LIVID!!!! My very first time using this fry cleaner and LAST!! I dropped off two coats and REQUESTED dry cleaning since they are supposed to be a dry cleaning service. One of my coats were white. What happened?!?? They don't follow request and chose to machine wash my coat leaving the black areas of the coat to bleed all over the white parts!! Newsflash: I didn't bring a coat to the cleaners to be machine washed! They call to let me know by asking where did I get the coat?? What does it matter?!!? It was a Marc Jacobs coat! Why can't you take care of clothing properly??? Since that's ur business!!! I will never use this service again. I only wore the coat a handful of times. They ruined a perfectly good coat. Needed some stuff dry cleaned on short notice and happened to find this place. Figured I could trust them considering they were a chain, and they were able to meet my time frame. I even checked them on my Yelp app while I was sitting in the parking lot before going in! Prices are average but bordering on steep, staff is OK, quick turn-around, and the clothes looked good. Problem is, they "misplaced" BOTH of my dry cleaning bags. One of them was a suit bag from Macy's and the other was a very nice, big eco-friendly vinyl one that I use for drop off and pick up. I expect that if I drop off my clothing in my bags I will get them BACK in the bags. The attendant at pick-up didn't seem to think this was a problem, and claimed they'd look and have the manager call me. Waited 4 days, no phone call. So I call and speak to the manager, who had no idea what I was talking about, and again, said she'd look and call me back. Week later, still no call back or apology or found bags. Neither bag is replaceable. The Macy's one came with my boyfriend's suit, and was very nice. The other one was purchased at a dry cleaner in Florida. Both of them had ID tags and dry cleaning instructions/preferences on them. Sure, I can go out and get 2 new bags somewhere, but that's not the point.. I want my stuff back!! Plus, why should I have to eat the replacement cost? If I can't trust a dry cleaner to keep track of my bags then I can't trust them to keep track of my clothes. read more

When I made the move to Royal Oak I wasn't sure where to do my dry cleaning, so I kept making the trek back to my old cleaners. Well, I am happy to say that I finally have a dry cleaners in Royal Oak. The staff at is friendly and helpful and they have super fast turn around. They are open later during the week, so getting there after work is no problem. I went to have my dress pants dry cleaned. In my room when I took out the pants from Martinizing's plastic bag all this "dust" came out. It was not anything I could see. It was something that I breathed in and could feel in my thoat. It had a taste to it that reminded me of sand. It has no smell to it. I was really worried that I ruined my health. The thought that I had ingested PERC raced thru my mind. To resolve the issue I took the pants outside and shook them for several minutes. Then I used a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to suck any left over particles from the pants. To clean my room I used a swiffer sweeper cloth on all surfaces to make sure any leftover poison was gone. I just can't believe this happened. I will try doing my dry cleaning at home how now on. read more

Formerly a great place. The new manager is just rude. They washed sweaters instead or dry cleaning them. Sweaters shrank.

This place is close and convenient, but is over priced. The staff is nice, but unaware of how to answer questions or complaints. This is what happened to me today that made no sense. This is the e-mail I sent to the company: "I am sending this e-mail because I am irritated about one of your discounts that makes no logical sense. I frequent the Martinizing location in Royal Oak, Michigan. Since I have one of your bags, I simple go in and drop my bag off and leave. When I came to pick up my dry cleaning I was told I needed to pay $16 for my dry cleaned sweaters although there was a sign saying, '3 sweaters for 8.99.' I asked the lady at the counter why I was paying more for less service. Her response was, 'I don't know that's just the way it is.' Then I asked why she didn't tell me when I dropped off my clothes since it would have made financially more sense to bring in a third sweater, for which she could not answer. I didn't argue with the employee who gets paid $10 an hour because they didn't create the dumbfounding stipulations of this discount. If your company was smart, the deal would have been 'Up to 3 sweaters for $8.99' However, I was the unfortunate person who brought in two sweaters and got ripped off. I think you should be more considerate of your sales and marketing efforts because I'm sure I'm not the only individual who was pissed off by this." read more

My family has used Martinizing Dry Cleaning for as long as I can remember and they ALWAYS do an incredible job. The prices are competitive and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I have never had an item of clothing come back that didn't meet or surpass my expectations. Somehow they've always managed to get those tough marks I thought would be stains out! What I'd really like to brag about though is their unparalleled customer service. Since getting married, I began taking my husbands clothes and our fur blankets for dry cleaning here. Since I was technically a new customer in their system about a week later I received a note thanking me for my choice to use them. It's personal touches like this that make a lasting impression. DO NOT EVER GO HERE if you care about your clothes!!! This place is absolutely horrid. They have the worst customer service I have ever dealt with from a corporate and local level. They destroyed a brand new dress of mine and tried to get out of it. They put it in the washing machine which ruined it and then lied about it. I brought the dress to a dry cleaners to have it DRY CLEANED. Unbelievable. It took a over a month and half to resolve going back and forth constantly between the store managers, the non existent regional manager and corporate. Corporate claims they can't really do much because the stores are privately owned... really!?!? You care that much about your brand that you claim you can't really do anything besides send an email to the owner and hope that they respond. Never again. read more

WORST PLACE EVER. I only went here because it was the closest cleaners to my house and I wasn't sure where else to go. Horrid customer service and cleaning! A few items of clothing were ruined (they reimbursed me with credit, which is why I made the unwise decision to use it) and when I went back I had a sweater ruined! That was the final straw. I have lived in Royal Oak for almost a year and a half. Martinizing is more expensive than most but I like the same day dry cleaning service and the value they provide is worth it or so I thought! The first issue I had is that they ruined a shirt of mine and I asked for the manager to call me. I never received a call even after I reminded them. Then they lost a pair of my pants and I filled out a form but again the manager never called me. Now they have ruined two of my shirts with a blue dye. It appears that they use this chemical to spot treat but both of my shirts are ruined. I am so frustrated that I am posting on Yelp for the first time ever! It is not about the money but a lack of respect for my business! I spend about $45 a week at this location and they do not care about my business. I have never been more frustrated about a company than I am right now! I quit you! I will not recommend you in fact I will give you a negative review every chance I get! I know I cannot impact your profits in any meaningful way but I will make sure that I do not contribute to your company and that my friends do not contribute to your company! I am a business person and in business you want raving fans! You do not want raving detractors! I am a raving detractor! I would appreciate you reaching out to me so that I can speak to you live!
