Ate here last night for the first time after a full day of shopping! We were starving and were very happy with our choices. Had spinach artichoke dip as appetizer and chicken parm with fettuccini Alfredo instead of spaghetti. I did add some pepper to my food to give it a little more flavor but other than that enjoyed every bite. Also ordered bread pudding for dessert which was also very tasty. I agree with other reviews about the customer service being excellent. We had Erick as our server and he was so fun and very attentive. The restaurant is well decorated and very open (which can lead to a little more noise) but wasn't a huge problem. We definitely enjoyed our experience and I think we will be back! read more

1st visit - snapper was seriously over cooked 2nd visit - told them fish had been overlooked previously so be careful. Fish was overlooked PLUS they charged me for more expensive dish I did not order. 3rd visit - Chicken Marvino...dish was ok 4th visit - soup was not not warm, it was COLD. Waiter couldn't seem to understand what I meant by cold soup when I complained. Chicken Marvino - chicken was SO over cooked I had trouble cutting it with a knife. Mini-shrimps over cooked. And for this I paid $37.48. 5th visit - you've got to be kidding. There won't be a 5th visit...ever! read more

Been here several times over the past few years. The food has always been fresh and tasty. Their flat bread is so good and I love their Italian margaritas. The service is more hits than misses. We will definitely continue eating here. read more

I am so sad. I have been wanting to eat here since I heard it was opening and now having gone, I most likely won't be back. We start by squeezing my 8 month pregnant sister into a booth. Greeting- nonexistent, server- nonexistent. And when he showed he was so bored all he could afford to say was, "Food? Soup? Salad?" And to let me know that my top three choices listed on the menu were no longer served by the restaurant. He did become quite entertaining when letting us know that our dessert choices, "80% of customers say they don't like that one." He was completely animated when dropping off the check. Food was lackluster and VERY oily. At least the company was amazing and it wasn't a large group. That would have been a disaster. read more

Terrible. We had a large party of 14 with a reservation made 1 week in advance...the service was horrendous. The waiter was rude. Took 40 minutes to get both tables drink orders then they starting bringing out food we didn't even have our silverware !!! I complained to JR the manager and his attempts to resolve the issue failed further...the waiter messed up all the bills and attempted to charge us for things we didn't order. A 7PM dinner reservation took 3.5 hours to complete with horrible service. The only bright spot on the staff was Eric a waiter who attempted to assist but he too had trouble overcoming the obstacles created by our initial waiter. Do Not Go here with a group and expect any kind of decent service as it just might try to ruin your Friday night/ Weekend. read more

This restaurant was pretty good. A bit fancy so pricey but the service was great. The waiter had two assistants who constantly checked on us and ensured our plates were cleared once empty. They also seemed to keep an eye for when we would finish each course (appetizer, salad, meal etc.) Or maybe it was a coincidence but it was a good one lol the food was also really good! read more

Horrible!! Came to celebrate an anniversary and it was the biggest disappointment. First, we had to wait a long time to get menus. Apparently, the waitress can't accurately take orders. She brought the drinks wrong and at the end, failed to bring the two créeme brûlées we ordered. Instead she brought one and a happy anniversary chocolate cake. We don't like chocolate cake. Also, my fettuccini noodles were uncooked. I had ordered a reposado margarita and we received a reposado tequila. They "fixed" the order by taking back the reposado tequila, bringing a house Margarita and telling us it was the reposado Margarita. The reposado tequila is amber color and the color of the Margarita we received, as a replacement, was white. We decided that our experience was going to be terrible and decided to keep quiet and endure our bad restaurant selection choice. We simply paid and drove home. We should've not trusted the bill and checked. That was our mistake. We reviewed the bill, upon our return home, and noticed we were charged for the reposado tequila, a house margarita and a frozen margarita ( the only drink correctly served). It seems the restaurant wanted to deceive us by giving us a cheap margarita for the price of the reposado Margarita. Could it be to recover the cost of their mistake? Regardless, we questioned it at first and they confirmed it was the reposado. I can't ever go to a place where I feel I have been taken advantage of and robbed. These are strong words..but that's how I felt. I have learned my lesson and will take pictures as proof moving forward. My review is intended to share my experience. It is your choice to give Marvino's a try or not. However, I felt taken advantage of and can't trust that Marvino's will be honest and provide me with the quality of food I am paying for. I can't recommend a place that had me question its integrity. read more

