Pro: Five to six guys showed up and got right to work. I had one dead tree to take down that was near a metal garage. They were very clever in how they cut the limbs out and no damage to the garage. They were hard workers and knew what they were doing. Kudos to the guys. Cons: I expected the lawn to be disturbed but did not expect the amount of ruts that were left behind. I have used heavy equipment before, much heavier than what was used here, and did not leave half the damage. It's all about the least amount of travel to achieve the goal. In this case, it was a rubber track loader and a few turns were made that, well, did a number on the yard. But I am OK with the yard as a load of top soil and some sod will take care of the problem. What I am really disturbed about is the damage to the edge of my asphalt driveway. The edge of the asphalt where the machine left the grass and traveled onto the driveway literally crushed the edges of the asphalt. They knew they did it because they got some cut wood from my trailer in the driveway and put the wood down to ride over. It didn't work and the wood pieces were left there imbedded in the soil. I know things happen but I wished they would have said something to me. I probably will not use them again, but happy that the tree is down. read more

Extremely Poor Customer Service My experience with this company has been frustrating from start to finish. Jade and Char were incredibly rude and unprofessional--both hung up on me multiple times when I simply asked to speak with the owner. The office staff as a whole was consistently unhelpful and disrespectful. The company began a job on June 19th, removing limbs from one side of a large tree. Then they left the job incomplete, with the tree leaning toward my house--posing a serious risk during summer storms. Despite my increasing concern, the office repeatedly canceled and rescheduled appointments without explanation. When I questioned their handling of the situation and again requested to speak with the owner, I was told they "would not tolerate" my behavior--just for asking reasonable questions--and they ultimately refused to complete the job. Although my trees were removed and my yard looks better and safer for it, I can never recommend this company. The crew chief was rude and argumentative. The workers left trash in my yard, branches in my neighbors' yards, things they moved in my yard (bench, potted plants, etc.) were not returned to their place and, worst of all, the many divots in the yard, some of them huge, were not filled back in leaving holes in the yard that I now have to deal with. After contacting Joe, the owner, I was told things would be taken care of and that I would receive a check for having to clean up after his crew, when they should have cleaned up after themselves. I hired them to clean up limbs and debris left from storm that went through on july 12.They came on the time that they were supposed to, however, they did not do a good clean up job. they did not rake and clean up all the debris plus they left water bottles and cigarettes butts in my yard. they were going to leave without taking out one of the main things that they were supposed to take out . i would not recommend them and will not use them again. I had to clean up the yard myself and they moved a large wooden picnic table and did not put it back in its place. My husband and I could not do this alone. Only one person on the whole crew was understandable.For me, lesson learned. read more

I had a really great experience with Ameritree. The initial meeting and quote were quick and easy and they were very communicative on schedule. The real reason they get 5 stars is how they handled an issue. There was a pretty large miscommunication between me and the salesman, Darius. Ameritree (which includes both Darius and the field crew) handled the issue professionally, quickly and in my opinion, the right way. Darius even came out during the removal to address the issue with me and ensure the field crew adjusted accordingly. Even though frustrating on both sides at first, he was friendly and hospitable and in the end, these guys earned any repeat business I will ever have. read more

The tree cutting was good but everything they messed up before then was not! First off they backed up off the driveway and hit my fence and gate then tried to play it off. My gate was fine before then. When looked at afterwards someone tried to dig it up it . i couldnt get gate to close because from backing into the gate was so off now it would not close Several inches of dirt missing around fence post where yoi could see the post was cemented in. They split the fence post at gate. The patio block inside gate was busted and had been dug up. They left remains all over patio and door. Didnt clean it up. Branches still all over! No respect for my property. They damaged and tried to blow it off like it was like that. Now i will have to replace . i would def not recommend if you dont want your property damaged! I hired this company to remove a small cherry tree and a holly bush from my front yard. The crew cutting the tree/bush down was very quick and did an acceptable clean-up. The individual who came back to grind the stump left shavings everywhere for a 15' radius. When I called with my concerns, Stephanie was VERY rude. The company did resend the grinder (Marcos) out to make another cleanup attempt who took photos of his improved clean-up. The second time around the chips were raked up from surrounding yard area into the now bald area of the yard opposed to removing the shavings altogether. I have been removing 20 gallon buckets of shavings for several weeks and still unable to plant grass seed. I now am hiring a company to dig out the shavings and level my yard so I can plant grass seed. The company was paid $500. The first crew took approximately 15 minutes to remove the tree/bush and it took another 10 minutes on a second day to grind the stump. I would think at those prices there would be a more efficient way to clean-up after grinding the stump. read more

I have used Ameritree for many years and have been very happy with their service. However, last fall, their trimmers did a very aggressive trim to the four large trees in our back yard. I reserved judgement until now, but, as we speak, we are having our two beloved apple trees removed as they were not strong enough to make it through a mild winter. Our very mature bradford pear has one small sprig of flowers on it and our maple does not look long for this world. The two remaining trees, the bradford pear and maple, look like stumps. These trees had made it through tough winters for 27 years. I am very disappointed and we are now spending thousands of dollars to revamp our yard. I know trees have life cycles, but they should not all die in one year. I am moving on from using their services. read more

