The restroom area smells awful, and the baby clothing seems to be in disarray and quite un-organized. The people who work here seem completely 'whatever' about working here, there is usually one person at the registers and the other woman at the registers seemed waaaay too preoccupied with her very own nails to really be of much use. Every shopper for him or her self, that seems to be the motto of this particular store. In Southern California, the Marshalls shops seem to be cleaner, better organized, and the workers helpful. I will never buy shoes here again. In fact, if the district office doesn't call back, I will never buy my dress shirts and slacks here either. The supervisor, Darwin, looked at the shoes and said "did you wear them?" AAAHH, of course, why would I try them on and buy them, then try and return them? I wore them, the right shoe started to fold near the base of the toes, and became uncomfortable. I just wanted a store credit to get different shoes, but now I want more!! Do you really want to lose a customer, or 10, or 100 because you wouldn't help a customer with a shoe issue. Bad business decision, Darwin. read more

I came to return a pair of pants, gray and black, l bought back in December. I couldn't try those first at the store, but at home once's I put the gray pants on, I noticed it had a small hole in the leg, and it looked like someone had already used it, returned, and the store had sold those pants like that again. Because of the store's policy, I couldn't bear the pants right away because of the holidays. When I came back to try again to return the pants, they didn't accept those back, claiming I had worn them when I had only tried them. I'm not fighting over the $20 this cost me. I know it was my mistake. I didn't check the quality of the clothes before, but why should I do it? If it is supposed to be a "respectable place. " I understand that is my word against them. But as they did to me, please check what you get returned, and if you see it doesn't have the quality it's supposed to have, don't resell the items. Because is people like me, who used to believe in the quality of your store and they can feel robbed as I feel now. read more

Good decent shoes selection. Horrible service! People working there seems sad and angry. Its like they doing you a big favor working there. I was returning defective shoes. Customer service lady didn't say a word, didn't even look at me. No personality! She called a manager though. The manager was exactly same way. No word, no talk, nada. I like this place a lot! But that's because I am a world champion, trained bargain hunter. It took me some time to appreciate this place for what it is, a spot to hunt for hours to find one shirt or pair of shoes that you like or to spend those same two hours hunting through all the racks, trying clothes on a few times, only to find NOTHING!!!! I went there yesterday b/c I was in need of a new pair of dress shoes for work and didn't want to pay $125-$250 at Macy's or Nordstrom's b/c I'm on a tighter budget these days. So, I went up there, looked around for about 15 minutes, tried on the pair I liked and was ready to make my purchase. Now, here is where you need to do some work. I opened up the box, tried on both shoes (just b/c it says 11, doesn't mean shit) and looked them over like they were a Valentine's gift for my girl. I ALWAYS make sure there is a Right and a Left shoe, check for scuffs on the shoe top and bottom (prime example, the outside of the first pair I tried on looked smooth, when I turned them over, it looked like some chap bought them, wore them to a wedding or in the garden and returned them) and they were busted. Checked the next pair, which happened to be the last pair in my size and those were good to go. Honestly, as much as I would love for them to be completely perfect, free of little blemishes, they weren't. I take into account that A) It's fuckin' Marshalls and B) they are able to sell me these kicks for $40 instead of $150 b/c they were likely sent to them by Nordstrom's or Macy's b/c the big name stores couldn't sell them and I don't really give a shit! Comes with the territory. So, that's my lesson for How to get the best out of your Marshall's experience. Happy bargain hunting friends! read more

Clean and nicely organized. But the bathroom smelled like weed. Unlike some Marshalls Stores, they had most of the shoe sizes. I usually have trouble getting shoes because 7-7.5 seems to be the most popular sizes and theyre always sold out, but at this store, I was able to find many 7 and 7.5 size shoes. read more

If you catch deals and sales at the right time; this store can be one of the greatest places to shop, but the only problem is; many of the items in stock are usually repetitive or less than fashionable. I usually stop by here whenever I'm in Colma to see if I can add to my shoe collection, but 9 times out of 10; I leave empty handed. The selection of men's shoes are very weak here, no one with any fashion sense would be caught in Crocs or Top Siders in their daily life. Like many other Marshall's, this one has excellent discounts. I admit their shoe selection is not great according to my style, but I can manage to find something once in a while. It's not easy to find great clothes either, but once in a while I'll troll around and pick up a gem like the last pair of Michael Kors capris in my size. Nice! What this Marshall's is awesome for is the kitchen stuff though. If I need something, I'll go here before anywhere else including Amazon. The prices are discounted about 50% or more. I bought a nice Zyliss garlic crusher and found it here for half the price. They have nice dishware, pots and pans too. I bought some 320 thread count Calvin Klein King sheets here for $50. Score! I'd definitely check a local Marshall's before stepping foot in a Bed Bath and Beyond or any other full price home goods retailer. read more

Great store for women's shoes and clothing. Decor and kitchen items, too. I wish the selection of baby clothes was better but they do carry lots of books, toys, and kid dishes. I had come in to look for area rugs and bath mats and I was disappointed in the options. There were literally 2 rugs that were bigger than 2x4. However, I did pick up some cute storage baskets and I noticed a lot of trendy bedding options. And, unexpectedly, I picked up some clothes for myself so, hey, not so bad. This store is very clean and organized and the service is friendly. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the dressing room attendant was and how spacious the rooms are. read more

