I do not remember how I heard about this restaurant, but I started following them on FB before we even tried their food! Their FB posts were so funny and creative! So finally we made the drive to Ashtabula to try these sandwiches! I was really surprised at the area it was in. It reminds me of Tremont in CLE. A little TRENDY area that is so different from the rest of the city. It sits on the harbor, and you can see a lot of boats docked there for winter. The owner, Jeremy took our order and is so proud of his establishment, and his connection with his customers! And we could see that his customers love him back by the notes they leave on the table upstairs! We got the Fire Chicken Sandwich, coleslaw, mac n cheese and sidewinder fries! That is almost the whole menu! LOL The sandwich is Delish! The breading is different from everyone else's !! The twisty fries are thick and soft on the inside but crispy outside. The coleslaw is more vinegar based, and usually I prefer that.. but it was, I don't know, almost bitter tasting. I think they may want to change that up since Jeremy admitted that it is not his biggest seller. But the mac n cheese is a Huge hit with his customers and we can see why! It actually has cheesy flavor, and the texture is smooth and it is Yummy!! The Owner, Jeremy is very concerned about his customers experience and even takes Special Care of his regular clients!! Yeah, I ain't going to lie, that chicken sandwich was pretty damn fire! I applaud them for picking one dish, and doing it right. I ordered the OG, which I would rate as "just spicy enough". The chicken was light and crispy, not greasy at all, nor soggy, even after sitting in the bag for the twenty or so minutes it took me to get home. I mean, I can't say a bad thing about it. Probably the best fried chicken sandwich I've ever had. How does it compare to the "Gold Standard", God's own chicken sandwich from Chick 'fillet? I'd honestly say its better. While not much to write home about on the inside, the food was delicious! The box is huge and could easily be shared with another person. My son enjoyed one of the sandwiches. He is very particular when it comes to fried sandwiches and likes spice as well. It met both expectations. The lady at the front was very nice and helped us make decisions. These sandwiches are amazing! I live in Houston and come back to Ashtabula to visit family. We were told the shop opened up so we gave it a try. Best chicken sandwich I've had in a very long time! Their batter is super crunchy,great spice, and not greasy. Their chicken is good quality meat. They don't use the cheap rubbery saline filled. We tried the macaroni and cheese too. Really good Cole slaw. My wife was disappointed in their chicken as she ordered spicy but didn't think it was that spicy. When you ordered the spiciest, they just pour hot sauce over it. I tried a spicy chicken nugget and thought it had a nice kick. I think my wife and I just compared it to Hot Chicken Takeover in Columbus which has the spice bakes in with the breading and not the sauce.
