Very busy place, every day...so, I thought I would try it for lunch. I ordered the Tuna Salad & a Cup-o-coffee. Warning, if you get up to go to the restroom....be sure to tell your server, because, when I returned my beverage was removed (even though a left a glass case to "mark my spot" as 'active'.). my Lunch? a bit bland. I guess i'm spoiled, I would expect flavor and crunch. my Tuna salad (thought): chopped celery, minced red onion, a bit of Dijon mustard and hint of lemon juice. We came on a weekday and got the Huevos Playa. I've had it before at the Hermosa location and thought it was good, really liked the poached egg and runny yolk. Very disappointed when I got it again at the RB location and the supposed to be "poached eggs" was practically FULLY COOKED... Also ordered a side of bacon, shown in picture, it was also basically BURNT ?? If you think that I should've sent it back, it shouldn't even have been served in the first place.. We're not ones to give the server a hard time so I didn't bother send it back, just accepted the disappointment. Didn't enjoy the food, it was just red mush and the veggies in it just tasted off. Sad comparison to the Hermosa location. Staff also seemed all over the place. We asked for a box and check, the check came first and the box was forgotten until our check got picked up. Even the bussers were faster than the service... I was looking forward to this location, but I feel that they opened way too soon... need to improve consistency of their food because this is just sad. read more

Arrived 10am on a Sunday. Waited 15 min until table for two became free at the bar. Staff did not clean table but just put down our water without checking it. They did not bring setup (flatware/napkin), we had to take from the next table. We ordered; one latte was brought quickly, food arrived 30 minutes later. They did not bring the drip coffee we had ordered, we had to ask. No cream was brought or offered. Waitstaff did not check on us during meal and we had to ask for check. Coffee drinks were nothing special, but food was excellent as always. Poor service ruined the experience. TL;DR: Martha's Redondo can't cope with the volume of customers success has brought, and food quality doesn't compensate for really poor service. read more

As a long-time customer of the Hermosa Beach location, I was thrilled to visit the new Redondo Beach restaurant for lunch today. My friend and I enjoyed a wonderful meal on the outside deck; both the Tex Mex salad and the Kale Romaine Caesar salad with Rosemary chicken were delicious, and the iced Americano coffees were as good as any at coffee shops in & around the area. Got here 10 mins before they opened and was seated immediately, which was a foreshadowing of what was to come. The service was impeccable (I am ashamed to say I forgot the name of our awesome waitress, but she was middle aged, funny, and super attentive). The food was good, the usual burgers and fries variety with some surprising choices (steak frites?!). Everything was really good, and the long island iced teas definitely HIT! We stopped in to the new Redondo location yesterday. We were greeted and seated quickly. Each of the three of us wanted to try something different on the breakfast menu. My friend had the Eggs Benedict, I tried the breakfast burger and my honey had the regular breakfast (bacon, eggs, hashbrowns). We also shared the cornmeal pancakes. All of the food was fresh and delicious. My friend liked that they actually seared the Canadian bacon on her Benedict. The pancakes were my favorite thing and I'll have a hard time deciding between pancakes and the breakfast burger in the future. This is my second time for brunch at this location. The service is friendly and quick but the food was overcooked for all 5 of us. Over easy eggs, hard, omelets both dry, pancakes and French toast scorched and served with no butter. I'm going to wait for a few months before returning for breakfast. read more

I know Martha's has a great reputation. I know there is a large menu to choose from so I still have items to try (and I will). Usually the service is great and the area is comfortable for a solo diner. This morning was not spectacular as I I sat for quite a while at 8:40 am before being addressed. The server was apologetic and I can let that go. I have had four different breakfast items. The chorizo scramble, the breakfast burrito were really good. The two omelets I've had sausage, white cheddar and Spanish omelet where pretty flavorless unless the great hot sauces were requested. Also the Chorizo/Sweet potato skillet was difficult to eat as the ratio of chorizo to sweet potato was 10 to one. The Spanish omelet was particularly flavorless and had no Spanish at all. The hash browns were greasy and the squaw bread had little to no toasting. Maybe this was just an off morning and I do plan on returning. I'm not looking to slam the place, just offer some suggestions to help it keep getting better. One last item; I did have dinner there and the dinner rocked. read more

