Four of us selected the RICOTTA Toast for our first course: fresh ricotta, Italian linden spicy honey, figs, sliced almonds, toasted Tuscan bread ~ and it did not disappoint! So very delish. I opted for a salmon pasta for my second course: CONCHIGLIE AL SALMONE* handmade conchiglie, organic salmon, smoked salmon, cherry tomatoes, pink sauce, chili pepper, parsley - also very delicious. It was so tasty and the perfect texture. Two in my party had the TONNARELLI CACIO E PEPE: Pecorino Romano, freshly ground black pepper, 18-month aged Parmigiano-Reggiano - and raved about it. I'll have this next time! Two others had the PANINO CAPRESE: bufallo mozzarella, Kumato tomato, basil served with salad and roasted potatoes - and also loved it! We shared the pistachio cake for desert because we were all plenty stuffed. I have to mention that the bread we had for a starter with oil was also divine. This place was the perfect Italian spot. We were sat outside for a 9pm reservation on a Saturday night. It was great for the outfits we were wearing. We weren't dressed too fancy. Inside of the restaurant was very nice with dim lighting. A great date night spot. I loved my salad but I felt it was a bitch chewy if that makes sense. I ordered in bc I've had surgery and couldn't pick up. I called bc part of the order was missing. First call immediately after I unpacked the order. Told I would be called back. No call. Second call 2 hours later bc issue wasn't resolved told I would be called back after the manager was spoken to. No call. Called the following day bc the issue still isn't resolved. Amazing food, superb service, wonderful and intimate atmosphere. We were there with a large party and they could not have been more accommodating. Burrata with prosciutto was an absolute standout - maybe the best, the freshest burrata (supplied daily) I ever had. Tuna tartar and polpettini were also very tasty. We also shared T-bone steak special as a main course, "bistecca Fiorentina" style - I generally avoid steak at the restaurants, but this was a standout - perfectly cooked, great rosemary-infused flavor, just excellent. Felice 83 is a classic Upper East Side Italian Restaurant. This is the type of restaurant that, if I lived in the neighborhood, it would be a regular family go-to. I went with a large group for an event, and we started at the bar. This is the kind of place where, if you were a regular, they would greet you by name and know all your favorites. The bartender was very attentive to our entire group of women - and we were of all different races and sizes - and made sure we had drinks completely to our liking. A few of us ordered off the menu, and some had very specific drink orders. I wanted to stay at the bar because the bartender was so inviting, and it already felt like a good time! We moved to our table, and of course, the setup is beautiful and old style with beautiful plates, comfortable chairs, and lots of forks. I love places like this. I felt important. I mean, it's the Upper East Side after all. I wanted to be a little healthy, so I ordered a salad..... BUT that all went out the window when I saw Arancini on the appetizer menu. I ordered the Arancini and shared it with some people at the table. It was an ample serving and delicious. After, I ordered the Milanese as my main course. The traditional chicken Milanese came with wild arugula, roasted plum tomatoes, and freshly grated 18-month aged Parmigiano-Reggiano. I am not sure if this was a healthy dish, but I tricked myself into believing so. The salads and vegetables were incredibly fresh, and the chicken was fried perfectly and juicy. I used the lemon all over my dish, and my stomach was singing Italian operas and Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin songs. Some of my tablemates ordered pasta, and they were equally excited about the fresh pasta, the large servings, and the sauces and cheeses. This is a wonderful environment to throw a party. Our groups consisted of at least 10 people. I felt we were well taken care of at each point of the evening. The restaurant was full, and that did not impact our experience at all. Unfortunately I left underwhelmed by Felice 83. I think the ambiance was nice, it was pretty on the inside and was dimly lit. The service was good as well, they had a nice drink menu with some good options. However I was not impressed at all by the food. We tried a few different appetizers as pictured, but everything just missed the mark for me. Cacio e pepe is something that can be made so simply, but it seemed like they somehow messed up the sauce. It was extremely oily and watery, not at all creamy and barely any cheese flavor. I think there are certainly plenty more well executed italian restaurants in the nearby area, so I would not return. read more