For every one friendly staff here, you have about four people who are not happy working at this Marshalls. As I was looking for my fiance at 9:31 pm to leave, the store manager as well as a few others told me sternly, to put it very nicely, that I must exit immediately. I understand that the closing time is strict but your customer service earned you a big whopping zero stars. This is about a 3.5 stars for me. I'm not sure how the head honchos at Marshall's decide to distribute their liquidated crap, but for whatever reason, this Marshall's is their favorite child, and the one on Market Street is the red-headed step-child. For that reason, and also because there's a Nordstrom not too far away (discount shopper's dream, boyfriends worst nightmare), I prefer to make the drive to come to this Marshall's. I've never found a good pair of shoes here, but I have lucked out and scored quite a few name-brand coats, jeans, and dresses. It's worth monitoring the shipments from time to time, because when they get a shipment of Michael Kors dresses in (all priced at just under $50), its really a very good thing. When it's good, its really really good and really really cheap. Otherwise, there's plenty of housewares, luggage, sunglasses, and my prized possession, a ceramic ionic hair straightner that retails at $200 that I picked up for $30, to keep you occupied for hours upon hours on a Sunday afternoon. One thing--I wouldn't really bother with the men's selection. It tends to really suck. Which is unfortunate because that means my boyfriend is 10x more bored here than he is at Nordstrom Rack. Oh well, at least there's a Best Buy and Home Depot across the street. We'll call it even. read more

Pretty good size store with plenty of parking and enough check out points at any give time minimizing your wait time. Love the cookware selection, quite extensive Friendly staff Women's clothing department could use a better selection on new arrivals I always find it difficult to find small or medium sizes. Every other store including kohl's down the street will refund you no questions asked without needing a card, receipt, or even tag. Favorite Marshall in the Bay Area! Nice Staff and I always find good stuff when I'm there

Got up early to do a little shopping for Fall and decided to hit up Marshalls. I was on a mission for some nice cashmere sweaters (just like their current commercial says they have;). ....Well, I totally scored! At the front entrance, there they were! They had nice long ruffled ones perfect for wearing with leggings and boots. I gladly scooped up a dark purple one and navy one too. I'm now ready for the cooler SF evenings... and they disguise the preggo belly! Also, found 3 adorable baby outfits by Maggie & Zoe. Really nice quality, and knitted/embroidered too. Some ladies next to me were eyeing them, but for too long..you snooze you lose! read more

I like this Marshalls and have been going for a few years. The staff are generally nice and the place is clean and organized. However, yesterday I had an unpleasant experience with a cashier named Noli. He was trying to convince my husband and I to sign up for a credit card. When we said no, he wasn't very courteous as he was when he was asking us to sign up. He flicked the receipts towards us, didn't even fold the clothes we bought and didn't even get a thank you. Mind you we spent a good amount of money on our purchases yesterday. read more

Store Manager, Mark G, does not know how to resolve customer issues. After we got home, we realized there was an item that was charged on our receipt that we did not have. My husband returned to the store to find out if we left an item or they can tell from the receipt what the item was. The answer from Mark is no and no. My husband offered to leave his name and number so they can call him and Mark's reply was "We are busy". By the way, Mark G would not give his full name. Bet you if we had good things to say about him, he will willingly give it. But you see, he refused to give his last name because this may not be the first time a customer was going to complain about him. read more

the selection here is pretty good. lately they have been displaying an awesome line of shoes and boots, with brands such as juicy, ugg, cole haan, jessica simpson, and even coach and via spiga. the store is relatively organized and the selection is much better then the nearby ross. if you are looking for something in particular you will need to have the patience for frequent visits, a little digging, and a lot of luck. my only complaint is the current manager, a tall black man resembling idris elba. i've never met anyone in retail who's exuded more holier-than-thou-i'm-too-good-for-this attitude. i've returned a few items (it's difficult to shop for my disabled mother) and every time he makes me feel like crap for it. it's nothing that he says in particular, just his tone. even when i hand him my credit card to refund my purchase, he waves at the machine as if i'm inconveniencing him and should know to do it myself. ugh if people like that hate the world so much, they should really stay away from any positions that have the word "customer" or "service" in the job description. read more

I will never shop here again. I bought a pair of boots here about a month ago. The zipper broke and I cannot fix it so I took them back. I was told that once an item is worn you cannot exchange or return it. If this was Macy's or Nordstrom's they'd have taken it back immediately. If something is BROKEN due to a manufacturing flaw, then it is up to the company selling that item to either take it back for credit, or let me exchange the item. They did neither and now I'm stuck with a $100 pair of boots that I cannot wear. This is the first time I shopped here and the last. I will not shop here again. Deals were alright but the cashier was trying to argue with me that she asked if I wanted a bag. She clearly lied in front of her manager who was 10 feet behind her by the exit. I had already paid. So she rang me up for fifty cents to buy a bag... I hope she feels good... She just not only provided crappy customer service by not just asking her boss if I could have a bag due to her mistake... But she actually lost the company money by a charge that cost more than the purchase... So frustrating. read more

