Daiso is a Japanese store that is a lot like a blend of Five Below and Walgreens. Their wares range from snacks/drinks to simple household goods (dishes, kitchenware, decorations, etc). They have beauty products, stationary, toys, party goods, personal care, and more. They carry licensed products of some famous brands like Disney and Sanrio (creator of Hello Kitty). Most of the items are plastic and inexpensive. The store itself is laid out in several dozen aisles that are easy to find thanks to simple store signage. The store is glitzed in LED bright white light and their bright pink paint. They don't have too many workers around so you'll likely need to find the stuff yourself. They also usually only have one cashier and encourage the self-checkout. Overall, this is a neat store to peruse if you've never been in one. It's a great place for some starter kitchen and dishware for college students or young adults. Kids will love a lot of items in here as well. read more

Small price, big surprise. Only at Daiso. It has always been a delight to go to Daiso. I have visited several Daiso stores located back when I was still in the Philippines and when I had a travel to South Korea. It never fails to impress me for you can find everything--from cute stationery, Japanese food, kitchen gadgets, beauty products, and home decor. Every rack and in every aisle is filled with unique items you didn't know you needed until you get hold of it. The best part about Daiso is that it is incredibly cheap that you have not noticed you are already indulging a little shopping spree. I went to a new one of these in the Chicago area. It was 3x the size and had all sorts of world Market /ikea types of home goods. This one feels more dollar store. It was ok, but it paled in comparison to the other o went to. read more

Oh how happy I am to see Daiso in Arizona! I've been to several other out of state locations, and not sure why it took me so long to make my way here. The place was busy, and seems to have created quite a local following and for good reason! They have a large selection of Japanese snacks, dish-ware, gadgets, and trinkets! I felt like a kid again! I had to restrain myself from buying a bunch of things I probably did not need. My favorite things here were the Japanese snack foods and sauce containers! My kids and I really enjoyed our trip to Daiso! This is essentially a Japanese dollar store. They have EVERYTHING! Home goods, kitchen, garden, stationery, snacks and so much more! The place was clean and very organized. While we didn't have anything specific I was looking for we left with a bag full of stuff for $30! I always have fun coming to daiso, which is Japanese discount store. It's always like a treasure hunt, with lots of cool little things that you don't find a better stores. I have found things that I'm looking for here that I couldn't find on Amazon! They have a nice variety of cute Japanese cartoon character items, and I've even found some Hangyodon (iykyk) items. I always find something I need in the kitchen items section, the travel section, and the stationary section. I often leave here with things I didn't know I needed until I went to daiso! This store is so fun! There's so many little affordable things and gadgets that make your life easier and at a fraction of the price that you would pay. For example I bought a lingerie bag that I would normally pay $10-$15 on Amazon for $1.75, and a single sticky notepad for $1.75. They also have silicone bags. They have some hello kitty stuff. My husband loves there workout stuff cause it's very cheap and functional. They have a variety of selection from stationary, to small mini bags, to kitchen, bathroom, storage, animal toys, to cute stuff. but i love there food section, cause they have a lot of japanese food they also have matcha powders, japanese coffees, teas and drinks. What's really weird is that they have a popcorn that's spicy and it's chicken flavor, when we tried it, it was awesome. Staff is very friendly, they also have self checkout, you just have to pay for the paper bags. they don't have public restroom. read more

So, we have been huge Daiso fans for years now, having been to locations all over southern California and two in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is so awesome having one just a few miles from our home. We have already been to this new location several times. The assortment of inexpensive items at Daiso must be seen with your own eyes. They have so many inexpensive and unique items. If something is not marked it is generally only $1.75. Additional pricing is listed on items in Japanese Yen amounts, so you need to double check the many posted guides which translate the amounts into dollars. They have stuff for your kitchen, your pets, your office, your camping gear, your garden, tech devices and accessories. They also have an excellent assortment of snacks and drinks. My favorite are the Pote chips - in three or four different flavors. A favorite of ours is their stationary section. All sorts of cool stickers, paper holders, clips, washi tape, pen holders, and misc. plastic or wire containers. Employees are constantly restocking the shelves and adding new items. Keep an eye out for many Disney, Coca Cola, Sanrio, or Tokidoki items. One new feature they've added at their stores which makes checking out easier and faster is their new self-checkout lanes. Daiso Fact: Daiso Japan develops about 700 New products each month! How is that even possible!? I came to Daiso during their soft opening and I'm glad I did --- they've been busy ever since with a lot of their items not being restocked. Having been to a multiple of their locations throughout California, I was ecstatic that we were getting our own location in AZ. While the AZ location is only a fraction of the size of their CA counterparts, they still have a great selection of items. It's easy to walk away after spending a small fortune. With items priced at $1.75+, these items are truly great. My first visit gave me a $60 bill while my second visit gave me a $30 bill. I already have plans to get more items for my next visit. Bring your reusable bags here or pay $0.20 for their bag to carry your goods home. read more