Absolute garbage "Italian" food. This wannabe so called 5 star restaurant had food that tastes worse than Olive garden. A three star restaurant has better food, service, and wait time than this trash restaurant. Honestly don't waste your time unless you want to get wasted and eat Italian food. We ordered the chicken marinara just to find out later that it was exactly like the southwest chicken from McDonald's. And I do mean EXACTLY. The only difference between the two was that the chicken here had a little bit of cheese and watery marinara. The only entree that seemed good enough to eat was the fettuccine Alfredo. But, according to the 3 minutes that it took to bring it to us, either means that it is all just prepackaged food or it was taken off someone else's table and delivered straight to us. The chefs need to be trained properly if not fired for the complete and utter "food". I could do better with my eyes closed. The eggplant Parmesan was way too salty. If you've ever been to Galveston beaches, you would know what the eggplant tastes like. That part is not even an exaggeration, there was more salt than eggplant on it. We ended up wasting all of this pig feed with a hefty price following it. A waste of $80 and a waste of infrastructure. read more

A beautiful building, with a lot of seating options, a bar, and you can watch the pizzas be made. The bathrooms are always clean. The food isn't worth the price. The problem I have run into is that the waiters don't know their menu, and they are unable to tell us what is gluten free and what meals contain gluten. My favorite is when the waiter doesn't know what gluten is, so they make up an answer. On the bright side they have complimentary bread and dipping sauce. read more

My husband and I had the worst food experience from Marvino's. The Lasagna looked old and smelled rotten, we both took 1 bite! My husbands penne with beef was like eating oil and penne, had beef but zero flavor! We ended up throwing both dishes in the trash. My husband even called and spoke to a manager (Remi) that thanked him for letting him know and said he would call us back to let us know what he would do for us. We still haven't heard from him and that was December 27, 2018. I must add, the stuffed mushroom appetizer was a joke...2 tiny mushrooms for $10 are you kidding me? Don't waste your time or money going here! We turned around and ordered from Napoli and it was 1000x better and we could actually eat it without getting sick! Ugh!!!! I hate writing bad reviews but this deserves a minus 5 stars, not a 1 by any means! So very disappointing! We won't be eating or ordering ever again! read more

Went for dinner last night. Worst service ever. Our waiter who took the order seemed like he didn't want to wait on us. Had a drink and when he came back never asked if we wanted another. Took the glasses and walked away. Had to ask another server to check on our salads. This server also delivered our food. Was overcharged for 2 drinks not one. Again had to get help from this other server. Never again saw our waiter and tipped in cash to the 2nd server. We eat here a lot but going to stay away. Wanted to discuss with the manager but he was not around either. 2 stars because food was ok. Will stick to Dario's service always top notch. read more

I've dined at Marvino's on a few occasions and it's adequate for an outside the loop restaurant. Never thought to write a review and yet I'm compelled to share an experience my 16 year old had this evening. My son and 3 friends made a 6:00 reservation for a pre homecoming dinner. Once seated they were told that they would only be allowed to order off of the fixed menu (with a few selections). Now it's understandable on homecoming evening that large parties would need to order a fixed menu, because it puts a strain on the kitchen, but a party of 4? They asked for regular menus and were told no. The 4 top of adults at the next table received regular menus. You made 4 teenagers feel less than special on what was supposed to be a memorable evening. Management should have told them when the reservation was made that a special menu would be their only option. They were nice enough to replace my sons, girlfriends salad after she found a hair about halfway through. Frustrating for me and everyone involved. Take your chances if you like, for us it's going to be a hard pass from here on out. read more

