The 528 Tavern - Hot garlic parm

The 521 tavern is basically a neighborhood bar, everyone here seems to know everyone else (except…read moreme). I was made to feel welcome both days that I've eaten here. The music is my style (old rock) some may consider it a bit loud, but that's just people having fun. I ordered the filet today, it was heavenly. I have had easily a couple hundred fillets, this one was probably in the top eight. It was super tender, perfectly cooked, and the sauce was the perfect touch. Needless to say the 528 tavern is a great place to have a great meal and a beer.

This pub is the perfect slice of blue-collar Americana. It's very casual, low-key, and cozy. There…read morewere a large number of tables with parties of 10 or more. The service was top-notch despite that! The bar tender fella on the patio was especially nice and super attentive despite being totally slammed on a Thursday night! We got the fried mushrooms appetizer with homemade ranch. It was excellent! Very crisp and tasty! The salad was good. The pizza with onion and basil was nicely made. Thin and crispy. And the Cowboy dinner with a 20 oz bone-in ribeye was perfect! It came with a baked potato and side salad. It made a few patrons at the outdoor bar jealous! We sat outside on the patio before sunset. Everyone seemed to be having a good time there. I highly recommend visiting this pub if you're looking for a casual atmosphere. The food was great, and the drinks were affordable.

I gotta say this was a nice find. We were out and about. Wanted some dinner. Started looking around…read morefor a close place. And found this place. We got there around 5:00p on a Saturday. People already eating and drinking. Deceivingly large. Walk in and bar is to your right. To the left are tables and such. We went to the bar. The bar had a good amount of people. We ended up close to the windows on the other side. It was fine. Bartender came right over. They have a good selection of alcohol. Flavored vodka's. I got salted Carmel with coke. Delish! Kathy got cucumber vodka and sprite. Very refreshing. We got menus and asked bartender to recommend some items. He said wings good, burgers good, chicken and waffles and Mac and cheese. Funny we didn't get any of those. Kathy got the brisket dinner. I got the rueben with a salad. Both good. And prices were good too. They came out in about 10 mins. Salad was good. The Rueben was hot . I ate half. Good amount of corned beef not too skimpy. Kathy's. Brisket looked amazing. And it was good. Brisket tender with side of baked potato and broccoli. BBQ sauce on the side. And a loaf of bread. All for $12.99. She ate half and took home too. It was good and filling. Bartender was nice and informative. Place had a good mix of people. Looks like a nice hang out. Prices were good. Drinks good. Can't complain. I'd definitely go back and try something else.

Super rude woman bartender. I am originally from Ashtabula and live in Cleveland now . I drive more…read morethan an hour to meet my friends at this bar because the wings are good and it's a cheap place to get beer with a decent quiet atmosphere. However, the last three times I have made it to this establishment, the bartender complains how many years she's been there and how miserable she is. She is not friendly. I tolerate her because I'm happy to be with my friends and the food is decent. Last night. After driving over an hour to get there. We arrived at 7 PM. We sat down at a booth and the woman bartender stared at me for almost 5 minutes. Never came over to ask what we wanted. Just glaring at us, and I didn't understand. Maybe she didn't want to serve us? Maybe it's a rule that you have to get up and ask for your drinks and menu at the bar? But when you're in a booth. I would imagine it's customary for the bartender to come over and ask what you want. Especially since there were only maybe five customers at the bar. It was a little embarrassing because I brought my brother for his first time. After waiting her out and figuring she wasn't going to come over, I got up and ordered our drinks and asked for a menu. She said the drive-through was closed. I didn't know what that meant. Apparently the "kitchen" was is closed. At 7 PM on a Saturday night. Wing night? $$$$ Oh well. We went to another bar and were treated very well. Our waitress was wonderful and I gave her a great tip. Too bad for a rude girl! We will not go back now. After all these years. I can't take it anymore.

I wrote a review eight years ago and wanted to update. The guy I was dating (now I'm happily…read moresingle) is gone and this is a place I've ventured to many days on my own. I sit at the bar and enjoy a Wine Burger. Just... this is the BEST burger. They DO have wonderful food, and great specials- (of note the Pasta Sunday!) But then if I DON'T get the Wine Burger... I ask myself why didn't I just get the Wine Burger?! lol. To save my poor frazzled mind, that Burger- which is heaven on a plate -is a must. So now I order it and you can change the sides, add a salad- etc. But just get this scrumptious lil slice of Burger Heaven. The service is just fine, but it is slower-so you'll see me scrolling at the bar, yet the food is so worth it. The wine is sweet- as in sticky sweet so if you like the better wineries- Old Mill is those sweet comfort wines. I know what they have and when it's warmer I get a Grindstone Pink, but I like their Chardonnay. For this high palate wine drinker, it's mellow, soft and refreshing. Sure, it's not a high end fancy chard, but it's theirs and I love it. The atmosphere is rustic, cute, funky and casual. I love sitting outside too in the spring/summer. This is my spot. I'll bring friends visiting the area here (to get my Wine Burger- lol). What usually happens is that everyone orders something else and then my Wine Burger arrives. "Oh wow, that looks awesome." "I should've ordered that- maaaan that looks good!" "Hey you don't want to trade do you?" "Oooh! Can I try a little bite?!" No. Get your own. I warned you and I will fight you on this. lol! So go here and always get the wine burger and you'll leave with a tummy full of joy and a smile. This little place may not be a fancy, high end dining experience- but to me it's laid back, delicious- pure joy. It doesn't need fancy trappings or even expensive prices. It's home. Get a Wine Burger. Amen.

Great food. One of our go to places when we dine out. Love the burgers and the old mill dip!read more
