The house bread is also fantastic. Soft, crispy, and fresh. Service is not the quickest, so don't come in a rush. Come if you've got time to spare and want a top notch meal. The Capt was onboard from the laker. This changes everything, a floating bar for the lakers!!!! This was back in the day early 90's. Well. It was on. Sonny II aka the bum boat, used yo shuttle supplies to the lakers all along the harbor. And was a bar for the mens & ladies while alongside. A great seafaring tradition. Sonny B the sister ship is the water taxi up at PIB. Well for many years now at Ashtabula harbor the bum boat is tied up & open to the public fully licensed sit down bar. The owners are really nice. Live music, have a drink. Fairly large menu board too. I didn't know they had food tbh. It was great chili dog. As good & very similar to skyline. If u love shipping, history, music & dranks, and who doesn't in Ashtabula harbor, get ur arse down to the bum boat & have a blast. Both of us were very satisfied by our selections. I also enjoyed the cheeseburger and fries that I got from their outdoor grill. The burger was about a third of a pound, and topped with your choice of cheese, lettuce, tomato, and/or onion. It was cooked perfectly, and I enjoyed eating it in their outdoor seating area, in a grassy location nestled under the trees. Beautiful setting, with lots of plants and flowers. An added bonus was the live music provided by a band that entertained us.

Everyone, the servers and the patrons too, could not have been nicer with helping us get around (I never realized how difficult it was for people in wheelchairs and their Care Giver until my wife began using her wheelchair. Super rude woman bartender. I am originally from Ashtabula and live in Cleveland now . I drive more…read morethan an hour to meet my friends at this bar because the wings are good and it's a cheap place to get beer with a decent quiet atmosphere. However, the last three times I have made it to this establishment, the bartender complains how many years she's been there and how miserable she is. She is not friendly. I tolerate her because I'm happy to be with my friends and the food is decent. Last night. After driving over an hour to get there. We arrived at 7 PM. We sat down at a booth and the woman bartender stared at me for almost 5 minutes. Never came over to ask what we wanted. Just glaring at us, and I didn't understand. Maybe she didn't want to serve us? Maybe it's a rule that you have to get up and ask for your drinks and menu at the bar? But when you're in a booth. I would imagine it's customary for the bartender to come over and ask what you want. Especially since there were only maybe five customers at the bar. It was a little embarrassing because I brought my brother for his first time. After waiting her out and figuring she wasn't going to come over, I got up and ordered our drinks and asked for a menu. She said the drive-through was closed. I didn't know what that meant. Apparently the "kitchen" was is closed. At 7 PM on a Saturday night. Wing night? $$$$ Oh well. We went to another bar and were treated very well. Our waitress was wonderful and I gave her a great tip. Too bad for a rude girl! We will not go back now. After all these years. I can't take it anymore.
