The service was excellent. We had the salmon and the walleye and both were good portions and were delicious!

Four of us stopped in for a drink. We enjoyed our drinks and conversation with the bartender. We had ordered a pour of Buffalo Trace, Widow Jane, a beer and a Manhattan. She wasn't sure how to make the manhattan but eventually poured a nice drink. We got our bill and the two special pours of bourbon and the beer were 28 dollars. For the simple Manhattan we were charged 30 dollars. We told her this was crazy but she refused to listen. We paid the bill but I will never set foot in this place again. What could have been a good memory of Geneva on the Lake and GOTL brewery was completely ruined. If you do go to this place, and I recommend you don't, make sure you ask the price of anything you order. read more

Great food and views. We started with the burrata and the pretzel, which were both tasty. For my entree, I split the Black Rock Grill Experience with the filet along with shrimp. It was delicious! After a busy day on the strip, all I wanted to do was sit down and have a nice dinner with my family. This place was moderately busy, not slammed for a Saturday night. The lake view was gorgeous! The food took an exceptionally long time to arrive. We started with the crab cakes. They were tasty, but overall quite mushy. I've read other reviews where people rave about them. About how crispy and wonderful they were. Not even close. We then ordered 2 Angus strip steaks on a stone and a Mahi tuna on the stone. After we placed our order, our waitress disappeared. Like it was a magic act. No refills were offered, no checking in with us. Nothing but crickets. We had to flag down other servers to get anywhere. Our dinner took damn near 40 minutes to arrive! We almost got up and left! (In hindsight, we should have! ) Every other table around us was receiving excellent service! A group even came in 20 minutes AFTER US and received their dinner BEFORE US! The steaks and tuna were exceptional! It's a really cool concept to cook your food as you like over a super hot stone! However, I have a major complaint as far as the sides go. For the price point of those dinners, using instant mashed potatoes was not okay! C'mon, guys! I know you can do better! This overall experience was very disappointing. Especially for the amount of money we spent there. We ended up letting a manager know about our situation, and she was nice enough to handle it immediately. She adjusted our bill accordingly. Unlike our waitress. I won't say names because I don't want to ruin her, but we'll call her C. Shame on you, C! The only saving grace about this place for me was the view. There's a really nice patio with a beautiful view of the lake. I was very disappointed as a vegetarian because there was hardly anything for me to eat. In 2025, restaurants should have at least one vegetarian entree to accommodate everyone. The only thing I was able to eat was the pierogies on the appetizer menu. It wasn't a very substantial meal to fuel up before a night out on the strip. During a long weekend in GOTL, we were all a little underwhelmed with the food options in town, so I wasn't really expecting one of the best meals to be at the in town brewery. But I'm pleased to have been wrong! They have an extensive beer/cocktail list, with only a few house brews. So I got a can of peach cider that was on the sweet side, but very good. For my meal, I opted for the honey garlic chicken, with mashed potatoes and green beans. The chicken was falling apart, which is hard to do, and oh so good with the honey garlic sauce. Fresh green beans, well cooked, and the mashed potatoes were a hit, too. We really enjoyed the meal and the outdoor patio is great, but there was a storm rolling in so we didn't enjoy as much of the view as we had hoped. THE view of the lake! We were looking up and down the strip for a place to grab a beer and simultaneously view the sunset over the lake. GOTL has a PERFECT view that so many spots nearby don't offer. They should advertise on the view alone. We got beers and sat on their patio directly on the lake. The house beers are great and they also have food options. The servers were nice and so kind knowing that we were only there to see the sunset and grab a quick drink. So this place has been on my list for the last few years as we go to Geneva one weekend a year and this year, I finally got to try it. It did not disappoint. There's both indoor and outdoor seating with great views. The beer selection is vast. Hubby loved the banana bread beer! The food we had was very good though I wish I had gone for the steak. It literally cooks while it's on your table! Instead, I opted for a burger with potatoes. Very yummy! Our waitress was great about splitting the bill between our family and our friends even though we were intermingled at the table. The menu noted that there would be an automatic 20% tip on tables of 8 or more but she didn't charge that so we were sure to tip extra. Can't wait to go back next year. read more

