We came here on a Sunday morning for brunch. There was plenty of parking as it's located in a small plaza. One thing to note is that there was a bit of a wait to order. The aesthetic of the store is very cute, but there is very limited indoor seating! We ordered: - Red Velvet Mocha (Decaf) - While it looked very cute overall, the taste was not very flavorful or sweet and we couldn't really taste the red velvet flavor in the drink. - Choux à la crème - Pretty good! The pastry part sandwiching the cream was very soft and a cream combination with the cream! - Pistachio Crème-filled Spiral Croissant - The star of the brunch and absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this and I loved this croissant flavor! The croissant is both topped with and filled inside with pistachio cream, which was not too sweet and just right in terms of taste! The croissant part was flaky and slightly soft inside but crunchy, which was a great combination with the cream. You feel like you've stepped into the Queen of England's private palace bakery! The box my pastries came in was beautiful and ornate. It made the items feel really valuable FOOD Like everyone else here, I ordered the spiral croissants (all four flavors). The filling is delicious and creamy. There's too much filling for my taste. When you take a bite of the croissant, your mouth fills with filling and I feel the ratio of croissant to filling is off. I'd like to be able to take a bite and have a nice even amount of both but maybe it's not that kind of dessert. But man, if the croissant was a little more salty, I think it would be a match made in heaven when paired with the sweet filling. We came to try their famous spiral croissants. I gave 5 starts because the bakery is clean, quick, and very friendly. Their food is delicious as well. I will say though, skip the overhyped spiral croissants. They're messy and filled with this overbearing pudding. We luckily tried their spinach and cheese croissant which was incredible. We came for the spiral cream-filled croissants on a Saturday morning. From the other reviews, we saw that they sell out pretty quickly so we arrived a bit after opening at 10am but there was already a long line. We ended up waiting for about 45 min to order and then got a box of 5 croissants (they had chocolate, strawberry and pistachio the day we went) and a leek & parmesan pastry. The croissants were good with a sweet flaky pastry crust and filled with cream. Overall, it was yummy but didn't live up to the hype. There was too much cream for me and it took away from the croissant and felt more like a cream puff. The flavors were also just ok - the pistachio was nice and nutty but lacked a bold flavor. Same with the strawberry which luckily wasn't very sweet but a little bland. The cream also makes the croissant soggy after a couple of hours so you really have to eat them fresh. I actually enjoyed the leek pastry more than the croissants. After heating it up once we got home, it was nice and flaky with a ton of flavor and perfect for breakfast. I wanted to try the spiral croissant here to see how it compares to other spiral croissants. I came around 11am on a weekend and there was around 20 croissants left. Not sure if there's more in the back. They had chocolate, pistachio and a fruit flavor. I asked the girl what flavor's most popular and she's like everyone has their own preference.. in a condescending tone and creepy smile. She had this unsettling look to her face the entire time and just came off so fake. Not the first time I've experienced bad service here. We visited marvel cake after a lot of hype this past weekend. We entered around 11:30M so the viral spiral croissant was already over(bummer!)They apparently get sold out in the first one hour of opening. The server greeted us with a big smile. I'm kind of grateful that I live a little far from this bakery. Otherwise I would come here every week. It's just so good! Forget Cocola or Alexander's patisserie. This is the best bakery in the South Bay. My sister went here to grab some things for me. I basically got five desserts to try knowing that I will not be able to come back anytime soon. Anyways, I managed to get 3 spiral croissants; one in each flavor! The three flavors for the spiral croissants are Chocolate, Pistachio, and Strawberry. All of these croissants tasted very good, but my favorite would probably be the Strawberry because it tasted a little unique since I usually don't find much strawberry flavored croissant items at other places. I was also surprised I liked the Pistachio flavored spiral croissant, but that's probably because I didn't taste much of a pistachio flavor in it. This is such a fancy and luxury bakery shop. All of the pastries and cakes were display so nicely. First thing I noticed was the prices especially those little cakes that costs $10. It's so pretty and I'm sure it tastes good, but omg that price though. I got the perla and one small almond bites while my friend got two red velvet cupcakes and two vanilla choux. I gotta say that the perla was really good. I love how there's lemon pieces sprinkle on top of the cream which adds more flavor to the overall pastry. The almond bites are small, but it's so crunchy. And the pastries on display looked too good to eat ! Unfortunately there were no spirals left. Only peppermint, which I don't like on my pastry. I asked for any other croissants and didn't see the flat ones either. So I chose to try the Rose Bisou and the Hazelnut tartlet. The Bisou was topped with rose whipped cream which in itself felt off.. the center of white chocolate jello was dense , the pistachio paste was heavy and the base was soggy. The whole thing stuck to my upper palate. I was so disappointed since it looked absolutely gorgeous. The hazelnut tartlet had a good flavors, and had some crisp left in its texture, but I've had better pastry in Los Gatos downtown. The passion fruit had its signature sour flavor with a good amount of sweetness to balance it out. Pink rose latte had a beautiful color with a strong floral scent. The coffee was mellow, being balanced out by the milk and hints of sweetness. Matcha latte was OK. The matcha was present, but not very noticeable. The milk and sugar levels were light, so it wasn't overpowered. I can only conclude that the matcha itself had a weak flavor. Service - 4/5. Courteous and fast service. Value - 4/5. The spiral croissant was a good experience at a reasonable price of $7.50. This is their signature item that they are famous for, so having it be one of the most value added item is great. Me and my wife's first time to this place today right about before they closed and we ordered a spiral croissant and a chocolate cupcake, along with a hot mocha drink. We were surprisingly delighted with everything and were reminded of the delicious croissant we had in a recent Paris trip! FINALLY the girl filling the display asked what the next customer wanted. So the lines are more