Very disappointing. We had guests and decided to try their pizza for take-out. The pizza sauce is…read moresickeningly sweet and had no Italian flavor at all. The dough was bland... more like cheap bread dough than pizza dough, and the mozzarella tasted like low-quality, rubbery cheese that lacked real dairy flavor. Everybody took one bite and just left it on their plate. What a waste. Luigi's ought to seriously reconsider the ingredients used in their pizzas.

In the last 6 months it's found some new specials new drinks a little more fire. That new fire I mention - it hits the menu in ways like the Thanksgiving egg rolls (yes get the gravy dip) - these may have me wishing that Thanksgiving in June was a thing instead of Christmas in July. The sweet potato french fries (baller move). The orange Jameson summer drink - crisp and refreshing. Carrying Fatheads Spooky Tooth (just thank you), wing night (chef's kiss). Local places sometimes get into the same same same (the good but not the draw to come in sooner) The Village Pub has changed that, flipped the script with rotating special menus, a brunch (think coming back soon) and drink mixes that you may not have made before - all of that with friendly staff & true short drive from everywhere in Perry what's not to love?

I get it ALL the time because it is not only consistently delicious, and perfect (did I mention I'm a PICKY pain in the arse?) I had a couple of Chinese food places on the West side which were good, and also two Thai places- but Hong Kong King blows all of them away. They're reasonable! And the owner who always greets me is adorable. I also am thrilled because I can also get my Bubble Tea fix in!!! Yay for Taro Bubble Tea! Rora had a Green Tea from here and her Tofu with Brown sauce- she's also picky. It passed the Rora test too. It is for the time being a take out only, and that's just fine for me. I do see renovations getting closer, so maybe in the future it'll be a Buffet again. I love their food though- YUM! When I first moved out here to the Geneva area, I told friends that I needed to have a good Chinese place! Since I had four that I frequented back on the west side -that was a sore spot with me moving to the east. When Hong Kong King buffet reopened post covid, I was practically beating down their door lol! I will also say on the consistency of the food here everything I've ordered is always cooked perfectly and delicious! Give this wonderful little treasure a try and don't forget to grab yourself a bubble tea too!