All the food was delicious. I got the filet on the black stone, the red potatoes, and the green beans. The flavor of the filet on the stone was phenomenal. The red potatoes were seasoned and cooked perfectly. The green beans had good flavor and cooked perfect. They were firm and not floppy or limp like most places. My husband got the Gorgonzola steak tortellini and that was just as delicious. Our view was overlooking Lake Erie and was also beautiful. The sign out front says "Brewing Company"... the menu has maybe 60 beers and only two are brewed here. Maybe that qualifies as brewing... I have three on tap at my house that I brewed. I don't think of my place as a "Brewing Company" though. We stopped in with the thought of having a flight while sitting by the lake. They have 10 on tap. So it's conceivable that we could have picked half their available beers for that. Lol with two of us we could have tried them all. So, after the initial disappointment of just two brews, we looked through the menu for something we might like. When our waitress stopped by we asked her about some low IBU, high ABV choices... she was not familiar with these characteristics of beer. But promised to as the bartender. Hey if you include the word "Brewing" in the name of your business, at least talk to the wait staff about what you serve. We ordered a hot pretzel. It showed up in a few minutes... we researched their beer choices on our phones while we waited. Our waitress returned, but must have forgotten to ask the bartender. We had picked a cider via our research, so we went with that and ordered two. Plus we asked for some napkins since the pretzel was buttery. The pretzel was good, by the way. When she returned with the ciders, she must have forgotten the napkins ... The cider was decent... They have a good view of the lake... that is the main characteristic worth mentioning about this place. It's not as bad as a few breweries I have been in, but absent the view... this place would rant in the lower 5%. I would not bother to go if I had not been... I don't know where to even start with this place! The service was incredible and fast. The food was amazing. I got the Certified angus strip w/ garlic mashed potato's and waffle fries. The angus was brought on a volcanic rock slab and cooked while I was sitting there and eating sides. It was one of the best steaks I've had. The potato's were also just as amazing. I was to full to eat all my fries but they were okay a little to crunchy for me but good. I also got the Mermaid Water which was so good! I would recommend this place! The steak was surprisingly good. I was a little hesitant because of the cooking method but it turned out great. If you get a salad, ask for the dressing on the side. Lettuce was swimming. If you get a drink, I would stick to beer or wine. The vodka was very watered down. Two different kinds of vodka, the kettle one and the titos. Like obviously watered down. Went there Saturday evening. The food is descent and priced as you would expect for a tourist area. The atmosphere is really nice with the lake view and outdoor seating. Our server was very good and there was no rush to leave after your meal. The negative that I found is with the beer pricing. My wife had a 16oz pale ale and I opted for the 24oz. When the bill came, the 16oz was $7 (which was fine) but the 24oz, (only 8 ounces more) was $13. Why would the cost per ounce be so much more for the 24oz size? Covid-19 Review: Beautiful, stunning views of Lake Erie! From the moment you walk through the front door there is a total "wow factor" Tons of outdoor seating, both on the deck and near the outdoor bar area (which looks like a super fun time by the way) My friends and I stopped for a brew, and an app (my favorite type of adventure in a town like this) and we were pleasantly surprised! Our server was extremely friendly, and helpful with menu items - even helped us decide on a good home brewed beer! I was also very happy that she was wearing her mask properly the whole time. The appetizer of choice was a chicken quesadilla with the chicken on the side... gosh, vegetarian friends are the worst aren't they ;) The quesadilla was packed, and super delicious. Again, I wish we would have ordered several! I was surprised with the food quality being so great, and would most definitely stop back again. There's a cool outside bar overlooking the water and tons of table seating inside and outside (also facing the water) for groups large and small. Well they say brewery but don't get your hopes up for a variety of great brews, of course to find this out you may have sat at the bar, knees against the wood, no counter overhand, no hook for ladies purses and the slowest bar person without a smile or hello until it was tip time and then it was forced and quick! This was Sunday afternoon at three. Staff purses and smokes on the not so clean outdoor bar were protected by the circling flies. The bar stools for small asses: uncomfortable. The table seating: cheap picnic benches: uncomfortable. Wanted a draught beer and served a bottle! That says it all, a bar maid who did not care. Food was ok. Came here for dinner on a Thursday around 6pm. We attempted to get seated but we had too large of a party and it would have been a significant wait. The hostess said we could sit in the beer garden area and order from the bar. The process was fairly simple, however we then had to move to a table closer to the bar because the bartender said you couldn't eat food at the tables we were at. Suggestion to place signs at the tables you can and cannot eat food at. I ordered the GOTL pale ale, angus sliders for the kids, fish tacos for myself. Our sides were the fries and green beans. The pale ale was nice and light. My fish tacos were good but they were very heavy on the sauce. If I were to order again I would definitely ask for the sauce on the side. I wish I could give the brewery 3.5 stars. The food and drinks were good but the process of moving around was a pain. With that said, I would come back though. First time to the area and