Anime section #fivebelow #Rockville @yelpdc

The store started putting out it's Christmas decorations and supplies even before we had Halloween. It began running very low on the Halloween decorations, supplies & costumes. Then the day after Halloween it began playing Christmas music and almost totally transitioned to Christmas! Patty the manager is really on top of things! She has very little choice with the a small backroom they have. This store is a regular stop for many in the Congressional Plaza shopping center. They get new things in all the time! Until next time be kind to each other. #fivebelow @yelpdc #varietystore #christmas

Self-check out.

The cleanest and the most organized Five Below I have ever been to. It's located next to the Aldi where hhgregg use to be. I was greeted by a fun group of staff and felt their warm welcome from the entrance. Everything at the store were neatly sectioned out. I noticed a few items that the other locations didn't have. They offer self-checkout which is very convenient. I don't mind driving all the way to Rockville Pike just to visit this exact location!

Let me start off by saying I LOVE Five Below. It's a fantastic, affordable store with a great selection of items. With that said, each location is different in layout, management, etc. I've been to this location specifically twice: First time, I don't recall exact timing but the male employee was kind of yelling to everyone walking near/to the store that they were closed/were closing. Just seemed kind of rude and it wasn't past their closing time, just getting close to it. The dude was yelling while holding the door open, it was kind of odd. Whatever, I just calmly walked to Aldis (I never went inside, the guy was literally blocking the door as customers were checking out). Second time, I had a great experience. It was around 3pm. I browsed the entire store for like an hour! I was in love with their summer collection, art supplies section, makeup section, jewelry section, food/candy section, and the women's clothing section. I bought so much stuff; Brush pens for art, a comfy bralette, some rings, a crop-top hoodie t-shirt (I love it), and more. They have self checkout too, which was awesome, easy to use, and fast! Will be back soon. As long as that mean guy isn't there again!

I've only seen the area from the highways that are tree lined. I am quite amazed by how out of touch I was for this area. This mall is quite expansive. The one thing I love about the DMV area is that the malls are still thriving. Not to the point where every single store is filled, but no where near dead mall territory. I had some time to kill before I had to head back home and wanting to pick up some items. Parking here had me. I wasn't sure where would be the best place to park. I ended up in the outdoor lots and didn't even want to mess with the parking structure. As a note, early here means you will encounter a slew of parents with their children in tow. Be careful and mindful in the parking lot as they will be everywhere. The mall had a bit of everything in here. The typical anchors and national chains you would expect to find in a mall. Food court area was jammed with eateries and customers. I opted to not eat here. Would definitely come back. Especially on a lazy day. Good people watching, enough stores to grab whatever you might be thinking of getting, and ample parking.

The food court is always packed with people with many different choices. The restaurants available inside the mall is always interesting. I saw a new Thai takeaway place downstairs near where Claire's used to be. The selections of the store keeps evolving. I had no idea Lululemon moved and has a bigger store now. It's hard to believe that the malls in America are dying when you see how crazy busy it is at the Mall. I couldn't find parking until I parked closer to the old Sears lot. And that was during a weekday well after Christmas and New Year's too. My nickname at work used to be the Mall Rat Haha! I can't wait to discover what new stores are coming and going the next time I return.

Target - Okay, who wants an expresso? No, I did not splurge on these machines.

The shopping carts were kind of stuck, so had to really jar them loose. Browsed around the different aisles and looked for items on sale, if there were any. Noticed the Electronics' section had minimized in terms of the space used and also the inventory. Earphones were in locked spaces, along with the PS5 games. DVDs/Movies were also locked away. Saw some Funko Pop figurines, but for regular retail prices. Apple iPhone Cases were on sale, but still pretty expensive. Walked around to see the drinks and food aisles, which had a good variety of things to choose from. Chips and gummies were on the expensive side compared to other stores. Bought some Organic Milk, which was $5.99 a gallon. Christmas themed clothes for the kids were intriguing. For Adults, there seemed to be some odd looking clothes for the Holidays, like the fabric and styles were eccentric looking. Personal hygiene and toiletries were adequately stocked. Saw some items on sale for the Men's Cremo products as well as The Rock's personal care items.

I can't understand why so many businesses can't manage a simple phone line anymore but for an organization as resourceful and longstanding as Target this is beyond unacceptable. They're also terrible at handling product restocks, shifting inventory, and managing store policies. Many items are overpriced and low quality. The one "saving grace" is most floor level employees are friendly but that's the only nice thing I can truthfully say. Hopefully we will get some better alternatives in the area to shop at in the near future..

You have to weave around the back and side of the store to find certain items. They had some cute stuff. I would say the items were pretty reasonable. I am having regret about not buying this cute rocking horse nutcracker. The prices were pretty good. As far as sales help, they were busy stocking and manning the registers. They had a nice selection of larger nutcrackers and other decorations. But, again, there was some imperfections and damages on the merchandise. I am sure, that no one is going to come and inspect, my decorations, but I just wanted something without visible damage. So, if you are a little less picky than me or you are handy and can repaint or fix these items, you are in for a treat. I would definitely try it again and see if they had some new items in stock. I may go back for the rocking horse nutcracker. I hope it is still there. Happy shopping!

I might then  walk over to the Tower Records and buy a movie soundtrack or a necklace.      These two places  were high on my list. There even use to be a movie theater here, but that went the way of the dodo. Speaking of going the way of the dodo, Tower Records also went that way too. The space for the old Tower Records has been taken up only to shutdown two times that I can remember.  Today I learned that Barns&Nobles has taken up residence there. Even though it is only one floor,  the space is huge.  Tower Records had some problems filling the space, but they did it with the jewelry section, the adult videos/magazines section and the standard magazine sections.   I think Barns&Nobles won't have a problem filling the space.  I know there is a Starbucks store at Congressional Plaza akready,  but I have a feeling another one might be added inside the Barns&Nobles store at some point...if there isn't one already. I will have to check out this plaza the next time I am in town. I wanna see the inside of this Barns&Nobles; as well, as other areas of the plaza.

My husband did extensive research and although the color variation he wanted (charcoal / black with the logo in dark), was unavailable, he was excited to have the comfort offered in the masks. Before we left for the mall, I spoke with UA team member, Dan, on the phone to confirm the colors they had in stock. I was very grateful as Dan spent a lot of time confirming the colors available in the sizes we needed, why we couldn't use the gift card online (issue with the card), and how we could check with other stores to check their stocked inventory. It seemed that the stores aren't able to get too many color variations of the mask due to supply and demand. The store is fairly large, and we wanted to be in and out, so we thankfully crossed paths with team member, Christine. Christine was exceptionally helpful as she spoke with us about the mask and even reconfirmed our measurements for them. She used a disposable paper measuring tape and had us hold the tape from the bridge of the nose to the ears (the UA website also offered guidance on how to measure for a proper mask fit, which is what we had initially used). Then, after confirming we didn't need to make any other purchases, we were guided to a quick checkout station. Thanks to Christine, we were indeed in and out of the store in mere minutes! We ended up getting masks in the charcoal / black with the chrome logo, under the current promotion of 2/$40. UA is also honoring a great promotion for First Responders and Military Personnel (Healthcare and Educational staff included) for 20% off of their purchases (an increase from the regular 10% discount). Not only was the staff helpful, but the store was clean, well organized, and I appreciated the pandemic precautions taken with offering hand sanitizer right at the entrance of the store and at the checkout counter, as well. Thanks UA!
