My boyfriend and I bought an $80 tommy hilfigure comforter here last night, only to come home and find the actual comforter was a different name brand than what was on the package (tommy bahama) and was covered in stains and what looked like burn marks! We went back to the store the next day to exchange the damaged item and the manager ( middle eastern older lady with light brown hair) told us that she couldn't give us our money back and it was the store policy to check the cameras first to make sure we were the ones who bought the comforter! If she verified that we in fact were the ones on the camera, she would call us within 5 days and we can come back and return it.. What on earth?!? I've never heard of a return policy like that before especially when we had the receipt and it was less than 24 hours later. I can't help but agree with the other reviews as to this particular manager being very rude and possibly racist. She made us feel like criminals, it was very embarrassing. We went to the studio city location and explained our situation and they apologized profusely for her behavior assuring us that was absolutely not their company policy, gave us the corporate number, encouraged us to speak with upper management and gladly helped us process our return. We will absolutely be reporting her to the corporate office as this seems to be a common occurrence base on other reviews and is completely unacceptable way to treat paying customers. This location has the worst customer service. After being discriminated we definitely won't be shopping here anymore. My mother was being followed throughout the store as if she had done something wrong. That was very unnecessary as she has never shoplifted in her life and definitely didn't give any reasons for them to be suspicious when all she wanted was to buy a few shirts. Marshalls has so many things in the store besides clothing items. They have different electronics, decorations, housewares and one of my favorites, cooking supplies. I love to go through their selection of different plates that I actually use in the photos of my dishes that I post online. Sometimes a person can find some decent cookware too. It is important to look for any blemishes that may hinder ones cooking abilities. Most of the pans they sell are in good shape on the inside of the cooking surfaces. I love the prices, quality and selection. read more

This is maybe the best location in terms of selection in this area of the valley. They have the best little designer area, and their shoe selection is pretty decent. Great store! i was at Marshalls in topanga yesterday and I was returning some vases I had purchased for my shower that I never ended up using and as i was in line i droped the vases and they broke into small little pieces. The manager and another associate named "Suman" helped me with the broken items and still continued to give me a full refund on the purchase. I had two items I wanted to purchase and the line wrapped all the way around the store. I decided to wait and thought maybe it wouldn't take a long time. I was in line for 20 minutes and moved about an inch before I decided to leave. This is an ongoing problem at Homegoods and Marshall's stores. I imagine they lose a lot of customers due this. If they slightly rearranged the store and had customers line up behind each register instead of just having one big line, it would be a much smoother process and they wouldn't lose customers. read more

my brother loves this place.. he was home for spring break & of course.. ritual.. sis i need clothes.. marshalls? lol its in the same plaza as vallarta & the new cvs.. so parking gets kinda full.. its a pretty big store.. they have everything shoes clothes accessories home furnishings etc.. prices are pretty good.. sometimes you get lucky and find a great deal.. my brother always manages to find exactly what he is looking for.. (then again ive always said its easier for men to shop then women) he stocks up on t-shirts & shorts & jeans (hes a fan of hurley billabong etc) and he's good to go.. i usually just browse & if something jumps out at me awesome.. this particular trip i was looking around in the shoes dept and theyve got a pretty good selection of heels & flats.. i even found minnetonka kilty suede moccasins for $30.. what struck me as odd is they looked different from the ones i originally purchased from nordy's.. maybe it was cuz i got mine a year or two ago.. but the quality was much different.. not as sturdy? cuz the bottoms of mine are a thick rubber.. and have survived with me thus far.. i wear mine fairly often.. but the pair at marshalls looked like it was made of a much thinner rubber sole.. hmm.. makes me wonder if some manufacturers really do make some merchandise to be sold at discount stores only.. read more

