My date and I went to Martha's Exchange before a show at the Nashua Center for the Arts. The atmosphere was very nice - a mix of woody pub and industrial chic. Our server, Brittany, was wonderful, very friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and efficient. The food was delicious. We split a Calamari appetizer which was cooked to the right temperature and not greasy. It was served with a tasty sweet chili sauce. My date had the Spanakopita. She shared and it was some of the best I've tried. I had Butternut Ravioli and it was also very tasty. Both dishes were nicely presented. We split a decadent chocolate cake for desert. read more

The host was aware of our presence and took over twenty minutes to offer a table, the tables were sticky and gross. The food was made so incompetent is unbelievable. Had jambalaya and the cook who made it need to read the recipe. Put chicken on top of the dish was burned and had a taste of gas or charcoal. We also had fish that was dry and not very tasty. The service was also a disaster, the people that serve us had no clue what service is, never asked if we need anything, if everything was alright, etc. the ambiance is dark and depressing. I returned to Martha's exchange after years and I'm happy to say I had a great experience . The interior is upscale pub with cozy quaint vibes . I got an appetizer of three dips and pita chips . One dip was a hummus , another was a feta spread and then tzatziki . I am not a huge fan of any of those things but WOW it was mouthwatering . Pita bread chips were so tasty and had the perfect amount of crispness and softness . They had quite a few Greek dishes on their menu which is perfect for a vegetarian like myself . From ordering to getting our food it was about a 40 minute wait which in my opinion was not bad considering it was rush hour and a busy time of week. The service was great.- our waiter was extreamly attentive and personable I just forget his name unfortunately. Group of 3 - We were there for 1 hour and 50 minutes. It took a half hour to put our food in, 45 min to get our Brussels sprouts appetizer, and then another 15 to get our dinner (which was 3 sandwiches). The food was mediocre, which would have been fine if the service was better. There was never even an apology for the food and service for taking so long. We then waited 20 min to try to get our check but our server never came back. One of the bartenders was getting ready to leave, saw us waiting, and helped cash us out. Our waitress never came back. The bartender who had just clocked off saw us waiting, brought our check, took our card, paid the bill, and brought us back the bill. So we begin with outdoor seating and on a Saturday night it was busy! Inside the atmosphere was a little more quiet but well blended the "past" and "present" of the business. I guess many years ago this used to be primarily an Ice Cream and Candy Shop. They still have a few of the old relics (cash register, weight machine etc) and you can still get a limited supply of Chocolates and candy! Now to the restaurant/meal: service waiter was very nice and came NUMEROUS times to make sure we had everything. It shocks me because usually you have to beg, this almost seemed like too much compared to what I'm used to but it shows care and quality. A decent supply of selection from burgers and fish to pub favorites like Chicken Fingers or Quasadias. I actually decided on the prime rib. The au jus and cheese on top was delicious but the meat was a bit rough and too grizzly for my liking so that's why it avoids 5 stars. Price was average to...not bad! Most plates are around $20. Which is great for this type of restaurant (Not worth/not looking for a 40-$50 plate!!) so overall a good experience. Also looks like they had a quality selection of beers/wines to choose from but I'm usually not a big drinker. The only other criticite: the booths are a bit older and tight. One of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had! My mom and I came here before an event at the performing arts center and it was 11/10. The food and cocktails were delicious, the coconut watermelon mojito is my favorite and I would return just for that! The highlight was definitely our server Brandon, he was so sweet and went above and beyond for us. He was so considerate to hold our boxes for us until after the show- unfortunately it got out after y'all closed so we weren't able to fulfill our end of the commitment! Came here for dinner with some friends and it was just okay. I got the spanikopita and it had no flavor at all. It was also served to me cold. The other friends I was with got more normal American options, like burgers, and they all liked their meals. The ambiance and service were also both just okay. Pretty loud inside and our server wasn't very attentive. Honestly, I was pretty disappointed with my experience. We had a group of 10 people for dinner before a show at the Nashua Performing Arts Center. We had made reservations early, like 3 weeks before the show so that they would know we had a big group. Our reservations were at 5 and the show was at 7. We told our server right away that we were going to the show at 7. It was busy there and they looked understaffed so I tried to keep that in mind. To start with drinks, 2 of our drink orders were wrong and 2 in our group didn't even get drinks. I got an old fashioned that was watered down with regular ice and was not good. I also noticed that I never saw a bartender behind the bar which was weird. For apps, we got calamari, loaded nachos, and wings. The calamari and wings were good but the nachos barely had any chicken on them. For dinner, they were so slow that one person in our group didn't even get his food and two people in our group had to get it to go and couldn't eat because it took so long. I got a smash burger which I ordered med rare and it came out overcooked. It was still fine though, I wasn't going to send it back. It was also very difficult finding an employee to get our check too. We were late to the show and I would recommend going somewhere else if you're going to a show at the performing arts center. The server was very apologetic though and comped our apps which was nice, but I won't be back unless it's just for beers before a show. read more

