Maryland Tree Experts? Absolutely! Did a good job removing my trees, although not cheap. I had a 25% off coupon, which the rep would not even consider. He called on a Friday evening and said if I would let them do the work on Monday, they would reduce the price, but not as much as expected. They did not remove other old stumps as promised. I got a flier in my mailbox saying they'd be in my neighborhood that week and offered some coupons. I'm new to the neighborhood, new to the house, new to being waterfront. My home inspection cited a few trees that were overhanging my house and garage. The house one was the one I wanted trimmed back. So the guys came out, quoted me for some smaller work I wanted to get to whenever I had time- not time sensitive. Then we looked at the tree that was overhanging the house and the expert said to me- "see that branch? It's going to break anytime. Watch it the next time we get a gust"... scared me. The tree overhangs a bedroom. I asked them to trim the branches back and they said that would kill the tree. So, they thought it needed to be removed. The next day, done quickly to answer their assertion that it was urgent, they came back to remove the big maple tree. I later learned that I needed a permit due to proximity to the tide water. Maryland Tree Experts made zero mention of this permitting requirement. So, they accepted and cashed my check and now are not returning my calls. I want to make this right with the county/state and am working with a contractor (who has integrity!) to retroactively permit it. These folks knew I was within 1000 feet of the water- they could see my waterfront access about 20 feet away. The lack of integrity on their part is totally unsatisfactory. Took advantage of me. And rectifying it will cost me a few hundred dollars, IF the planning office doesn't heavily penalize me since the responsibility does legitimately fall on my shoulders. I was home throughout their tree removal- which I don't think they knew. So I saw them dropping limbs and watched them swing in front of the house with the guys laughing and apparently having a blast. They didn't damage my house to my knowledge, and laughing isn't a bad thing at all, but when I looked over and saw a 400 lb? Limb swinging by my window and heard them giggling... it seemed unprofessional. Oh, and they ran over and smashed my hardwired driveway light too. Ugh. Stay away from this company. read more