This is a Japanese "dollar" store. I waited long enough not to be mobbed at this store. Apparently when the store first opened it was very crowded. Most items are $1.75. There are signs in various parts of the store giving the customer different prices on certain items. Aisles are marked with items you will find. The store carries just about everything from A to Z. It was very busy at the soft opening today for the first Daiso location in Arizona! From make up to doggie waste bags this store offers something for everyone. Garden tools, electronic cables, gel pens, kitchen gadgets, stuffed animals and awesome storage containers are just some items we looked at. Items start at $1.75 up to $25 plus. This store is smaller than the ones I frequent in California or B.C. Canada but it still has a fair size inventory. Bring your own bags unless you'd like to purchase one at the cashier or self check out. There is lots of free parking and there were many staff members on hand today. read more

I can't wrap my head around why so many people like this store. I found it to be subpar and didn't grasp my attention for very long. Mind you I am the Queen of buying things I don't need and I'm pretty sure I have ADD. Lol tried this place out twice, both times it was a very dull shopping session for me. This was my first visit here. The lines were long for the first couple months, so I waited. Pretty cool place with lots of cool innovated stuff. Daiso has thousands of locations all over the world. I found the prices to be pretty affordable. Daiso has all sorts of Japanese inspired products from house gadgets and decor to office supplies to grocery items. I found myself mostly in the kitchen section because I enjoy cooking. They charge a small amount for grocery bags here, so bring one from home. read more

This particular Daiso is the largest I've been in thus far. The store had the same items you'd expect to find at any Daiso location, but since it was larger, there was more of the same items, such as Sanrio, stationery, snacks, organization, cleaning supplies/accessories, hair accessories, plushies, and so much more. Like every other Daiso, the store is clean and organized. There isn't a sales person/customer service person walking around and asking if you need any help, but there's always someone at the front of the store that can help you out. I love the selection here and the very affordable prices. I came on a Thursday afternoon and although Daiso shares a parking lot with Teso Life and Ranch 99, it was easy to navigate in and out of these stores and leave the parking lot without incident. read more

It's like a treasure hunt where the treasure is anything and everything you never knew you needed (or didn't need, let's be real). Sure, not everything is top quality, but who cares when you're paying pocket change for it? Just be prepared to leave with a basket full of randomness and a newfound appreciation for the art of impulse buying. *this review revolves around my experience shopping here with my family in march of 2023* me and my family moved here from cali in 2019, so we've already had prior experiences with shopping at daiso. we were psyched that there was finally a location in phoenix, so we headed on our merry way here. for starters, this branch was EXTREMELY crowded. i took into account that the grand opening for this location had occurred a week prior to our patronage, but i never could've imagined that it would've been this packed! it was hard for us to maneuver around the store since it seemed as if the customer limit was beyond the maximum capacity. there was also a customer coughing and not wearing a mask which was a major turn-off. the coughing served as my and my mother's cue to head to the car whilst my older sister continued shopping. despite this less than stellar experience, a positive that came out of it was that i got to try some new snacks. i'm optimistic that my next visit here will be more enjoyable than this one. read more

The dollar store of Japan, is here and thriving! Looking for cute stationary? Gift bags? Pens and pencils for school? This is the place plus more! If you need something that isn't too expensive, this place also has bathroom, kitchen Tupperware, slippers, socks, bento boxes, and cute stuff animals for the kids. My go to is their collaboration with Sanrio, Rilakkuma and other weird Japanese animated characters. Stickers galore, small toy section with Lego like sets. Stuff is very cheap and so most don't last long. The travel bags are pretty flimsy. I wouldn't trust the makeup facial section. By check out if you're hungry definitely grab a Japanese snack like Pocky, and a drink. I recommend the yuzu soda! read more

