On Saturday, we drove to the Madison Ohio area to sample wines from a few vineyards. Grand River…read moreCellars was our first stop. We love the ambiance here. It's a wooded setting, which offers plenty of shade, and makes outdoor seating so nice. They also have a nice bar area indoors, if that is your preference. The servers are very polite and amiable. We enjoyed a bottle of Grand Red, which had a nice full bodied flavor. Very nice wine.

She said yes, and then put me on hold to ask her manager if we could sit on the upper patio since it wasn't very busy. She said they would make an exception, so we drove out from another winery. After finding a table off to the corner (there were only two other tables occupied at the time)- the waitress said we had to move across the "parking lot" to an open gazebo that was clearly not set up for service yet. So we moved, but since we were in nowhere land we decided to just put the dog in the car to enjoy our wine back on the patio. I understand if you are not dog friendly, but I did call ahead and wouldn't have showed up if I knew we weren't going to be sitting within distance to enjoy the atmosphere. As for food - we ordered the artichoke dip and it had about 3/4 cup of dip - the rest was a chunk of bread. Margarita pizza was good. We'd come back again, but bummed how the evening went.

Just hit this place last weekend. The Pinot Noir Reserve, although pricey, is very good…read more The Chardonnay Cuvee is also tasty. Steel not oak, a little buttery, but also a little hot. Not bad for Ohio wines though. The location, and the place for that matter, is pretty rustic. The woods are close by in the back. The wine bar is small and can get quite crowded. Behind the wine bar are tables where you can enjoy a glass or bottle. I've been here three times and have had the same person at the wine bar each time. She's very nice and tries very hard to help with the wines. I was trashing one of the other area wineries in discussing her wines, which I believe contributed to a 5% discount on 6 bottles (not a standard practice) and no sales tax. It probably didn't hurt that I bought a couple of the Reserves. So on customer service alone, this place is a winner. As a bonus, they participate in the Ice Wine Festival every March (two weekends, usually the first two). They have very good Ice Wine, but it is a bit more expensive than South River Winery's. Definitely want to include this place on the circuit through the Grand River Valley.

First off first thing thru the door this place smells of mold and mildew so bad I couldn't even stay inside . But while I was trying to wait with my friends so they could get a sample ( I didn't want anything from a place that smells like this ). The staff was so rude and unprofessional it wasn't even funny. I eventually had to go outside I couldn't take the smell a few of my friend s also had to go outside due to the smell . This place is unremarkable so please do not waste your time or your money !! If I could leave zero stars I would but you can't !
