This place is awesome and has a classy beach vibe. Located in the heart of Redondo Beach - Riviera Village, and a 5 minute walk to the beach. It's very popular and parking can be a challenge. The Fried Chicken sandwich with side salad was soooo good. I also love the assortment of breakfast items and latte's. The staff were attentive and friendly. Let me preface this review by saying Martha's in Hermosa is one of my all-time favorite breakfast spots and has earned its iconic status. We thought we'd have a slam-dunk great experience at the new Riviera Village location. How wrong we were. In fairness, I get that they are fairly new, and that most of the kids they hired have little to no experience in the service industry. But the only word that comes to mind to describe the service that was (barely) provided is abysmal. We were there on 7-9 around 9:30AM. The guy who was our "waiter" was not only slow, but clueless. Despite being well-intentioned, he had no business being in a customer facing job, and we had to constantly flag down one of the busboys as he would just disappear for long periods of time. Even a routine coffee refill seemed to be a Herculean task for him. We will probably give this Martha's another chance, because the food was ok and the location is delightful. We would hope that management would "circle back" with our "waiter" and provide him with some additional training. Truly, the service here was laughably bad...sorry Martha's but you must do better! read more

Martha's continues to be one of those breakfast spots that earns its reputation. Yes, it's popular, and yes, we waited about 30 minutes for a table. I can't really hold that against them, This was my first visit to the new(ish) RB location. They also make the wait a little easier with a water station and a comfortable area to hang out until your name is called. Once seated, the food absolutely delivered. Our table had the Two Eggs with Meat (crispy bacon is worth the upgrade), the Breakfast Burrito, and the Smoked Salmon Omelet with fresh seasonal fruit. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked exactly as expected. No complaints from anyone at the table. Service was solid from start to finish. A special shoutout to Tony D., who did a great job keeping our table happy and making sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. The only real downside was our table location. We were seated in direct sunlight without an umbrella, and by the end of the meal it was getting pretty warm. A little more shade would have made the experience noticeably better. Overall, great food, good service, and a fun beach-town breakfast vibe. Just be prepared for a wait during busy times, and if you're eating outside, don't be afraid to ask for a shaded table if one's available. I'd happily come back. read more

Love that Martha's is in our backyard now! I think this is a great location for them and I am so excited to try their dinner. I was able to come for breakfast on Thursday morning. We walked in around 9:30am and got an outdoor table right away. New location in Redondo Beach The success in Hermosa Beach got them in RB Rivera Village! It use to be Gabi's which I never tried due to high prices. So glad Martha's took over. I had the 2 eggs, Canadian bacon, hash browns with raisin bread $18.90 coffee $4.50 and it was yummy. Hortencia the bartender is friendly and attentive, she even let me do a couple taste tests on the Bloody Mary mix and a pale ale beer. The big difference with this location is their alcohol license, now I can enjoy a Kettle One Bloody Mary with my breakfast. It's clean, roomy with outdoor patio dog friendly seating and new. I'm a fan of Martha's in general. This location isn't as good as the one in Hermosa for the view but the Redondo Riviera definitely need a decent restaurant and Martha's fits the bill. Very disappointing experience. My husband ordered a turkey croissant sandwich, and I ordered a tuna melt. We waited while multiple tables that arrived after us were served first, including breakfast orders. After waiting far too long with no explanation, we left without ever getting to try the food. Got here 10 mins before they opened and was seated immediately, which was a foreshadowing of what was to come. The service was impeccable (I am ashamed to say I forgot the name of our awesome waitress, but she was middle aged, funny, and super attentive). The food was good, the usual burgers and fries variety with some surprising choices (steak frites?!). Everything was really good, and the long island iced teas definitely HIT! We stopped in to the new Redondo location yesterday. We were greeted and seated quickly. Each of the three of us wanted to try something different on the breakfast menu. My friend had the Eggs Benedict, I tried the breakfast burger and my honey had the regular breakfast (bacon, eggs, hashbrowns). We also shared the cornmeal pancakes. All of the food was fresh and delicious. My friend liked that they actually seared the Canadian bacon on her Benedict. The pancakes were my favorite thing and I'll have a hard time deciding between pancakes and the breakfast burger in the future. We came on a weekday and got the Huevos Playa. I've had it before at the Hermosa location and thought it was good, really liked the poached egg and runny yolk. Very disappointed when I got it again at the RB location and the supposed to be "poached eggs" was practically FULLY COOKED... Also ordered a side of bacon, shown in picture, it was also basically BURNT ?? If you think that I should've sent it back, it shouldn't even have been served in the first place.. We're not ones to give the server a hard time so I didn't bother send it back, just accepted the disappointment. Didn't enjoy the food, it was just red mush and the veggies in it just tasted off. Sad comparison to the Hermosa location. Staff also seemed all over the place. We asked for a box and check, the check came first and the box was forgotten until our check got picked up. Even the bussers were faster than the service... I was looking forward to this location, but I feel that they opened way too soon... need to improve consistency of their food because this is just sad. read more

I don't normally leave reviews, but Martha's absolutely deserves one. Unfortunately, we weren't even able to try the food because my grandpa suddenly collapsed at our table due to a medical emergency. It was one of the scariest moments our family has ever experienced, but the staff's response was incredible. Within seconds, multiple servers rushed over to help. The person I believe was the owner also came over, brought several cold towels, helped flag down the ambulance, and made sure we had everything we needed while we waited for paramedics. Every single employee showed genuine care, compassion, and professionalism. In a moment like that, you really see someone's true character, and the entire team at Martha's went above and beyond. We'll never forget how they treated our family during such a difficult time. We didn't get the chance to eat that day, but because of the kindness and humanity they showed us, we will absolutely be coming back to try the food. Thank you to everyone at Martha's for your compassion and for helping my grandpa when we needed it most. read more

Went for dinner and really pleased with everything! Great environment and vibe. Fantastic service. Everyone so friendly and professional. Lots of nice touches that take this from a breakfast place to a really nice dinner place. Warm wet, towels after the sticky rib appetizer ( night recommend). We had excellent pork chop with Japanese sweet potato and the half chicken with spinach and bacon. Would order both again. Can't wait to go back for breakfast!!! In a word ...YUK! Huevos Playa, a runny mess of undercooked potatoes, watery sauce, flavorless cheese, topped with a gloopy pile of sour cream and awful guac. Miniature eggs in there somewhere. Barely warm by the time it arrived. The cornmeal pancakes tasted like the usual wheat flour mix from a box that someone stirred a teaspoon of cornmeal into. No taste other than industrial dreck. Add a small - barely 2 tablespoons of maple syrup. And of course, the usual coffee service coffee who's name need not be mentioned - starts with "F" for $5.00 Terrible in every way. So little in the village worth eating at for breakfast and this is just a crazy overpriced version of Denny's with cloth napkins. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Love Martha's 22nd st. Hermosa for years. Tried the new Martha's in Redondo for DINNER the other night. The dinner menu features items from an $18 burger, a $32 1/2 chicken and Steak Frites for $40 . The waiter offered the "Special for the Night" .... Branzino. But did not state the price. When questioned, he stated that the Branzino was $60! This is the oldest trick in the book. Offer an off menu special, but don't state the price. What kind of guy on a date is going to ask how much an item is in front of his date ? I wouldn't have minded but the jump from the other items on the menu to $60 was way off the chart. At $60 for a Branzino fish dinner in a restaurant known for their 'Whitecorn Scramble" breakfast .... that must be some fish! For me it crossed a line. I took it personally. For a neighborhood establishment trying to gain a foothold to unofficially try to rip people off is unfortunate. Sad. read more