indicative of the speed of the servers. OK now on to the pastries... Hard to see what's available while in line - there's no "menu" and when people are standing in front of the display waiting hard to decide what you want... hhhmmm that probably didn't help the line either as it took me a while to decide as I moved further in the line. Also be aware - there's more as you round the display case.. SIGH so many beautiful pastries!! Had to control myself. The spiral croissants are the latest social craze but this is the third time I've tried Marvel. Quality is consistent and you can tell owner puts love and passion into her craft. Ambiance and packaging reminds me of a certain French based macaron brand ahem, so fancy and def great idea for gifting for any occasion. Aside from the small tarts, this time we purchase the Charlotte cake in the window display. The pistachio flavor was real and pronounced, $75 for quality! I am a regular to this place and have been coming back for their spiral croissants at least once a week for the last several months. I always take the bakery items to go and it's been great. Last week, since we had a holiday for Juneteenth, decided to take the entire family for a coffee and same pastries at the cafe and had the worst possible service imaginable. We were waiting for 30 minutes on the patio for someone to clear the table and none of the servers seemed to be in any hurry. Meanwhile, the three coffees we ordered were sitting next to the coffee maker getting colder by the minute. Finally, after several times of walking up to the counter and reminding that I had a party of 5 standing outside waiting for someone to assist us, one lady finally came by and seemed like she hated working there and had a grumpy face throughout. Very reluctantly, she cleaned the table and finally got us our items. The coffees were predictably cold and after all the waiting and frustration, I was in no mood to complain and wait 30 more minutes for a replacement coffee. We just finished what we got and left. We paid a service fee before at the counter when I paid for the bakery items, which was a let down as I received horrible service. The bakery items are good but the horrible service stood out so much that we couldn't enjoy a single bite of anything and left completely unsatisfied and disappointed. Marvel cake, you made my tummy happy. Once we arrived to the location, parking lot is pretty big. Once you get closer to the business location, parking gets a little tight but we found a spot with no issue. There was a line out the door. But they have a system in place to speed the process up. Absolutely loved visiting Marvel Cakes! I arrived on a Tuesday morning ~9:40am and was the first person in line. From all the hype I've heard, I was surprised to find I was the first and only person there. They opened the door for me right at 10am. When I turned around, I did end up seeing the line out the door, so I would definitely recommend arriving about 15 mins prior to opening. I walked in and everything was so clean and beautiful. They have outdoor seating and indoor seating as well. Of course I was there the try the infamous spiral croissant. I asked if there was a limit for each flavor, but on the weekdays there is no limit! So I grabbed some for friends as well and got 3 of each flavor; pistachio, strawberry, and chocolate. Their other desserts looked SO delicious as well, so I ordered the passion fruit tart and a lavender latte to eat with my croissant. Just absolutely delicious!!! The croissant was crunchy and flaky and the filling was plenty. I would recommend these fresh for the best flaky experience. The reason for docking is a star is the inconsistency of sizing that I noticed. Since I bought several, I noticed that some were smaller than the other!! If I'm paying ~$7.50 for a croissant, I would expect them to have consistency. But some were a lot larger than the other. I would also say that the strawberry and pistachio cream could use a little more flavor. Though delicious, I would request to have the strawberry and pistachio flavor to be a little more potent. What a wonderful ambiance this cute little cafe provides. Lots of parking. There is indoor and outdoor seating. You walk inside and you are transported elsewhere. So light and airy and beautifully decorated. Lots of women behind a well lit counter that was adorned by some beautifully decorated decadent desserts. There is even a parlor type seating area with little cute lamps on each table as if we were in a French cafe. This was a part of my mother's day treat. So glad I found this place and bookmarked it. I chose 5 desserts, tea and a lavender latte. I chose a rose shaped yumminess that was so vibrantly red it could have been an actual rose. It was rose water flavored and was so light with a hint of rose petals. We also chose a tiramisu and it was giving tiramisu. There was a pistachio dessert that had a great amount of pistachio pieces that was melt in your mouth. My youngest spotted some almond cookies he HAD to try. So we got a couple of those. The last dessert was a oreo dessert that made my youngest smile. The iced tea we ordered was a Jasmin Mandarin tea that I'd come back for even if just for the tea. It was a MARVEL-ous morning to have some pastries. Lots of Instagram feeds and tik tockers have raved about this place especially for that spiral stuffed croissant from that famous place in NY. So I had to try it. But does it live up to the hype? I'm mixed. Maybe with a few modifications. We had the pistachio and strawberry spiral croissant along with a savory potato and Parmesan pastry. Out of the two spiral croissants, the best one is pistachio in my opinion. Maybe the spiral croissant is over hyped because, personally, if I'm going to have a pastry, it'll be a kougin aman. The cream filling was delicious with the crispy, flaky crust. I personally thought that the potato Parmesan could have been heated. Decor is upscale. Definitely good for a business meeting or a date. Service was good. Get there early when they first open for best selection of croissants. Overall, bougie and expensive at $7.25-$7.50 a pastry. I came here because social media was raving about their spiral croissants. I got here 10 min after 10:00am because I heard the croissants sell out very quickly. Upon walking in, I noticed the aesthetics of the bakery and thought it was very pleasing. It definitely felt like I walked into a bakery in Europe. I ordered the chocolate, pistachio and strawberry croissants and didn't think it was that tasty. They were extremely hard and wasn't flaky. I think another reason might be because it wasn't warmed up. I also didn't like the custard inside of it. Probably wouldn't get order them again especially since they were on the pricier side. I did like the leek parmesan pastry because it was flaky and I could taste the leek inside. Overall, I think this is a very expensive cafe for the quality of the pastries that you get. read more