Man some of the prices for shoes and stuff is out of whack. You'll get some steals but what is up with the nike shocks shoes that look like it came off a homeless person? You know the white ones on the clearance rack that's black from dirt on the bottom, worn dark sweat spots all over the ankle area? The price was $26 then jumped back to $36 when black friday came around. Your going the wrong way with the price. I wouldn't buy these shoes even if you gave them to me for $1. So depressing also are the 2 lone electric big wheel cars for $150 each thats been sitting there for the las 3 weeks and no one bought. That's sad, a major store the could not sell 2 toy cars! Get a clue and lower your prices, costco sells the same cars for $100 a pop and they have the original box. read more

Complete disappointment. This location stepped it up this summer with friendly new employees, being clean & organized....but not anymore. On my recent trip there this week, I could not help but notice that the store now looks like an over stocked flea market with items all over the floor. The Christmas items have been so crammed into the home & beauty section SO much that it was a turn off. There were so many customers opening packages & tossing them back into a pile, every liquid soap has been opened & sampled, & the makeup area....wow: many women were sampling everything & just leaving them in a pile. I even saw an older Asian lady actually open a lipstick, put it on her lips & put it back! I asked her if we were allowed to sample any of the makeup & she said "I don't see a sign saying not to" I was shocked & disgusted. That means you could be buying used makeup from this location....buyer beware. Then while looking for Christmas ribbons I found a lot of them all over the floor while trying not to step all over pet supplies so I skipped it. While paying for my sweater, a manager at the next register was calling out another cashier's error, which she corrected, and laughed at her all while he was attending his own customer. She just turned to her next customer, smiled & went on as if nothing happened-what a Saint! Mark was the name, my cashier gave me when I asked, of that very hostile manager. I would never work under that kind of belittling environment. To say the least my experience & opinion has bottomed out for this location. It has gone from a go to store this summer to an overstocked, customer rummaged, health hazard with questionable management skills. This location is no longer worth the trip. Unless you're going for shoes, I suggest finding another clothing store. I'm sorry, it might just be me being a terrible shopper - unable to ever find anything - but this store seems very just all-over-the-place. It's not messy by any means, but I just don't get their whole setup. However, shoe selection is very good. I bought Madden boots here that I love and have had for almost a year now I think. The two stars is for the bad management! Good luck taking anything back to this store even with a receipt! I had a terrible experience dealing with one of the managers this bald Filipino guy. He wouldn't take a clothing back cos he said it looks "worn" the tags was still on the item. Same goes for shoes, accessories and children's books. I called Marshalls corporate and they were more than happy to take care of my situation. If you are ever returning anything and you encounter this bald Filipino guy and he won't do a return, call corporate or take it to the San Bruno store. read more

It's a good selection of clothes for Juniors and men's. The home decor selection is also a good variety. The shoes and children's section is a hit or miss. I also frequent the purse and accessory section and somehow find a fabulous purse, hat, or scarf. read more

Slightly defective clothes and home goods. A good place to grab some sheets or towels, as long as you are not looking for something in particular, because you are going to get what they give you. The selection of home goods stuff is not as much as Ross, but it still is fun to browse through all the junk in hopes of finding something good. The line can be long, which at that point I usually just drop everything and take off. Go during the week after work, it is much less crowded. read more

This store is more organized than most. You'll find your everyday items, kitchen & bath accessories, pets, gadgets, shoes and women's, men's and children's clothing. It's a discount store so be prepared to rummage the racks and shelves . The store is pretty clean. They remodeled their bathrooms so that was a nice surprise. The selection here is okay. You can't complain about their prices as you can find great deals here. It does get a little hectic in here during the holidays, but what store isn't. The staff is just okay. They are friendly but if you ever need help on the floor with something, good luck finding an associate. Your best bet is to just go to the dressing room to look for help or the cash wrap. The cashiers are usually pretty chipper so I never have issues at the registers with purchases or returns. It's definitely a more pleasant shopping experience than going to the Ross nearby. There is a parking lot with plenty of space. It's located conveniently located off of freeway 280 in the Metro Mall Plaza. This plaza has a Bed Bath & Beyond, Anna's linens, Styles for less, Mens warehouse, Old Navy, Joann's, Nordstrom Rack, Home Depot Pro, Burger King, SAS shoes, a store that sell really good ham, a small filipino eatery, a Pier 1 and your seasonal Halloween store. read more

We've shopped here several times now. It's getting better. This used to be a solid two-star performer, but they seem to have a better selection lately. If you've never experienced Marshall's, be prepared--it's cramped, the displays are crowded and often disheveled, and it can be ridiculously crowded if you don't go early. On the flip side, you can get some fantastic steals if you look hard enough. I've walked out of this place with all kinds of things, from neckties to luggage, kitchen gadgets to dress socks. Double bonus if you can find something on "clearance." Great place for sportswear, too. I like sports. read more
