    Butter Almond scrod
    Nai A.

We went here for dinner and the place is considered a nicer restaurant in the area where you can get dressed up in a cocktail dress and go to a fancy place. Although I wouldn't call it super fancy. They do have a bar area with plenty of seating. The menu is really big and I so we were hesitant about the food since it was all of our first time. The stuffed peppers (no pic) were amazing! The mozzarella sticks were just regular frozen mozzarella. I got the butter almond Scrod, it was really good and cooked perfectly but not a lot of almonds on it. The ribs and steak were amazing! The last person ordered the combo seafood pasta and he was very disappointed with it. I didn't get a picture because he was upset and I didn't want to make him more upset. But the pasta had no sauce, no flavor, no parsley, no cheese. It was just spaghetti pasta and not even a lot of seafood to make it worth $40. Also the side salad was sad. It came out with 7 pieces of lettuce and a few cucumbers and tomatoes. 3/4 ordered a baked potato and they were sold out so one opted to get broccoli. They were out of that too. The green beans were cooked perfectly. Also not sure why each dish came with a side of onions and tomatoes or pieces of lettuce. I guess that's there for presentation purposes but it wasn't necessary. Waitress was friendly and helpful but she wasn't as attentive as she could have been.

Nice local spot, great ambiance and The Best homemade Cheesecakes that I have ever had! Originally had the Ashtabula Country Club as its backdrop, now it overlooks a newly formed/converted metro park.

Celebrated New Years Eve here. It showed they tried planning a nice evening. Overall, it was a good experience. I would recommend next year they get extra wait staff. They were so short staffed that people were yelling at the waitresses! One table was so rude our table almost went over to "tone them down". Our waitress was Jordan. She was trying hard but was overwhelmed. It might also help to put the party "favors" on tables at beginning of night. One last recommendation, widen rows between tables so people aren't getting bumped into by people trying to get to dance floor. The food was decent. A few orders were prepared incorrectly. Sufficient help could also resolve that. Fix these things and it will make a decent experience into a nice experience. Jordan, thanks for trying so hard to make our night great and you are commended for taking the high road and smiling when people were being undeservedly ignorant.

The Capt was onboard from the laker. This changes everything, a floating bar for the lakers!!!! This was back in the day early 90's. Well. It was on. Sonny II aka the bum boat, used yo shuttle supplies to the lakers all along the harbor. And was a bar for the mens & ladies while alongside. A great seafaring tradition. Sonny B the sister ship is the water taxi up at PIB. Well for many years now at Ashtabula harbor the bum boat is tied up & open to the public fully licensed sit down bar. The owners are really nice. Live music, have a drink. Fairly large menu board too. I didn't know they had food tbh. It was great chili dog. As good & very similar to skyline. If u love shipping, history, music & dranks, and who doesn't in Ashtabula harbor, get ur arse down to the bum boat & have a blast. It's so unique u will never drink in another place like it. circa 1930. BEAUTIFUL NEW SIGN check it out. 5 star dive bar!!

I usually get my 3 item BBQ combo so I don't stand there salivating at the menu and looking like a crazy person. lol! I love the combos as you can gather up the delicious BBQ sauces (do NOT tell me to pick one- I will cry as every single one is delicious). Should out to the mustard one. This girl here does not like mustard- and I usually snag two containers of that magic stuff. If you go in the afternoon during the summer- you get a beautiful view of the Harbor bridge and some awesome sailboats breezing by. The staff is smiling and fast. The only downside is- the BBQ is so good, our friends the local bees want it all to themselves and have been known to chase me around a few chairs outside. lol. I'm still leaving my 5 star because I'm not letting the bees win. Not sharing Mr Bumble, so buzz off. Literally.

My wife and I came to this spot over a decade ago, and just recently introduced it to a group of friends while we were up in the area on a winery weekend excursion. A super small and intimate space, it is really fun to watch Alessandro perfect his craft in such a small kitchen...honestly it is amazing! Service was very pleasant and attentive, although meal prep time is longer than normal due to the unique nature of this restaurant...but trust me, it is worth the wait! We each started with a small house salad while we sipped our wine and munched on fresh bread. Then came the calamari, served in a small bowl of herbed rich tomato-based broth with chunks of crusty bread for sopping up the delicious sauce. For my main dish, I chose one of the nightly specials which was veal osso buco. It was so meaty, so rich and full of flavor that it was hard to put my fork down! Everyone around the table raved about their meal choice, and we all left with full bellies and smiles on our faces. Definitely don't sleep on this place and don't let looks deceive you from the outside...because inside is the real deal!

"Since You've Been Gone" Sandwich - A Masterpiece!…read more If you're anywhere near Ashtabula and you haven't tried Fire! Chicken yet, you're missing out on a culinary experience that will absolutely change your life. I stopped in for their flash special, "Since You've Been Gone" ($14)--fried (or grilled) chicken, housemade deli roast beef, RB sauce, horseradish, and liquid cheddar--and I can't stop thinking about it. Pro tip: Add bacon. Trust me, it transforms this already mind-blowing sandwich into the best alternative to a turducken you'll ever find at a chicken shack. I paired mine with their fried pickles as a side, and it was the perfect complement to an already perfect meal. The magic is in the details. They nailed the ratios--nothing was overpowering, not even the horseradish, which is notoriously tricky to balance. Every sauce added to the sandwich's bold and unique flavor profile without competing for attention. And the textures? Unreal. Juicy chicken, crunchy breading, soft and warm bun--it was a symphony of flavors and textures in every bite. And those fried pickles? Game-changing. They brought just the right amount of tangy vinegar and a hint of garlic while doubling as the perfect mop for any extra sauce. Shoutout to the team: * Chicken Daddy? Playing 4d chess with this recipe. * The cook? Clearly working magic in the kitchen. * My waitress? On top of her game with quick refills and great service. This special gets a 10/10. Don't sleep on it. Get in here and treat yourself--you'll thank me later! What do you think? I'm just hoping next year we'll be able to look back on this as the first year of a new Yule-time tradition!