Found this place through a tick tock and knew my anime loving child would want to come. It is so great! Lots of fun sanio products, treats from Japan, and cool kitchen stuff. Plus other household finds. We told the two girls with us they could have $15 each to spend and they spent close to an hour hunting all the aisles and deliberating over their selections. Two things to be aware of though - 1) bring a bag or be prepared to buy one. The bags don't cost much but we also didn't see any in stock at self checkout. 2) though it was promoted as a dollar store in the video I saw, it is not. There are price sheets throughout the store, showing price on bag and what that converts to in dollars. Cheapest is $1.75 and it goes up to like $10. Daiso One of those kind of places where you can buy a bunch of stuff that you don't really need because you think it is cheap and still spend over $100. The aisles are narrow because the store needs to stuff as many items as possible, almost can't fit 2 people going opposite directions and if one has a shopping cart forget about it. Daiso was very busy on the day I went to visit. It was on a Friday so I was not expecting the crowd that was there. It seems like a lot of people were finding the deals they were hoping for because many had at least a few items they wanted to purchase and the line to check out was fairly long. I found it just a tad too busy for me to stay and browse so I decided that I would take a quick look and then I quickly left after that since I don't like heavy crowds. I will try again another day. While doing a quick browse I saw quite a few items, like kitchen items, storage items, food items, and that's as far as I got. They had a type of shopping basket that was upright. The store was hectic with shoppers looking to find a good buy. The shelves were filled with many items and the stockers were restocking while I was there. The store appeared to be clean and filled with many interesting items. read more

All right to be honest, I will give it about 3 1/2 stars. I was so excited to see the store open up and took my kids up here from the west valley. The prices aren't that bad. Honestly it's a lot like a five below and they have just about everything, the Cons is the aisles are very small and they're still super busy. So it was a lot of maneuvering trying to check out the whole store which is amazingly big, but I also felt like they should have given more room. To be fair I am sure as this place continues to be open. The crowds may not be as packed as they were. And there's a lot more places opening up around them and I do hope they open this place in Phoenix. I think as time goes and more locations open my rating may go up. The wife has had a strong desire to visit this establishment for quite a while now. So, since we were in Tempe/Chandler area enjoying a good lunch we decided to stop by and check out Daiso. I can only describe it as a cross between the 99 cents-only store, dollar tree, and Dots. It has something for everyone and while the pricing is a bit weird (it is a Japanese store after all) they do a good job with signage that displays the price in English for you. It seemed to be very popular amongst the locals but I wouldn't drive any kind of distance just to shop here. Like I said your local 99-cent store, dollar tree, or dots will suffice. A cute little store that I kept seeing on TikTok. They have a lot of little knick knacks with some having a little bit of a questionable quality but seems to be more about the aesthetic of them. Since it is pretty out of the way for me, there isn't really anything I would make the drive for but would stop in if I was in the area just to look around. read more

Wow what a great selection of Japanese goods! There were way too many people though! I couldn't even enjoy looking at things because people were constantly in the way or walking by. I want to go back when it isn't busy! I bought apple juice, chicken wing flavored chips, and played claw games! I won a stuffed squirrel! Each token costs $1 so each game was $2. I think it's pricey... I spent $10 on tokens. I'm happy I won something! The apple juice and chips were delicious. I want to go back and buy a bunch of things. I love Daiso. I am so glad that they were brave enough to come to Arizona. I am Asian who also lives in San Diego, and frequent other heavily Asian populated cities such as Monterrey Park, CA. But as long as Daiso stays near (like almost next door) Asian anchors like 99 Ranch Market, I think they are safe. I appreciate Daiso for instance, in equipping my little Sunrader RV, 17 foot camper. Daiso has all kinds of clear plastic storage and organizer bins. I like clear. Other stores such as the dollar stores do not have clear with clear lids. Daiso also has peel and stick sheets for RV backsplashes, and stickers you can put in RV windows to make them like stained glass, or to pretty up plain white or black wastebaskets. I also purchased a couple of super light stainless steel cooking pots, so my little RV can get better gas mileage, everything light is here at Daiso. Minimalist light cutting boards, light plastic dishes, cooking utensils that no other place has, such as crab cracking and cutting scissors and knick knacks for Asian cooking.. It seems obviously that Angry Crab next door, purchased their crab cutting scissors here at Daiso, cos they are the same. I found a plastic box at Daiso, that fits perfectly between the seatbacks of drivers and passenger, for me to throw stuff in that box, like drinks, CDs, flashlights, calculator (to calculate my mpg), RV records notebook, sunglasses. I even bought my super light house slippers at Daiso. At one time, the San Diego Daiso had these lovely very real-looking silk orchids for $1.00. I bought many, put them in pots and gave them as gifts, and also decorated vacation rental homes with those. But like with other dollar stores, you only see merchandise for a few months, then they never carry that same thing ever again. Nothing on the packaging is in English, all is made in Japan. There is an overabundance of juvenile cartoon-like figures and graphics on the packages. I am giving Daiso 4 stars becasue they are very very adament at telling each person, "All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds. Do you understand that?" read more

Centrally located in Chandler. It's my understanding there aren't too many Daiso stores in and around the Phoenix area so we are glad to have this store. They had the essential Daiso merch a decent prices so I was not disappointed. read more