Due to a neighbor complaint and continued harassment we had decided we would be the better people and try to satisfy our neighbor in an attempt to be peaceful and just be the bigger people overall. After getting two previous quotes from local businesses we did not believe we would be able to accomplish this task due to extreme estimates we had previously received. We were told the job was difficult and would take a full day if not two full days. Not knowing any different we believed them. When checking our mail we found a mailer from MD Tree Experts with some current discounts and a free estimate. We reached out and to my surprise the call taker was able to meet my schedule and have the estimate scheduled within the same week. The estimator Eduardo arrived on time and was very professional. I showed him the 4 trees to be removed (causing a nuisance to our neighbor because they were hanging over the road). Both our local HOA inspector and the county government inspector had deemed the trees not to be dangerous and I was not required to have them removed. Again trying to be the bigger person and just being a good neighbor trying to make America great again! The estimate was unbelievable compared to the first two quotes. Eduardo ensured to discuss and make me aware of the current promotions being offered as well as inquiring personal information from me which also allowed me an additIonal discount for being a first responder. We agreed to price and signed contract and Eduardo advised us that his crew would be onsite the very next day which was a Saturday. The crew arrived on time and immediately went to work. They took the most difficily tree down first using an amazing climber and ground crew to avoid neighbor driveways, power lines, and vehicle traffic. Lower the tree piece by piece. I reached out to the crew boss onsite to ask him about adding an additional (fifth) tree and what it would cost. Without hesitation he reached directly out to the estimator talked and took pictures or video to share. The additional cost was very fair and we elected to have this added. The estimator and owner should be very happy and sati that the crew boss is a professional and dedicated employee who shared this information and never took advantage of the opportunity to make some side cash for him and the crew. Crew completely removed 5 trees and cleaned up all debris to include leaf blowing my yard, the roadway and double checking with me that we were satisfied all within 4 hours. The crew boss was handed the full amount in cash money and within one hour I received an electronic receipt from the company displaying my contract paid in full. Again, I would like to thank this company for a great experience overall and what I would consider a fair price and quality work. I come across this tree company watching them complete a fifteen tree job two houses up from me. They looked to be doing a fine job, so I called to get a quote. Out of the three quotes I got they matched my lowest one which was great! I was a little apprehensive about some reviews I saw posted about the language barrier (Spanish only of some workers) but went for it anyway and glad I did. One crew cut down my four stem 60' River Birch and trimmed my Willow Oak tree, one crew removed my brush pile and big bases and another crew arrived back to grind the stumps. Everything was done fast, totally cleaned up and professional. I will for sure use them again! Those that weren't real good with English we used the translation feature in our phones. No problems! We received a flyer for this company in our mailbox, and since we have a lot of tree work to complete, we gave them a call. Someone came out to meet with me about what we needed done. I had previously had a very experienced arborist identify which trees needed to be removed, which needed to be trimmed, and which ones needed to be cabled. I gave the guy from Maryland Tree Experts the list of work to be done, and he immediately started scowling. He did not know what cabling was, and he claimed he couldn't find which trees needed to be trimmed either. He then said he could only find three out of four trees that were marked for removal. He argued with me for about a half hour and disparaged our arborist. I then asked him to go ahead and give me an estimate for what HE thought needed to be done instead, and he said he would. Two weeks later and two phone calls later, and I have not heard a word from them. When I call, the woman who answers the phone says she will have him send me the estimate, but no estimate ever arrived. This was a huge waste of my time, and it is obvious that this company is totally inexperienced, rude, and has no idea what they are doing, since they don't even know what cabling is. Maryland Tree Experts provided excellent and professional service! We contacted MTE after receiving a solicitation in our mailbox. An estimator (F.R.) came the day after I called the office. He is professional, knowledgeable, and provided a price with scope or work. However, since the trees involved our neighbor, I could not sign a contract on the spot. F.R. said he understood, did not put on any sales pressure, but still offered the discount for people who would sign the contract the same day. A week later, I called F.R. and sent the signed contract by text. Two hours later, a crew of six came with two trucks and loads of equipment. Kudos to the Spanish speaking crew who worked hard for 5-6 hours straight to remove a huge 75-year-old tree in danger of toppling, two medium sized trees, and trimmed multiple large branches from other trees. They mulched the branches, hauled away the tree trunks, and cleaned up both yards. Despite rain and snow, another crew came back the day after with a remote-controlled robotic machine to remove the stumps! The staff at MTE and their crew did an incredible job! They preserved the fence and avoided any damage to our vegetable garden close to the trees. The price for the job was fair and competitive, and the crew definitely deserved the tip we added. P.S. We were quoted a price on a full day's work, including grinding any stumps, and removing all the debris. They came with a large, experienced crew, and the right equipment. They cleaned up just about everything, nothing was left behind but the mulch which was intentional. Maryland tree experts said they were arborists- so I asked them to cut back my trees and take one down. when they came, none could speak English-no arborist- and they had a pruner and a step ladder. When I tried to explain that they had to go higher than a step ladder, they couldn't understand me. I called the office and the owner said they would just climb the tree. (Are you kidding me?) This company is a bait and switch. They send out a coupon and advertisement to bring people in. We had them come give and estimate for two trees to be taken out and after they gave us the price I presented the coupon and the representative said "no that's not valid, we can only over a 25% off discount" our coupon was good for 40%. I told him no thanks and that was shady business practices. He went back to his car for 20 minutes and called his boss who subsequently called me and asked why I was upset. I explained to him why I was upset and disappointed in his business. Jose (the owner) decided he would come and talk to me in person and give me an estimate. He showed up and took a look and said he would honor his printed advertisement but they had to come out immediately. He explained that he only printed the coupon/advertisement because of CoViD-19 and it was to draw people into his business but he couldn't honor it because he was "going to lose money on it". I find it highly unethical and immoral to use an event as terrible as COVID-19 to draw people to your business just to cheat them. Have some integrity. read more

Couldn't be happier with the job- they came at 11:30 for a noon appointment, got straight to work and were finished by like 2pm! They cut down a 60-70 foot tree with no major issues and cleaned up mine and my neighbors yard. I will agree with other reviews though that the level of customer service can improve. The owner, Jose, was apparently rude to my neighbor- they messed up her bush and, while he offered to pay for it, he was short with her and refused to apologize. They moved some of my neighbors lawn ornaments and were a little sloppy, making dents in the lawn, but this was a huge tree so I was expecting some of that. Again, no complaints about the work but I work in customer service and care about my relationships with my neighbors so probably won't use them again. read more

Contracted for a full day's service (8 hours) from 9AM-5PM. They started to show up at 12:30PM and didn't start until 1:30PM. The service crew was quick and courteous, felling several smaller weed trees, as well as a large pine in the front of my house, but only worked for 4.5 hours until 6PM. The crew also attempted to leave around 5:45PM without grinding the stump for the pine, which I demanded they do. They promised to return to finish grinding the weed tree stumps in the back yard, but now nearly a month later - and despite repeated attempts at contacting the business - they have not returned. Based on the customer service alone, I would not recommend this business. The crew was good, ownership/office is unresponsive. I may have to file a BBB claim and/or take this to small claims court either to retrieve the money they owe for failure to finish the service, or to force them to return to finish the work. read more