It's been a long time since we been to Martha's, so we thought we'd give it another shot. If possible...it got worse. We sat outside, there were quite a few tables to choose from, but we were sat at one with the most bird poop on it. I get it, we're outside, but there's no way the host didn't see that while they were seating us. Our waitress had to come back after taking our drink order to clean it. I ordered an IPA, my husband ordered the red. We were asked "short or tall" we both said tall - to which she replied "let me make sure we can do those as talls." You asked us! Shouldn't you know if we can get it in a tall? The menu is not very impressive, so we decided to just split nachos and then go somewhere else. Can't go wrong with nachos, right?! WRONG. The menu said chicken or beef...we said beef "let me make sure we're still doing the beef." Spoiler: they are not. Atrocious!!! We were sat and waited 20 minutes for someone to come over. When he did, he asked us if we had been helped yet. We said no and he was surprised and apologized. However, he also said we weren't his "monkeys," but would help us. So, we ordered drinks and one was wrong. Then we ordered our food and all hell broke loose. Almost 40 minutes later and no one came by, no food came out, nothing. So we asked the hostess and she said she'd check. Well, she never came back and we saw her back at the host stand. That was the straw that broke the camel's back. We decided to walk out. First, we ask the hostess if we should pay for our drinks and she said she had no idea and didn't know what was going on. Anyway, as we walked out, our waiter ran out to tell us all of our food was ready. We weren't having it at that point. Use to love this place, but not anymore. Dated bar and interior..ordered an old fashion and they had no bitters. Ok go to the old favorite jambalaya..the chicken wasover spiced and over cooked..the rice, shrimp, and sausage pretty good. A nice selection of fall beers but $13.50 for a draft...well it was happy hour so you got your second for a penny. But when I left the bartender charged me full price for both ...then when I pointed it out, he charge me for only one ..without voiding the first charge. This used to be the go to place for my wife and I when we were unable to get a reservation at other local restaurants. The food and service was always great. Lately it seems something has changed. The last two times we have been in the service and food has been average at best. The drinks were incorrectly made and when we requested a new one the same drink was received or it was remade the exact same way. We ordered prime rib and the au jus was cold, the green beans were mushy. A member of the staff was putting his hands directly into the ice well and then placing the ice in customers glasses. Came in on Presidents Day and it was pretty empty. My wife and I sat at the bar and were ready to order a late lunch and drinks when we were approached by what appeared to be an adult busboy. He told us we'd have to move to other end of bar around the corner because this curved section was reserved for "regulars" and he pulled out a wooden "reserved" sign out from behind the counter and put it in front of us. He said "they're kind of particular about these seats".... even though there were plenty of empty seats all along the bar. Why we didn't leave then is beyond me. We parked kind of far away because the streets were snow covered so we kind of absent mindedly did as we were told. We ordered happy hour drinks and sandwiches which were fine. Unfortunately sitting near us was an older guy who had his shoes off with his smelly sock covered feet up on the stool next to him with legs stretched out which was gross while he talked with others down the bar on other side. Then a young cook or dishwasher came out and had a louder than necessary conversation with this guy. The two men were flirting with each other and it was then that it struck me that this all shouldn't be happening. Food's pretty good - we both got Spanakopita, and it was great. We like to sit outside but you must be ready for all of the loud motorcycles. Oktoberfest just came out and it was great, and I got the Shandy (1/2 beer, 1/2 lemonade). Of course no prices on the drinks. I do NOT understand why the Shandy Was $12 while the Oktoberfest (full beer) was $8.95. Ridiculous! I asked my waiter to ask the manager, and he said it's because they make their own lemonade. If they do, they need to improve it because it didn't taste all that good to me (to warrant an extra $3?!?). What do you charge for lemonade - $18 a glass?!? Feeling ripped off. I used to live in this area years ago and was pleasantly surprised that it was still open and thriving. We fit a seat right by the window, which we really liked getting that city feel. The table was a little sticky but overall the place seemed clean, including the bathrooms. I ordered the steak and cheese with a side Greek salad. The sandwich was meh, meat barely seasoned, but the salad was delicious! I've never had just a whole slice if fresh feta on a salad before. It was delightful. My friend orders nachos and she was disappointed with the cheese level. First