NARINE H. gave me horrible customer service at this Marshalls Home Goods! I went to this store to assist my mother return a piece of furniture she bought from a different Marshalls. Narine H. was very disrespectful, unprofessional, low class, and rude! She refused to take the item back and said every item that gets returned needs to be returned to the store it was purchased from which for me this was one and half hours away. My mom got her wallet stolen from her while she was shopping and she went to ask for help from the employees. She was told they were too busy for them to help her. To leave her phone number and they'd get back to her. What kind of customer service is this?!? You guys have a lame security guard at the front, for what??? Oh, to protect your merch but not the people who shop there. I'm disgusted in how this situation was handled. I am so disappointed in the service I received from NUZHAI today! I came in to exchange a pair of sandals that I changed my mind about (price tag wasn't attached) but I still had the receipt. Nuzhai the coordinator of the store (I think she's from India because of the way she was dressed) was extremely RUDE to me and HUMILIATED me in front of the entire store. She yelled at me and told me that the sandals I had purchased were used and wasn't able to exchange them. I explained to her that I had bought them last night and the sandals were part of the display. The sandals were used from prior customers that try on and walk around the store in the sandals. She again stated "do you think I am going to be able to sell these shoes on the floor" I said "yes, because I bought them like that". Then she says "if they were displays why didn't you ask for a discount??" And I told her that I loved the sandals and didn't care if they were used or not. I had just changed my mind and accidentally threw away the price tag." Again, she yelled at me and called me a LIAR in front of all of the customers. I have never been treated in such a cruel way and I was very humiliated that I no longer will return to this store or any other Marshalls. Nuzhai Set a terrible example for the employees by yelling and disrespecting customers. I always love the bargains and great finds at Marshall's / Home Goods. I've shopped there for many years. Lately however, when I enter the store, there are no shopping carts to be found anywhere. I report it to the staff but apparently it falls on deaf ears. Nothing is ever done about it. The cashier told me that the manager has been made aware if it, yet nothing is ever done. Either they need a better system to collect carts from the parking lot or better yet, they need to invest in more carts. It's rather frustrating as it's been happening every single time I shop there! Prices were great. I purchased a really fancy soap and shampoo that was really good quality and for a much lower price than anywhere else. A week ago I bought a straightening iron coz it was cheap 24.99 and i needed one. Unfortunately, I opened the box a week later to find out that the product doesn't match the picture...it's a different brand too and who knows what's inside is the cheaper or more expensive kind?!?! So I went back to either exchange it with the correct product (THAT I WANT) or return it. The cashier asked if something was wrong with it so me trying to be honest told the story and what happened after? They called and called and called for the manager and eventually got back to me only to tell me that I should come back tomorrow because the manager wasn't there and the cashier added that she thinks the box was opened because it was taped when it was sold and that's not how they package their merchandise. Well hello of course I opened it because I was going to use it but it just happened that it was replaced and I didnt find out until now?!?!!! Why would I get penalized for something I didn't do and here I am trying to be honest and it seemed like she was accusing me of replacing the merchandise and asking for a refund?! Why would the cashier ask me to come back the following day to speak with the manager and possibly get the same response (that I can't return it because that's not how they package their merchandise and because they think I switched it?!) To make the story short, the cashier called the manager from another dept and the manager let her give me the full refund. After really pissing me off. This is the last time I'm going to this place. straight guy reviewing a department store, Por-que, senior Steve? Because I got 20 dollaz in my pocket....actually a c-note, but I need a bunch of work shirts, some casual, some casualler. I found 5 collared, airy summer shirts for around 80 bucks total. Decent quality for 15 buck collared shirts, really liked their variety and look. They have a good selection of shit I needed for the summertime. Its filthy, yes, lines long, yes (they move efficiently though) people look like they have been living in a dumpster yes. Can learn any middle eastern language from the Jews, Armos, and Persians/Arabs barking off at max volume on their I-phone 5's (cause you know, 4's are soooo last year), yes. So, pick a language, grab some dealz men, and save a bundle. Get another 10 to 15% off buying gift cards for these type of stores by prepaying for them on sites like giftcards or abcgiftcards, giftcardgranny. Soon they will be paying you to buy their clothes son.... Shoe sections aren't that good for men IMO, colognes are a joke, stay away. Giving them 4 anyways for value and finding what I need. read more

