A traditional Italian restaurant located in the Upper East Side of NYC, offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The service was very friendly and efficient. I had the Branzino fish with spinach for $29.75. I felt the fish had an odd taste. The others enjoyed their pasta and fresh gnocchi.

This is a great date spot - a little pricey, big portions, and dim lighting so you can make sure your date goes home full and impressed. My friend and I came at 7:30 on a weeknight - not busy at all, plenty of space. They have an extensive wine list but unfortunately don't price by the glass. We split the spaghettini pomodoro e basilico and the pollo alla bolognese - frankly, they were enough for two people and then some. A little salty but definitely flavorful and well prepared. The panna cotta for dessert was the perfect topper. All in all, a nice place for a quiet catch up meal!

Root lo di Pasta - ricotta, mozzarella, spinach - very good

Very good dinner. My husband started with the beef carpaccio and really enjoyed it. The beef was thinly sliced and there was a good amount of Parmesan cheese. He added a bit of salt because it needed a little more flavor. I got the salad which came with endive, artichoke, hearts of palm, Parmesan and lemon and olive oil dressing. It was light and tasty. My husband also got the fresh rolled pasta with spinach, ricotta, mozzarella and tomato sauce and really enjoyed it.

Great Italian in a great city.. This is a lovely little place on 1st Ave making genuine Italian food. The seafood risotto is lively as is the lasagne and shrimp linguini...

Whole lotta burrata :) didn't share- all mine!

Big fan of this Italian joint. Sat bistro style and had fun people watching in fresh air. Very intimate setting. Enjoyed the burrata with cherry tomatoes and pesto and didn't want to share. Did however Share a bottle of wine if you can tell by my review :) my salmon entree was cooked perfectly and Caesar salad was homemade goodness. Loved tasting the anchovies!

There are numerous locations now in the city but this was my first time going and I was definitely eyeing it for awhile. They do weekday lunch specials of $14 pastas, boozey weekend brunches for around $24/25(not including food), and $12 Sunday dinner specials on entrees as well as happy hours on weekdays from 4-7pm that include: $7 snacks, $8 wine, $5 beer, $9 spritzes, and $9 wells. I happened to come in for Labor Day Brunch on Saturday. We both said we were going to do unlimited but honestly could only finish about a pitcher of mimosa and they only charged us for the one pitcher was the nice part. I went with Carbonara Pasta and my boyfriend had the egg, bacon, and cheese sandwich with fries. I'm not gonna lie, I've never gone to aycd brunch and have not finished my food but I could not finish my entree it was so massive and filling. I haven't had a pasta this rich in ages and it was so so good and I am all for not having those skimpy little portions. He couldn't finish his sandwich either. I tried one of the fries and it was nicely battered thick cut wedge fries. Maybe I haven't been eating out alot lately but I was legit impressed. The staff was wonderful and thoughtful. The cafe in itself is very cute and Italian with black and white marble in the bathrooms, white marble bar top, hanging plants, interesting light fixtures. I'm definitely going to make a point to come back soon.

The restaurant was definitely exuding a rich Italian vibe with Aperol Spritz cocktails, $7.00 pizzas, citrus fruits and striped banquettes. I saw lots of patrons enjoying a Friday evening out after a long work week. Definitely a nice neighborhood cafe to wind down in. We ended up sitting at the bar since we were only there for happy hour. I had an Aperol Spritz and shared the happy hour $7.00 pizza with my friend. Both were very good. Spritz was a gorgeous summer color and flavor. Our bartender was busy but definitely acknowledged and attended to us respectfully. We were only there for a short amount of time and I did not get to the bathroom. The restaurant had a mature crowd and was presented in a clean and professional manner. I would enjoy spending more time here and having a proper meal. Looking forward to my next visit.

The tagliatelle was the star of the show, and having two cocktails to work through certainly didn't hurt the experience. The Bombshell was a fun choice, while the gin gimlet was a solid option for something a little more classic. L'Artusi has the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to linger over dinner instead of rushing through it. Definitely a good option if you're in the mood for Italian food and a proper cocktail in NYC. Would happily come back to try more of the menu. My only problem with New York is that there are too many places to eat and not enough meals in a day.

I booked a table for 6:30 p.m., noted that we were celebrating my mom's birthday, and specifically requested a nice table. Unfortunately, the experience fell well short of expectations, from the seating to the food. Although the restaurant was busy when we arrived, the check-in experience felt impersonal. No smile, no particularly warm greeting--just a perfunctory welcome before we were escorted upstairs and seated right next to a busy bussing station, with a garbage bin practically behind me. To make matters worse, fruit flies circled my mom's head throughout the meal, and no one seemed particularly concerned. We were seated promptly at 6:30 p.m., but within five to ten minutes, several more appealing tables for two, including booth seating, became available. Given that I had flagged my mom's birthday as a special occasion and requested a nice table, it was disappointing that no one seemed to have taken that request into consideration. We could easily have been asked to wait a few minutes for a better table rather than being seated beside the bussing station and garbage. Those tables remained empty for 20 min and a mother and daughter that were blonde were seated w a smile and then the other table was seated by a European looking couple. Good job. I could have overlooked the seating situation if the food had been exceptional. It wasn't. The Into the Woods cocktail was excellent and ended up being the only thing I genuinely enjoyed. The branzino had a distinctly fishy taste, which was particularly disappointing because I specifically gravitate toward branzino for its milder flavor. The bucatini was also underwhelming and seemed to be missing the chili. Honestly, even the tomato pasta at Eataly has better flavor, which floored me given the reputation L'Artusi has built. And it wasn't just our table. The diners seated next to me were sharing their dishes among themselves and commenting on how underwhelming the food was. They ultimately skipped dessert as well, remarking that nothing about the dessert offerings seemed particularly appealing after their experience with the main courses. Hearing other diners express the same disappointment only reinforced my impression of the meal. I had been looking forward to trying the desserts, too, but by that point, we had lost our enthusiasm and decided to skip them. When the overall experience is this lackluster, even dessert doesn't feel worth staying for. I had been so excited to finally get a reservation, especially after repeatedly hearing how difficult they are to come by. Now I find myself wondering what all the fuss is about. Neither the food nor the service justified the hype, and the experience certainly wasn't worth the time and car service from Midtown. I even left a 20% tip. Perhaps out of generosity of spirit--or perhaps it was the cocktail talking--but in hindsight, that felt more like charity than a reflection of the experience.