I was nervous to try this place after reading all the reviews! However, I must say I was impressed! Wonderful staff that was attendant but not overly annoying! The food was delicious and I definitely have leftovers! I had the Veal Parmesan and Spinach Artichoke Dip as an app. So good! It was definitely a little classier than an Olive Garden but I did not feel under dressed in jeans and a sweater. I will definitely be returning! I really think Marvino's has taken the reviews here to heart and have improved their staff. I hope everyone enjoys this restaurant as much as I did! read more

Awful. Food os not fresh, authentic or accidentally tasty. Even when they are empty, they make you wait. As if that should give you some privileged feeling. Tried it on 3 separate occasions. Worse every time. Three strikes your out! read more

Limited menu, excellent service, the vodka sauce tasted like vomit. Wonderful bread and oil!

This was the worst restaurant we've tried in a long time. The drinks and food was horrible, the service is even worst. Don't waste your money or time. This place is a beautiful dump!!! read more

One star is far too high. Our server, who was courteous and expedient, was the best thing about Marvino's. My parents and I have birthdays a week apart, so we combined to celebrate together at Marvino's. I ordered oysters, a Caesar salad, and a filet. My mother had veal piccata, and my father had the crabcakes. The oysters were fine, the salad a bit strange with the fried cheese bits in there, but the filet was tough, dried out, and unevenly cooked; the meat was clearly of poor quality and had been stored long enough to lose moisture. My father's crabcakes, a $30, were mostly bread. My mother did not fair well with her veal either. Between the chain-restaurant quality food and the kitsch look of the place I'd recommend looking elsewhere for Italian food until this place retools their menu or implements some quality control. It would have been a worthwhile meal if three could eat at $60, but not for the $150 we spent on food, drinks, and a tip for the good waiter. read more

Service was great. The food was good. The cheese flat bread is the best. The food is a bit pricey though.

This is one of our favorite restaurants. We have been coming here since they opened. The reason for the low rating is to get attention and some feed back from owners. We love all your restaurants. Marvino's has always been our go to place because of service and quality of food. Just went a few days ago and was surprised to see another menu change with still so little Italian dishes. Still confused on how many steaks you have when you already have a steak restaurant. The prices have gone up some, which we were fine with because the quality has always been great. First problem I had is now you are charging for a salad or a soup when that always been included with the main entree. I had the lasagna (my favorite). It was such a small piece. Very dry. I know when you first opened you said people were complaining about too much sauce. Now everything is dry and we always ask for more. I don't have a problem raising your prices but still give the same size portion as you have in the past. Most of your entrees could easily be split if you were not that hungry. Not any more. Was very disappointed to see this happening to one of our favorite places. Please don't loose your regulars because you want to charge more and give little quality and quantity back. It was very upsetting considering you have always had a great product. Thanks read more

The food here is excellent and the wait staff is attentive. The wine selection is also very good.

I have never left a negative review in my life. and I do realize that this is not a Italian restaurant starred restaurant, but dear me, I also think that you can expect some sort of standard when you go out to eat. Unfortunately, the standard at this restaurant was very poor. I would leave zero stars if I could. Our First time try Marvino and will be the last. Food we order just not meet standard. Steak still really raw not medium rare and the pasta, Worst pasta I've had at a place that bills itself as authentic Italian not presentable look like they just throw everything in the plate and fungky taste. Well on top of that, we just feel been discriminated by the server because never come and ask. They focus on the table that order a lot and white color folks. No matter who you are, where you from, what you look like, what your background etc. you should treating your customers in the same way, Well, even though we get treated like this. we are still give good tips. read more

My wife and I have passed this place on numerous occasions, and even eaten at the Cheddar's and Saltgrass that share the parking lot. Decided we would try them today, and we were not disappointed!! From the entrance, the ambiance set the mood for the great dining experience! Our server Arianna was super attentive and personable!! The bread that starts the meal was really soft and delicious, and the oil based dip was a great compliment to it! We had an appetizer of Italian sausage in peppers, and the sauce that they were in was crazy good!! I ordered the house Chicken Marvino, and the sauce that the chicken and shrimp were marinated in was heaven!! My wife had the Snapper Milenese and it was fresh and marinated in another awesome sauce!! To close us out I used my free dessert from Yelp and that cheesecake.....OMG!!! I would definitely recommend a trip here....and I will be back....often!! Lol read more