The customer service at this Marshalls is greatly lacking to say the least. I stopped here one afternoon and spent about an hour shopping then about 15 minutes in the check out line. The young man who rang me up was very nice; I wish I would have thought to ask for the names of the employees here to point out the people with the poor customer service skills while mentioning that they are not all bad. Anyway, this gentleman had to call over his manager because the register denied my credit card. The manager came over and asked me if I had another card I wanted to use because my card was denied. I asked her to try again because there was no reason it should have been denied. With reluctance, she said she would try one more time but mentioned that maybe I went shopping more than I realized that day and didn't have enough money on it. EXCUSE ME!?!? If I am correct, it is not acceptable to say things like that to customers even if that may be the problem. Since I knew for a fact I had more than enough money on my card and had just checked my balance (not to mention that although I had enough to pay for the items but I had just transferred more money to my checking account from my savings). Again, the register declined my card. I had spent a good amount of time shopping and did not want to waste my time so I requested that she try another register. She wasn't too happy to do this but she did and to her surprise the card went through. Her attitude changed but there was no apology. The next day I realized they had left an item out of my bag so I went back to get it or my money back which was inconvenient for me, however, I was not angry. There was no separate line for returning items or customer service issues and nobody around for me to ask so I decided to hop in the long line before it got longer and waited about 15 minutes to get to a register to try to resolve this. I explained to the employee that an item I had purchased the previous day was left out of my bag. WShe said if I thought I could find it I could go look for it and bring it back up to her register without standing in the line. I found it put away on the shelf in the back and on my way back to the register I picked up an umbrella to purchase to feel like I had not wasted my time. She checked off my receipt and looked and waited for me to leave saying nothing. I told her I would like to purchase the umbrella. She got an attitude with me and said, "what do you want me to do I have customers waiting." This greatly upset me so I replied sternly that I would like her to go through with my purchase and that I shouldn't have had to come back there in the first place. I was embarrassed because she made it out to seem like I was cutting the line or something and treated me like I was not a customer. She unhappily went through with my purchase. Not once did she apologize for their mistake, treat me like my time was valuable, or treat me like a valuable customer. Although I love shopping at Marshalls, I do not plan on going back to this particular store. Very unsatisfied customer :( read more

I like this branch. Its big, clean and organized. It's also right next to Vallarta and CVS and a nail salon.

While the merchandise is good with prices to match I've stopped going to the store on Vanowen Avenue. I'm tired of the attitude of the sales assistants at the front desk. The younger ones are fine, but 2 or 3 of the older women (middle eastern) need to treat people with more curtesy, not just see us for our cash/credit cards. read more

Clean and organized. This is the best location out of all. They have a great selection on active wear. I have been struggling to find workout pants for some time now. I am Asian and 5ft. They actually carry xs on workout pants and fits perfectly. I can't belive it. Each were like $15. It's like winning the lottery for me! Lol... they have everything here. I have bought a lot of stuff here for my office. What a bargain. I have not ever walked out of here empty handed either. There is always something that I need. Gota love Marshalls. ^_^ read more

If I could only give zero stars...I would! Don't waste your time coming to this Marshalls. I'd rather take the time to drive to the one in Studio City. Every item I wanted had no tags so I had to walk around the entire store looking for an associate to help me with a price check. The first associate said the manager who prices just left and will be back soon to give me pricing. So I waited 10+ mins... FINALLY I see the manager and she starts talking to another associate and decides she wants to have an entire conversation with her instead of asking me if I needed help as I stood right next to them WAITING PATIENTLY... well my patience was gone AFTER the 5th time saying "excuse me" She answers and calls over another associate to help me... WTF REALLY?! Now I'm following this employee around the store to look for a similar item so she can "price" it. I ended up saying forget it and went to stand in the line, mind you this line was wrapped all the way to the back of the store! I waited in line for about 20 mins and only 1 person got called to check out. WOW WTF right?! I had gotten out of the line and saw an associate and politely asked if she would take my go back item because I was leaving the store. She had the audacity to tell me she had no go back cart and that I should just go put it back! I was shocked to say the least! As I was walking out I saw 3 employees just standing at the door! Meanwhile, you have an entire line inside and outside your door and none of those employees can open a register?! WOW! This is by far the worst Marshalls I have ever been to!
