The new store looks nice but the items look minimal. Similar to TJ MAXX. For a new location and remodel, I expected better. Hardly and associates. The ones you saw looked overworked. The lines were okay. But this was early afternoon when majority is at work. The bathroom was filthy. For a new store, how does a bathroom smell so bad and have wet floors around the toilet. The parking lot is a nightmare. Park far away because people don't know how to drive. Save the trip, nothing exciting here. read more

This Marshall's has changed a bit over the last couple of years. When I first started going here I enjoyed the frequent deals and great clearance items. During recent visits I can't say that's the case. Lately the store appears to have less merchandise and definitely less clearance. During my recent visit parking was easy to find, they have an entire parking lot that is shared with other business in the area. Once inside I noticed that the store didn't appear as full as it had during previous visits. I walked around the store and eventually found Thanksgiving items (it's mid January) that didn't appear to be priced to move. The store did move the clearance section around. Once I found it I was disappointed in the items. Half eaten snacks, broken merchandise, and overall junk. As a frequent visitor to other Marshall's locations for work I know that they can place items in a bin if they're not able to be sold. It doesn't appear that happens at this location. I stopped by this Marshalls since I happened to be in the area. It is a smaller and bare store. There is not as much inventory here, and it is cluttered. I think the only section that was well-organized was surprisingly the shoe clearance. As I navigated through the store, I observed that items were randomly grouped together. There was no order or arrangement to how items were placed. Once I reached the clearance area in the home section I was overwhelmed at the thought of rummaging through it all. I mean, it was a mess. Things were just tossed into that area and some items were not even on sale...a dumpster diver's dream. It was in the morning when I visited too, so it could have been left from the previous day. I did not wait long to check out; however, because of the time of day it was not busy. Clean, great selection of clothes, shoes, accessories, beauty items, home decor, gourmet foods and coffees, gift ideas, etc. Service here has always been pretty good too. I love the bargains I find in Marshalls. I buy all of my face care products here because it's so much cheaper here! Lots of parking spaces and located near restaurants and other shopping areas (Hmart is just behind it!) Be prepared to spend A LOT of time when you come to this branch though. I mean, I spend hours here because things are sometimes really disorganized, some of the clothes (especially on the clearance racks) are ripped/dirty, and most frustrating, the check out lines are ridiculously long. During the busy hours, the line piles up but there are only a couple of people working the registers??? With some patience, I usually find some good deals! I come to this branch since it's much closer to my house. However, I do enjoy the Marshalls at Rockville better since it's bigger and I think there's more selections. read more

I had to stop in today to return some pants. I had the original receipt but it was over 30 days. Therefore, they could only issue me a store credit. I was okay with this since I love Marshall's. The cashier was thorough in inspecting the pants to be sure that they still had tags and were not previously worn. It was a quick and painless return. This was my first time at this location so I wandered around a bit. This is a smaller location and it's fairly organized. A few things were on the floor but I've seen worse at other locations. Since this is a smaller store, it wasn't too hard getting a look at most every department. The shoe department definitely has more women's shoes. Same for the clothing. The home department has a little bit of everything but ultimately not too much selection. The beauty area had some nice nail polishes and plenty of Method hand soaps ($1.99) from this past fall season but nothing really excited me. I left with a nice big jar of blueberry jam ($6.99) and two super soft bathroom mats ($19.99). Despite the small selection, I was still able to find a few things that I wanted. If you're in the area, it's worth stopping in but don't go out of your way for their limited selection. read more

I liked this Marshall's okay, but really hated its long checkout lines. Then I went to the store in Rockville and what a difference. More inventory, neater racking, more employees makes for a better shopping experience. The Gaithersburg one is difficult to find things in due to so much inventory being in the wrong location or on the floor. The checkout line today is a good example of why I no longer like this place. I had 1 item and I was next in line for 10 minutes. 10 minutes because the only cashier was dealing with a complicated return requiring management. Management slowly arrived and took her time fixing the problem. Then she left rather than open a second register. I do like their furniture selection but again, if it's something you need more than 1 of, you won't find it here. Today they were completely out of window drapery hardware. read more

Horrible. Although I love shopping at these stores the service today was horrible! The lady cashier (coordinator) was the least helpful. When we had a dress with its price tag ripped off we asked for the price lookup. She repeatedly stated its expensive and whatever else instead of looking for the price. Her lack of customer service and taking an extra step to help us loss the store X amount of business. We could have bought the dress, but she was rude to begin with and little side comments did not make it any better. She should understand common courtesy aside from customer service 101. parking: lots of free parking located in the shopping center with trader joes / the shopping center behind hmart / across from lakeforest mall went inside. expected it to be disorganized and it was but oh my! there are so many good finds! candles for cheaper! rugs! throw pillows. oxo jars! chocolate! if you have free time and need home goods or neat food finds i would def recommend this place! not too sure about the clothes. great customer service. the lady who rang me up was super friendly. it is a little slow so do not go if you're in a hurry read more