Went for dinner and really pleased with everything! Great environment and vibe. Fantastic service. Everyone so friendly and professional. Lots of nice touches that take this from a breakfast place to a really nice dinner place. Warm wet, towels after the sticky rib appetizer ( night recommend). We had excellent pork chop with Japanese sweet potato and the half chicken with spinach and bacon. Would order both again. Can't wait to go back for breakfast!!! I don't normally leave reviews, but Martha's absolutely deserves one. Unfortunately, we weren't even able to try the food because my grandpa suddenly collapsed at our table due to a medical emergency. It was one of the scariest moments our family has ever experienced, but the staff's response was incredible. Within seconds, multiple servers rushed over to help. The person I believe was the owner also came over, brought several cold towels, helped flag down the ambulance, and made sure we had everything we needed while we waited for paramedics. Every single employee showed genuine care, compassion, and professionalism. In a moment like that, you really see someone's true character, and the entire team at Martha's went above and beyond. We'll never forget how they treated our family during such a difficult time. We didn't get the chance to eat that day, but because of the kindness and humanity they showed us, we will absolutely be coming back to try the food. Thank you to everyone at Martha's for your compassion and for helping my grandpa when we needed it most. read more

We went to the new location of Martha's and for the second time this month we loved it. Great ingredients, consistent service, and yummy food. Today we got really lucky and found parking directly in front of the restaurant. But, there's always the big lot in the middle of the village with meter parking. In a word ...YUK! Huevos Playa, a runny mess of undercooked potatoes, watery sauce, flavorless cheese, topped with a gloopy pile of sour cream and awful guac. Miniature eggs in there somewhere. Barely warm by the time it arrived. The cornmeal pancakes tasted like the usual wheat flour mix from a box that someone stirred a teaspoon of cornmeal into. No taste other than industrial dreck. Add a small - barely 2 tablespoons of maple syrup. And of course, the usual coffee service coffee who's name need not be mentioned - starts with "F" for $5.00 Terrible in every way. So little in the village worth eating at for breakfast and this is just a crazy overpriced version of Denny's with cloth napkins. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Love Martha's 22nd st. Hermosa for years. Tried the new Martha's in Redondo for DINNER the other night. The dinner menu features items from an $18 burger, a $32 1/2 chicken and Steak Frites for $40 . The waiter offered the "Special for the Night" .... Branzino. But did not state the price. When questioned, he stated that the Branzino was $60! This is the oldest trick in the book. Offer an off menu special, but don't state the price. What kind of guy on a date is going to ask how much an item is in front of his date ? I wouldn't have minded but the jump from the other items on the menu to $60 was way off the chart. At $60 for a Branzino fish dinner in a restaurant known for their 'Whitecorn Scramble" breakfast .... that must be some fish! For me it crossed a line. I took it personally. For a neighborhood establishment trying to gain a foothold to unofficially try to rip people off is unfortunate. Sad. read more

Martha's Redondo site exceeds those expectations. Karey makes you feel like your the only person at the restaurant. She is knowledgeable, not only about the cuisine, but the local scene. Her recommendations were spot-on. The entire staff was warm and attentive. When you add in a delicious meal, you have achieved the desired outcome. First time there, and never again. Ordered a "specialty", spanish chorizo and sweet potato hash. Never seen spanish chorizo cut into 1/2 inch cubes, and the whole "hash" was the chorizo, with maybe 4 cubes of sweet potatoe. Very disappointing after a very long wait for our food. Felt like they were out of ingredients and just threw together what they had. I would much prefer to be told I needed to order something different. I noticed the couple next to us left much of their food untouched, and another table sent theirs back. Terrible food for me. My wifes meal was ok. We had not been in the area in years and were looking forward to a nice lunch in a nice setting. Obviously chose wrong! read more

I have gone to breakfast numerous times in the past couple of months. The regular Eggs Benedict and the Florentine Benedict are quite delicious. The stuffed French Toast is also excellent. The White Corn Scramble is different but good too. I like how they use so many different cheeses in their foods, as it gives regular dishes a new flavor. The avocado toast was okay but I expect more avocado when I have that. The regular two egg breakfast is very good and you have a choice of several breads for your toast. We went to Martha's for lunch two or three times too. I highly recommend the Monte Cristo sandwich! It is definitely worth ordering. My husband and I can easily share this meal with the curly fries that come with it. We ask for blackberry or raspberry jam as they taste the most like the traditional lingonberry we've had in the past. The tuna melt is also a big hit with us and they will make it on any bread you request. There's no skimping on their wonderful tuna salad. read more
