Food was great! Had a buffalo chicken slider with fries and my wife and mother-in-law shared the Thursdays-only stromboli. All fabulous. There were only three on-tap beers ... but beers were on tap so that's somethin'! Not the best ambiance but certainly good enough. We were heading from Cleveland to Niagara Falls and got off an exit to get some lunch. We didn't see much so we decided to head to Ashtabula to eat. It was bit out of the way but we enjoyed the drive. We saw the sign for Dublin Down Irish Pub and decided to stop in. It is a rather dark building more like a pub atmosphere. I am not sure why it bills itself as an Irish pub as there were very few Irish dishes. Based on our server's recommendation we ordered the Celtic Burger which was topped with bacon, cheddar, lettuce, and tomato. We had her bring the curry mayo on the side instead of on the burger. The burger was really good as were the accompanying fries. We also got the small salad with crispy chicken. The lettuce was fresh and crisp. The chicken was well cooked. We also got a slice of delicious homemade peanut butter pie to go. read more

Nice find on a Main Street, which has seen better days I'm sure. Free street parking and it looks like it may have outdoor seating for warmer days. I came to try the Rueben which was decent. I like mine with some hot sauce, but they apparently did not have any. The fries are not fresh cut, but are beer battered and tasty. They didn't really have many other items I'd associate with Irish food. They have a few Irish beverages, but sort of was hoping for a better selection. read more

We ate here for the first time today. I had the grilled chicken wrap with fries and it was very good. The fries are amazing and we dipped them in curry mayo. All of the food that came to the table looked amazing and the burgers were big! I would love to try this place again next time I'm in town. The staff is very nice and it's cozy inside. read more

Awesome food and service. Truly a hidden gem of the area. Has the best Dagwood Club sandwich EVER!!! I'm not one to ever boast on a club sandwich cause they are what they are but this gigantic piece of art was so amazing and delicious I was stuffed. The fries were perfectly cooked with a crisp coating and soft middle. I will keep them on my return to list for sure. End of a great day with spectacular food!!! read more

This place is more then just a restaurant, it has a cool little bar and out door atmosphere. They always do special events for holidays and big sporting events. This little storefront with a nice outdoor area sits in a distressed part of the old central downtown, and the food belies its modest exterior. While the printed menu is standard pub fare, and there is little that is truly genuine Irish, the gems are on the specials board. We had the Lake Perch sandwich from the paper menu and the Hot Stuffed Peppers from the Specials board. The Perch was perfect - just the way fried fish should be, and the fries were great. The Stuffed peppers were Hungarian with meatball filling in a divine red sauce. Served with a salad with Raspberry vinaigrette dressing and garlic toast it was really special. Service from our server was exactly what we needed - friendly and personal, and a great end to a long car trip of the day. read more

They had ordered by the time we decided to join so I didn't get to look at the menu- it is a very small menu as of right now I do know that. We had a large pepperoni pizza and OMG it was amazing! We just happened to find Dublin Down while staying nearby. My husband had the Dubliner and I had the spaghetti and meatballs and we had the peanut butter pie for dessert. Everything was amazing!! The atmosphere and service were great! Our server, named Temple, was friendly and helpful and we chatted with the owner, Dave, who treated us like friends when we had just met. This is now called Stake Out under new ownership! Got the 10oz flat iron, much to my surprise the steak was cooked correctly, it was a home style off the shelf grill mate flavored steak.. This visit started and end poorly, the service was slow and unorganized, Friday nite of a holiday weekend and had no potatoes in the building to go with dinner, the one serving of bread that came to the table was an embarrassment two tiny hunks of bread.. Salad was okay, but basically nothing in it! They serve soda in small wine style glasses they are empty after 2 drinks, then remain empty because of poor service. Price would have been a great deal if everything else did not go bad.. Should note I think the owners wife waited on us, because the one other server was busy. The "husband" owner walked past my empty glass that I had perched at the end of the table 9 times and never offered to fill it! No need to go back! read more

Ashtabula's best kept secret! Great food, really great atmosphere, friendly staff. Outside dining available with huge screen to watch the games. Karaoke nights, corn hole in the summer, excellent burgers, pizza and other fun foods. Fries are yummy. Fried zucchini is amazing!!! Lived here 8 years, this has been open for 2 and we just found it.