Had an amazing experience at Felice 83 this past Friday night. My son and I were visiting the city and wanted an Italian dinner. We walked from the Met and had an 8:45 reservation. The hostess greeted us right away and sat us at a cozy booth. The restaurant was busy but our server was friendly and quick. I decided on a glass of wine- yum. We knew it was restaurant week but didn't think we would be able to participate since it was Friday. We were excited to find we could order the three courses even though we had a ton of food! My son decided on the ricotta toast and cacio de Pepe. I went with the calamari and chicken Milanese. We both had the tiramisu. Amazing!! The ricotta toast was wild with the figs and honey. The pasta was the perfect texture and sauce was delicious- even though I only got one bite! My son said it was his favorite meal of the trip. The chicken was great and was bigger than the plate. We had the milanesa, seafood linguine, a side of lemon spinach, organic orange wine and Italian beer, everything was delicious and well served. They also offered courtesy bread and olive oil. For starters, we ordered the Bruschetta and Polpettine. Bruschetta was so good and the tomatos were super fresh. The Polpettine is a MUST ORDER. Between the sauce and the veal meatballs, there's so much flavor. I could've easily ordered another dish. For entree, I had the Ravioli della Casa. Really good portion and the ricotta with the spinach was perfect. If you are super hungry, I would recommend ordering starters or sides to help complement the entree dishes. This is the other Italian restaurant on the corner of my street. It's a chain as there are multiple locations. I walk by it every day on my way to work and when I walk back home from work there's always people sitting outside on the sidewalk or in the little dining shed thing. On the weekends too it's a popular place. We decided to give it a shot. At night, the lights are dimly lit so it's really difficult to see the menu. There's a tiny little candle on the table but it's not enough so everyone was using their phone flashlight. So we also used our phone flashlight to read the menu. It was a busy night so service was a little delayed, but not by much. A got the fettucine bolognese and I got one of the specials of the night - the sea bass (I think). I hadn't had sea bass in a long time so i decided to go for it. Sea bass was cooked perfectly - not overcooked and had a nice lemon flavor to it. Also came with potatoes that tasted like they were fried but they clearly were not. The potatoes were really good but potatoes always fill me up really fast so I tend to not eat a lot of them. A liked his pasta dish. We also got tiramisu to share and it was a very good tiramisu, like up there in my favorites. So far, my favorite tiramisu was from Da Nonna Rosa in Brooklyn. My pal had the spaghetti in red sauce, it packed a punch of heat. You can sit outside in a heated booth or inside. Outside is quiet and romantic while inside is festive and darkly lit. I got delivery through seamless: This was terrible. The lettuce, artichokes and salad dressing rancid, the cheese excessively salty, the pasta was not cooked and the basil was brown plus the cheese on the pasta advertised as burrata was not burrata- it was just melted cheese. The food, which was 75 dollars with delivery fees, tip and tax, went into the garbage. Right after the review posted, I received a call from the restaurant and they offered to send something else or issue a refund. They issued a refund for the food portion of the seamless charges. Had a late dinner reservation at Felice. Little did I know there are several locations in Manhattan. My friend mistakenly made a reservation for outside seating. Good thing it was a warmer evening with heat lamps so we decided to stay. We ordered two apps and four entrees. The apps came out first. Then two entrees came, one was wrong so we sent it back. Since mine came out, I started eating. One of the wait staff came out and asked what was wrong. We informed him of the error and he went in to sort it out. The other three entrees took a lot longer than expected. There was a mix-up in the kitchen. After all the entrees came out, I believe the managers came out to apologize for the error and comped one of the dishes. It was quite amusing and we definitely appreciate their sincerity in correcting the mistake. They comped us for one dish. My food was decent. I wouldn't call it spectacular but the experience was surely interesting. I'd come again for their torta cioccolato e nocciola, you can call it a cake size ferrero rocher! read more