picked GOTL for dinner. We were a little apprehensive at fist since it was a brewery, because we only drink domestic beer. We were beyond thrilled to find out they had bud light, and plenty of menu items. Everything was delicious! We were pleasantly surprised, and will go back, For appetizers we had the fried banana peppers. They had a light batter & came with ranch. Amazing!!! The pretzel was cooked perfect & the beer cheese dip, also good. The other items we had were pesto chicken pasta, pineapple chicken which had the best risotto I've ever had. My mom, sister and I were here the second night of a girls' trip to the area. We'd gone to some wineries beforehand but chose this place for dinner. We got there early and it wasn't busy, and the weather was great so we sat outside. There was an outside bar but we sat at a picnic table on the patio with a nice view of Lake Erie. We all did The Black Rock Grill experience and we each had a drink with dinner. The Good: Most of the food was good...not great, but good. We ordered two steaks and the lamb lollipops with various sides. The way it was served on the individual plates was really great - I think other places may have one central stone for the table, but we each had our own with was neat. We also got three dipping sauces which were really good. Our table had an umbrella and we were able to move it to block the sun in our eyes as needed. The view was lovely and the staff was friendly. They had my favorite beer on draft - Fathead's Bumbleberry, which made me happy The Bad: I had brussel sprouts as a side and they were really not good. They weren't cooked through, but they were also burnt which made them even harder to eat. I didn't finish them and I like brussel sprouts . My steak tasted like it didn't have any salt on it at all. I added some at the table, but it came pre-seasoned with other stuff. Also, most of the pre-seasoning stuck to the stone so I didn't get to enjoy that either. My fries were fine. I saw our waitress three times total, and I wasn't at the table when we ordered drinks. It wasn't so busy that she couldn't have checked on us a bit more. Our beers were served in plastic cups...not a huge deal but it seemed like less than you'd get in a regular beer glass, but for the same price. Also, there were a few Yellowjackets hanging around that were bothersome but not really a problem. Verdict: Go at your own risk. If I was in the mood for steak I'd look elsewhere next time. However, if I wanted bar food or a burger/sandwich I'd probably go there to try that, especially if I got that view again. read more

I wanted to find something I liked about the place. I really did. But... Seating was uncomfortable. Picnic tables outside, and hard wood chairs inside. For people such as myself who have back issues from time to time, both are uncomfortable. Beverages served in plastic cups? When you're paying $18 and up for entrees (up to $40 for steaks) plastic cups just don't do it. Especially when most other places use actual glasses. Raspberry iced tea was weak too. Almost like drinking slightly flavored water. Oh, and there was a dead fly at the bottom of my cup of water. A dead fly. Not really surprising, though, since there were flies buzzing around during the whole meal (we ate inside). They checked on my drink ONE TIME during the whole dinner. Unacceptable. Menu was limited. Prices seemed a bit high for what you got. Most other places offer better value. No salad with dinner. No rolls. No bread and butter. The pineapple chicken looked like some sort of mush that I'd feed my dog. The dish's flavor wasn't bad, but wasn't good either. I wouldn't order it again, especially for $18. Service was extremely slow. I realize that there's a waitstaff shortage, but the thing is they didn't have but a handful of other customers. Not tables - customers. Nobody seemed to be in any sort of rush, either. I'm sorry - but a business posting a sign on their door telling customers to fill out a job application if they're not happy with the service doesn't absolve the restaurant of providing proper service. I have to admit that I wasn't expecting much when we first got here - dark bar, wire patio furniture, kind of divey. However, we ended up having a great time with an excellent meal. We stopped in after our wine tour for my sister's bachelorette party because it's one of the few places in downtown GOTL that sits more-or-less on the water. Owner/Manager came by at one point and asked how everything was and provided the bride and MOH with a free shot which I thought was very nice. I would say their claim to fame is the food presentation- rare meat or seafood is served on a super hot stone so that you can continue cooking it to your desired doneness. Wasn't sure what to think after reading recent reviews but the four of us came for dinner on Sunday night. Wine tour on Monday so we thought we would try brewery out. Limited menu was first thing we heard due to staffing challenges. RayAnn sat us and took our drink order and was super pleasant and even made some great recommendations. Brother in law and I opted for Kobe filet, with the wives ordering tuna and salmon. Wish I had more pictures to share but the food was so good it was gone before I could take any more. Since I like to grill at home I found it interactive to finish the proteins while warming the sides throughout the meal. I ordered the carnitas tacos and chips. They were great! I really liked the sauce on top. Then we also ordered the jumbo pretzel. That was also delicious along with the cheese sauce.