layer had cheese, the rest was just a pile of chips. Our waitress was very friendly, but the service was slow. She even said we were her most patient table. We weren't in a rush, so it was ok. We headed to a show at the Nashua Center for the Arts and this was just a few steps away from the venue. I really like going to Martha's for a casual time at the bar enjoying a nice beverage and something to snack on. The service is always great - slackers are weeded out pretty quickly - leaving a solid crew to get the job done. Best thing about the food is consistently high quality from the kitchen with better than average ingredients. Tastes like lots of home cooking and signature recipes that do set them apart! One of the most enjoyable experience I've had with my four teammates. After going to a paint splatter room experience a block away we just wanted a rest with something sweet. Our server, Stevie, was hands down one of the best. We all ordered desserts and non alcoholic drinks which is usually a servers worst nightmare but she was DELIGHTFUL. Allowed us to stay and enjoy our time together and never rushed us out. Now...the DESSERTS. We had dinner at Martha's last night. Some of the dishes were good and others terrible. I ordered the strip steak med rare and it came out well done. Sent it back and it was replaced w a top round , not sure why. Very tough and the chef had to cut it in half to see if it was cooked properly. The mashed potatoes and green beans were delicious. The chicken piccata had very little sauce and the butternut raviolis were terrible. The burgers were very good. read more

Very disappointed. I ordered the Special of the day prime rib on focaccia bread sandwich. The waitress returned to tell me that it was too earlier to cut the prime rib. So I ordered an appetizer of "hand breaded chicken tenders" What came was a wire cone with 4 frozen skinny over fried chicken strips covered with floppy French fries that tasted like mashed potatoes. The restaurant itself was nicely appointed in a great pub motif. My husband enjoyed the scotch stout and hamburger he ordered. We were visiting our son who lives in Nashua. We have been to Martha's before and are please with their food an service. I ordered the ultimate Mack and cheese and it came to the table incorrect. However the waitress Caitlin took care of the issue as well as the restaurant manager apologized and offered additional food while I waited and even dessert. I was pleased with their response time and items offered but waited patiently for my food. When it arrived it was Perfectly made and the Best loaded Mac n Cheese I've had in a long time. Chicken an Bacon loaded into the Mac n Cheese. So tasty. I recommend Martha's Restaurant. Try their steak Quesadilla also. That was great too. And their own beers are very good as well. Our group of 3 women of color went for drinks at Martha's Exchange after seeing the Nutcracker at the Nashua Performing Arts Center on Dec 1, 2023. We sat at the bar and ordered our drinks. We asked for the apple pie sangria and received a half-assed drink. There was no fruit or cinnamon sugar rim as described on the menu - just what tasted to be vodka and pineapple juice. Did other people's apple pie sangria look and taste better than ours? When we asked the bartender about it, he said (I kid you not) "We're getting ready to close up so I skipped out and I was hoping you wouldn't notice." Yup - at least he's honest(?). Here's the *worst* part: He came to us for a "last call" and we declined. Not but a few minutes later a group of 3 people of color came to sit at the bar and before they could even take off their jackets the male bartender said "Sorry, we just made the last call." A good 10+ minutes passed and another group of people came in, they were all white. The male bartender proceeded to make 3 mixed drinks and serve them with a very big smile. Our hearts sank. It was disgusting to watch. We immediately told the female bartender how racist and discriminatory this incident is. I hope Martha's Exchange takes this seriously; not only watch the video but also interview the bartenders to get a better understanding of why and how could this happen; and provide training for its staff. I ordered Mac & cheese. It was made in and served in a cast iron skillet. All I could taste was metal. It was awful, and I could not eat it. Then, our waiter stood in plain view of my table and others AND PUT DEODORANT ON! When done, he went right back to serving food. A minute later, A WAITRESS DID THE SAME THING using what looked like community deodorant!!!!! THIS WAS ALMOST THE GROSSED THING I'VE EVER SEEN IN A RESTAURANT!!! I visited Martha's exchange twice when I was in Nashua for work last week. The first time my co-worker and I visited to drink beer and eat dinner, and the second time we visited to buy some chocolate from the candy shop they had. My co-worker and I were seated immediately when we visited on a Monday night around 7pm. Everyone who worked there was really friendly and didn't rush us when we needed extra time to decided what we wanted to order. I ordered a Fire Roasted Vegetable Panini for my meal and it came out in no time at all. I was surprised by the portion size...it was HUGE. I was also happy with the amount of veggies in the sandwich! With the onion rings I got on the side, I was STUFFED and couldn't finish my meal. When we visited the second time to buy chocolate, it was nice to see the wide variety they had to choose from. They had many different sizes and flavors. There were some pieces you could buy by weight and others you had to purchase by piece. It was really tasty, but definitely think it was a little overpriced for what it was (some pieces were $4/piece). read more
