Thrift shopping really is a box of mystery candies. You know what to expect, but you don't know…read morewhat you'll walk into until you get there. I come to Five Below for the graphic t-shirts. They're cute and funny with a wide variety that changes every few weeks. They also have a good range of sizes. Most of the items are novelties, but they're fun to browse. I always forget how large the candy section is before the registers, calling your name and paying you back with a dental visit later. The store wasn't very clean, and items were scattered all over the place. Also, the only place for reusable bags for purchase is in the front of the store as you walk in, so if you need to buy one and forget where they are, the other options are to pay 35 cents per plastic bag or not use a bag. There should be more displayed near the register so people can easily find them. The experience is fun, but it's still your average thrift store. Not bad, not great, but okay. Also, the Santa decoration is terrifying.

Today, Roselia completely changed my mind. As soon as she looked at my feet, she noticed how narrow they are and explained that the sandals simply needed to be adjusted properly. She took the time to carefully adjust every strap until they fit exactly as they should. The difference was incredible. Once everything was adjusted, they were as comfortable as everyone says they are. I ended up purchasing my first pair of Birkenstocks, and thanks to Roselia, I know they won't be my last. Roselia never made me feel rushed and genuinely wanted to make sure I found the right fit. She is knowledgeable, patient, and attentive--exactly the kind of employee every retailer hopes to have. Thank you for taking the time to help me have such a great first Birkenstock experience!

Kind of miss the old store before the renovations to make it feel more modern. We used to stop in and scour the endcaps for great clearance items. We still like stopping in and looking around, but in the old days we couldn't walk out of a Target without buying something. Any more we can easily walk out. At least we have a cool place to get our steps in and every once in a while, we find some deals like they used to carry all the time. Just a different vibe, I guess. That's more of a mark on the entirety of Target stores than this particular location though. We have stuck by this one more than any other location. We missed it when they needed to shut it down for months after a shoplifter was caught starting fires in the store as distractions. Turns out that setting off the sprinklers not only ruins merchandise but it can be a hazard and shut a store down indefinitely. This store is in a great spot and has a Starbucks inside. The Target employees are quick to help and very friendly.

Nordstrom is usually known for exceptional customer service, so this experience was extremely…read moredisappointing. My husband purchased a pair of shoes that ended up being too big. The shoes were in perfect condition, with the tags and receipt, and there was absolutely nothing wrong with them. When he attempted to return them, the employee acted as though they no longer accepted shoe returns. My husband has an accent and is not originally from this country, and the way he was treated made us very uncomfortable and concerned that he was being treated differently because of that. I called the store afterward to clarify the return policy and was assured that there was no policy preventing them from accepting a return on shoes. Then traveled out of the country. Before leaving, a manager had assured us that they would take care of the situation when we returned. Unfortunately, by the time we came back, we were outside the return window for receiving the money back on the original payment method. The new manager we dealt with was not understanding or considerate of the situation. In fact, she told us that even the store manager might not be able to do anything, but that manager would not be back for another five days. After everything that had happened, we were left wondering what the purpose of waiting another five days would be. We ultimately accepted store credit just to resolve the situation and move on. Then, as we were leaving, we could see the three employees together through the window, laughing shortly after our interaction. Whether they were laughing about us or not, that is certainly how it appeared, and it was incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful. This entire situation could have been handled so easily with basic communication, understanding, and customer service. Instead, it became a frustrating experience from beginning to end. Nordstrom has a reputation for taking care of its customers. Unfortunately, this particular experience was the complete opposite. I sincerely hope management reviews what happened, because every customer deserves to be treated with respect and dignity--regardless of their accent, background, or how they communicate.

However, what really stood out during our visit was the customer service, which easily bumped this up to a four-star experience. Even though the section we were shopping in was quiet and didn't have many customers around, a sales associate approached us quickly and offered help without being pushy. She went above and beyond by checking prices for us and helping us narrow down our options, which made the whole experience feel more personal and easy. Because of her, we ended up making a purchase--and that says a lot. Another nice bonus is that this location features a Toys "R" Us section, which adds a fun, nostalgic touch, along with a Macy's Backstage area where you can find a variety of items at additional discounted prices. All in all, it's a solid Macy's with standout service that makes the visit more enjoyable than expected.