Pappardelle con Salsiccia - thin pappardelle stripes that are machine cut but fresh. Pappardelle can sometimes be thick and hand pulled and I tend to enjoy that version more but this was very thin, sheet like , still enjoyable. The sausage was yummy and fresh, savory. There was a mix of sausage crumbles and sliced/chopped pieces. FUSILI AL FERRETTO This handmade fusili was SO good and perfectly Al dente, like I expect from Italian restaurants. Great work here with healthy portion of tomato sauce . Would get this again TIRAMISU Soft, and oh so voluptuous and cloud like with the cream. Enjoyable. We waited outside in the heat then walked around 15 mins turned into - 30 mins turned -into 45 mins and we never got a text to be seated. Blessed with restaurant week pricing and menu options, this place had a great vibe to it reminding me of being back in Italy during the summer with plenty of classic Italian songs and ample specialty food items. To start I ordered the "vongole" (mussels) in red sauce which came to well toasted garlic drizzled slices of bread and plenty amount of sauce to do "scarpetta" (using the bread to soak up the red sauce in the dish). It was very well spiced and offered plenty of mussels to quench my appetite. My wife ordered mozzarella balls and a large dish of penne pasta with marinara sauce. The sauce itself did not appear to come from a can and felt homemade, a recipe that's reportedly kept secret by the chef himself. Plenty of other pizza options and pastas to choose from. But my favorite aspect of this restaurant was the playing of Italian songs from the 1950s and 60s including artists like Vasco Rossi and Ornella Vanoni. There are so many Felice restaurants in NY it can be considered a mini chain. I hadn't heard much about them before dining here, and it makes sense now that I've had a taste of their middling, traditional Italian fare served in neighborhoods like Columbus Circle, the Upper East Side, and the West Village. Places that serve plates of caprese salads and $27 bowls of pasta will attract crowds, as long as they don't completely mess up the food, and the Felice restaurants have that formula down to a science. The arancini we started with was an easy hit, with a crispy outer layer and flavorful interior of mozzarella, tomato, and rice. We followed that with a quinoa salad, Spaghetti alla Carbonara, and Fusilli Al Ferretto E Burrata. I was more excited for the fusilli because of the burrata, but the burrata portion was light and the San Marzano sauce a little flat. The carbonara had more flavor and the pasta had more bite to it, making it a more satisfying dish overall. The cocktails were more impressive than the food-- between the Aperol Spritz and Espresso martini I had both a nice buzz and caffeinated high for a long while after this meal. Anyone sensitive to caffeine be warned-- I had a hard time falling asleep after just one of these. We finished our meal with some gelati-- one scoop of pistachio and another of hazelnut. Felice 83 is a decent local spot but it's menu is limited and unexciting. I've ordered the pappardelle with sausage for takeout and it was quiet tasty. I ate in the restaurant for the first time for lunch with a friend. The bloody Mary was excellent with a nice spicy kick but not worth the $17 price tag. We both had the spaghetti carbonara which was cooked VERY al dente, which I happen to like, although I think most people would complain it was undercooked (I think it was actually). The sauce was rich as you would expect and very good. It's not a huge plate (I rarely ever finish a main course in a restaurant but this I did). But considering how rich it is, it was just enough, although not worth $26. My biggest quibbles were the inner seats had these uncomfortable leather cover and, as we were seated up front, we heard the rather obnoxious staff and their very unprofessional girl talk. One girl was dominating the conversation and her voice was loud and annoying. They apparently don't have much work to do and they make that apparent. These broads needed to take it down a lot notches. Very rude and off-putting. The manager stopped by to chat, though, and he was charming and nice. I don't mind spending a lot of money on good meals but Felice 83 was not worth it, even though the airhead chatter was included free of charge. read more