Awesome restaurant! I went during an off hour to find they weren't open until 4. Odd hours but I'm thankful I waited til then. In addition to being super friendly and attentive, my server Christi (sorry if I spelled that wrong!) was very knowledgable. This place deserves 5 stars on the dessert cart alone. I had the tuxedo cake which was delectable. Words don't do it justice. Keep up the good work! read more

Long wait time and noticed that there was an entire back section of tables not being used ( perhaps they were short handed and couldn't open that section). Server was not friendly and acted as if she did not want to be there. Food was mediocre. Not worth the prices My wife ordered the "half" portion of the ravioli and the bowl had only 5 raviolis in it!!! 5?!?!! When I asked the manager he said that was a half serving and a full serving is 10. So yeah you are paying 14 bucks for 10 measly raviolis. I won't be going back to this place read more

Honestly, our experience was absolutely terrible. It was my aunts 60th birthday to begin with, and she wanted Marvino's to try their calamari. They got her entree wrong THREE times, my drink order was butchered, they didn't do anything for her birthday, and they didn't communicate when they were out of risotto so they just decided to put wild rice on the plate, hoping we wouldn't notice. The worst part- they did nothing about it. We even had both managers come to our table and they just looked at us and apologized then walked away. Seriously? We paid more than $30 a person and we get that crappy of service? I created a Yelp just to post this review if that says something. I was a waitress myself and I've never received such terrible service from what is supposed to be a very nice place. We will not be recommending Marvino's to anyone we know. It was insanely disappointing so don't waste your money- I would recommend Carrabbas for great Italian food. The staff are great and it's an all around better experience. Even the food is better at Carrabbas, but especially the drinks. The bartender forgot to put lemon in my LEMON drop martini today at Marvino's.. How does that even happen? read more

I love this place! The atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. The staff is attentive, responsive, and are sincerely customer oriented. This was a very disappointing Italian dinner. Four of us finally going out as a family and had terrible service and food. Spaghetti and Meatball wasn't as good as a can of spaghetti O's. $22 for a plate of over done thin spaghetti with old meatballs. Chicken Parm was at our table 15 minutes after the other three meals were served and then was not very good. We were told we could build our own pasta by our waiter. My sister order pasta primavera with only veggies, it was $18 and too salty. And only broccoli and carrots in it. There are many better choices in the area, so no need to stop by here. read more

My wife and I wanted to have some lasagna, salad and desert to spilt for I am trying to watch my wait. The waitress did not think this was funny and sort of gave us a snotty look. We were informed that there would be a $3.00 charge to split the lasagna, so we okayed this ridiculous charge (a lot of work to split onto two plates) and would like to have the wedge salad. We also ordered sweet tea with lemon and asked for some bread. When the wedge salad was served it looked more like 1/8 wedge instead of the 1/4 wedge (iceberg lettuce is cheap), thought it would be fun to share. Salad did taste good and like the blue cheese crumbs. The lasagna was served next on tow giant plates that were about 14" in diameter and a small 2" x 3" piece of lasagna on each plate. We looked at each other and said "Looked like something was lost for all the ceramic". Had the lasagna before and not even close to what we had in the past. The ricotta cheese tasted like it was possible old or frozen and the lasagna was maybe four layers not the eight layer we had in the past. Guess having to cut back on quantity for more profit and when the busboy refilled our tea he gave us unsweet tea. We informed the busboy that he gave us the wrong tea after we explained this to him three times, he took the tea away and the waitress gave us that good snotty look she has mastered, he did finally return with the correct tea. The highlight was desert for we ordered the carrot and not sure if we will be going back not the same as when they first opened. Even though not totally pleased we still left a tip. Stopped going to Marvino's after a disastrous Tuesday pizza night when the pizza was raw in the center. That has been about a year ago and will not be returning. Better restaurants opening and prices that are more reasonably. read more