The guys were on time and arrived with a big crew ready to work. The entire job was done in less than two hours and not a scratch on the neighbors house. Hired these guys to prune two trees, a Bradford Pear and a Maple. They literally mauled my poor trees. Not one little branch left, my Bradford lost a big branch in a storm some years ago and they completely cut off the new growth so my tree looks like crap. My Maple looks horrible. I am extremely upset with the treatment my wife and I received from Ameritree. A month ago they came to my house and gave a very good price to remove my tree. Took me it would be in 3 weeks. They showed 1/2 day late because they bumped us for another job. Then they lied and said they couldn't do it that day because they had no place to take the the tree. We then had to call them to find out when they'd be back, they said they needed more money. The owner said he'd be here to discuss with us, we waited they never called nor showed up. Still haven't heard from them. They have left us out to dry and now have to find someone else. They have acted extremely unprofessional and have been very rude to us. Shame on them. read more

We 1st used Ameritree in summer 2016 to take down a large maple in the back yard that started showing signs of disease. The estimate was cheaper than the the guy we would normally use (hub's acquaintance from old nieghborhood). We we very please with how quick they were and careful of thier surroundings (pool, house, and garage). We just used thier services again being the better price and prior experience. This time 2 very large maples, both having issues. We did get a discount for repeat business. Again these guys get the job DONE. No slacking. When the stump grinder came a few days later, the guy was great. Polite, minimized the mess from the grinder and left the wood shavings in a mound knowing & explaining that it will sink down. I wish I had gotten his name but I did call the office and praise his work. And the tree cutters. Also, they were the same cutters from 2 yrs prior and remembered us. read more

My mother in-law recommended Ameritree to me because they did a great job cutting 7 trees from her back yard (I was present when the company was at her house doing the job). I gave Ameritree a call on April 20th 2018 to get an estimate to remove 2 tree stumps from my back yard and the guy who answered the phone stated I had to send pictures of the stumps to his phone so they could send me the estimate price by the next day. I sent the pictures and never heard back from them. On April 23, 2018, I called Ameritree and a girl answer the phone. She said I had to send pictures to the company's email so she could send me an estimate by the end of the day and warned me it would be about 2-3 weeks before they could get out, I acknowledge and understood the situation and still inquired for the estimate and never got the estimate. On April 24 2018, I emailed them following up to the estimate for the 2 tree stumps and the person stated " I sent it over to my sales manager this morning I'm sorry it's just been busy in here I will back to you by tomorrow with a price" and honestly, I never received a response from them. To my understanding, this behavior is extremely unprofessional and rude. I don't understand why it would take 6 days to get an estimate and why the person answering the emails would have the nerve to say "it's just been busy, I'll get back to you by tomorrow" and I emailed them back on April 26th 2018 to get an estimate and don't respond to the emails. Beware! Their quote was under competing businesses so we booked a job with them in June. They were backed up three weeks. The week of the service I hadn't heard from them, so I called to check that everything was in line for our appt. They told me that BGE couldn't take the line down that day so they rescheduled me 9 days later. Had I not called in to check on the appt. I would not of known about the reschedule. 9 days later the crew showed up in the AM, sat around for about an hour and then left without saying anything. I called to find out what was going on, they told me that they needed a crane. Shouldn't that have been figured out when they did the estimate? I got the run around for a week while Ameritree said they were trying to schedule my service. I was up against a timeline that only allowed 2 more weeks to be complete. They told me that they could still get the work done, but it was going to cost another $700 over the estimate. I said OK please get me in the schedule. They said they would let me know on Monday (this was a friday). They did not call me on Monday, I contacted them Tuesday...now they say there are many levels to scheduling and that it doesn't look like they'll be able to make the timeline. If you need a company to stick to a timeline DO NOT CHOOSE THIS COMPANY....I guess you get what you pay for....I shouldn't have chosen the cheapest quote. My wife initially contacted Ameritree Experts on April 9th to remove a large stump in the rear of my yard. The receptionist stated that were unable to come out until April 30th, but did apologize for the delay. On April 30, the individual did come to grind the stump but left a large pile of shavings in our yard. However, our Contract for Services agreement indicated that Ameritree would be responsible for the removal of this debris, which is about 18+ inches high. We have tried to resolve this situation but when we have called the office, the female telephone receptionist has been VERY rude and unprofessional. The company sent out a representative on May 3, who assessed the situation and stated that Ameritree would assume responsibility for the debris removal, as written in the Contract for Services agreement. Despite repeated phone calls over the past FOUR weeks, a resolution has not occurred. This is NOT what I paid for ($500.00), nor what was promised when the agreement was signed. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL. Customer Service department needs training in customer relations including courtesy and problem-solving. read more