The store is not only small but very cluttered and has very little selection. The beauty department is a joke there's hardly anything to choose from and it's extremely disorganized. I still managed to stay and shop a little but could hardly find anything that I'm used to finding at other Marshalls locations. Before my purchase, I had a simple return. I had to end up speaking with the manager Blake who was rude and uncaring. Needless to say I will not be returning . Treasure hunting is fun sometimes, especially if the price is right! Wife said this one was clean and well organized.

I try to avoid this place but when I get dragged in here I always hate it. Now it's not a bad store in general and you can find some decent stuff sometimes but its always so messy and crowded. The majority of the time there is a huge line and the staff take forever to ring everything up. I don't get why it takes so long in stores like these. read more

Pretty sad cuz I like marshalls. Most of the people who work here are young and jus dont care..or older with a chip on their shoulder. I went into the dressing room to try on some things and noticed it was a fairly older lady. I've always been taught to respect my elders...or even people at that matter. This lady from the moment I stepped back there had a unpleasant attitude towards me then tried to act like I was a fool for asking where shed like me to hang up the items I didnt like.. trying to make an uncomfortable moment pleasant, I joked with her saying they looked better on the racks all the time. Ha..my mistake..because she was quite clear saying yes they definitely do while givibg dirty looks!.. what is this place!!??? I like to go shopping at Marshalls so much. This store is not organized and sometimes, so messy compared to other stores. we love Marshalls, but this review is for the FLAVORED COFFEE Purchased there. One was cappucino flavor, the other one caramel.. just want to save you from this mistake. The coffee is un doctorable. I tried altering the amount of water, put in my own flavor, nothing could save it. either it is chemical tasting, or , I suspect, just plain OLD. I think it was sistting someplace in a warehouse, they bought it at closeout. UGG. I had two throw out two pounds. read more

Came here several times because it's conveniently located to trader joes where I get all my organic shopping down. The pricing a for many things are very reasonable and good quality furnitures much better than that of IKEA. I usually go straight to the furniture section and look at what's new. The sales people here are very cool and nice. Customer service is great here. No one had a bad attitude and I've been here several times. the only reason why I gave it a 4 star not 5 is because it's still lacking some inventory and organization compared to the huge one in Rockville. Let me just start out by saying I love Marshalls. I have been shopping here for years. I live less then 5 minutes away so I'm here about once a week to see what's new. I decided to write this review because this particular store has "messed up with me" twice. The first time they refused to sell me an item because it was part of a "two piece". They didn't know where the other part was and they refused to take my offer. The second time was a just a couple of days ago when I came here and found a really nice suitcase for my husband and it turns out they had put the wrong price on it. They realized it was wrong and they refused to sell it to me at the price that they had put on the item. We asked to speak with the manager and he denied it. I think that's really bad business. They make a mistake and they don't honor the price. Moral of the story, I won't be coming back to this location anymore. I would rather go somewhere else where they understand the importance of quality costumer service. read more

Not only the store is disorganized and line is long; it is now became "dangerous" to shop for the consumers. I bought a sweater dress for $39.99 before Xmas and changed my mind after the holiday since I got many stuffs on cheaper prices. I didn't even try to put it on again at home to get a 2nd look, this dress has been sitting in the same shopping bag the day I bought it. Then I took it to return, but was told the merchandise description on the tag for this dress doesn't not match the actual item. The brand name and description didn't match the item so they refused to take it back. i am an avid shopper and it never occurred to me that such thing could possibly happen. I was vey surprised to hear that and asked if there was any possibility that it was tagged wrong in the first place. The lady manager at the time told me that this dress is from a junior brand and couldn't be priced as high as 39.99. I explained to her i didn't take the tag off and had no idea why they don't match. You can clearly see the tag was still on the dress untampered and I hope you are not suggesting that I replaced the price tag. I also emphasized to her to review their tagging system, maybe there was a tagger who liked to put wrong tag on wrong clothes. (In fact, it is the 2nd time it happened to me for the merchandize I bought at this particular store; it was a pair of kids slipper that was not matching the description in the system. I was given a merchandise credit with no problem at a different location). The young cashier then agreed to refund me back as a courtesy and keep apologizing. i don't need the courtesy since I didn't do anything wrong but apology is accepted. Now I will reconsider to shop at this particular location, and I will ask cashier to check if the description on the tag matches with the actual item every time I shop Marshall.
