I love Daiso. I am so glad that they were brave enough to come to Arizona. I am Asian who also lives in San Diego, and frequent other heavily Asian populated cities such as Monterrey Park, CA. But as long as Daiso stays near (like almost next door) Asian anchors like 99 Ranch Market, I think they are safe. I appreciate Daiso for instance, in equipping my little Sunrader RV, 17 foot camper. Daiso has all kinds of clear plastic storage and organizer bins. I like clear. Other stores such as the dollar stores do not have clear with clear lids. Daiso also has peel and stick sheets for RV backsplashes, and stickers you can put in RV windows to make them like stained glass, or to pretty up plain white or black wastebaskets. I also purchased a couple of super light stainless steel cooking pots, so my little RV can get better gas mileage, everything light is here at Daiso. Minimalist light cutting boards, light plastic dishes, cooking utensils that no other place has, such as crab cracking and cutting scissors and knick knacks for Asian cooking.. It seems obviously that Angry Crab next door, purchased their crab cutting scissors here at Daiso, cos they are the same. I found a plastic box at Daiso, that fits perfectly between the seatbacks of drivers and passenger, for me to throw stuff in that box, like drinks, CDs, flashlights, calculator (to calculate my mpg), RV records notebook, sunglasses. I even bought my super light house slippers at Daiso. At one time, the San Diego Daiso had these lovely very real-looking silk orchids for $1.00. I bought many, put them in pots and gave them as gifts, and also decorated vacation rental homes with those. But like with other dollar stores, you only see merchandise for a few months, then they never carry that same thing ever again. Nothing on the packaging is in English, all is made in Japan. There is an overabundance of juvenile cartoon-like figures and graphics on the packages. I am giving Daiso 4 stars becasue they are very very adament at telling each person, "All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds. Do you understand that?" read more

Centrally located in Chandler. It's my understanding there aren't too many Daiso stores in and around the Phoenix area so we are glad to have this store. They had the essential Daiso merch a decent prices so I was not disappointed. read more

I went with a friend during the opening day but the line was sooooooooooo long you'd of had to been completely obsessed to wait in it. It was quite literally at least 1000 people long if not more. It was around 4 people wide and wrapped all the way around the back of the buildings plaza, we didn't stay. Today I was able to get back over and check it out. They have a lot of small cheaply made items. I have a secret adornment with gift wrapping and bags of those sorts so they had some stuff I'd definitely go back for. read more

Yay! This is the first Daiso in Arizona! Rumor has it that there will be 4-5 MORE Daiso stores planned to open in the Valley within the year! What is Daiso? It's a discount Japanese life concept store. Most things are $1.75 and up. Beauty, Asian snacks, office supplies, stationery goods, things to organize your home, toys, and so much more! Daiso is still Daiso to me, granted I've been spoiled rotten from Daiso in Little Tokyo, Woodland Hills, and Santa Ana in California, this location felt a little lackluster, given the excuse they did barely open up. Staff is friendly, they have some of my fav snacks, and it feels like Daiso on the inside but again the assortment of goods feels lack luster compared to California locations. I'm happy they opened in AZ so I can always resupply my SumikkoGurashi & Rilakkuma stationary. read more

When this place opened, it was a BIG DEAL. My dad even text me to tell me about it. A couple friends and I decided to go on a Wednesday morning a couple weeks after the grand opening. There was a small line to get in but nothing crazy. The doors opened, we grabbed a basket, and furiously started looking for things to buy. The store is bright, clean, and well organized, but reminded me of the 99 cents store. I grabbed a couple pens, ramen, washi tape, coin purse, bath mat, and a pencil case. I didn't NEED any of these things, but I was there and they were cute. The cashier was very nice and rang me up at around $30. I love Sanrio merchandise but there wasn't a ton of it. Most of the items can be purchased elsewhere for a similar price. It's possible the store was out of items because of the initial frenzy over its opening. I don't think I'll be rushing back to Daiso but I'm glad I got to see what the fuss was about for myself. read more

I don't understand what the big hype was we went there this past weekend and it was not all that. We had to wait in a long line to get in just to get in and not be able to move because there was so many people inside. Everything in there is cheaply made and way over priced you can find the same thing at Walmart or target for cheaper. They only had two registers and 3 self check out they don't have bags so bring a tote bag or you will be carrying everything you buy out in your hands. I think because it just opened that's why everyone wants to go and see what it is all about I honestly don't see it lasting long there is nothing different about this store than the many others we already have. read more

We are really excited to have a Daiso in Arizona!!! The Japanese dollar store is full of affordable and surprisingly decent quality items. There's a lot of popular licensed brands like Disney & Sanrio characters featured on decor, stationary, beauty products, home goods and more! The pricing break down to help you find the cost for each item is posted on signs around the store. The store is clean and well organized. The staff are usually put items away or making sure the store is stocked and tidy. It's a nice shopping experience, especially because there's A LOT of inventory so it could get messy quick. Things to know about check out. Theres racks and coolers full of a variety of Asian snacks just before you get in line for check out. We found lots of favorites and new stuff to try too. There's a large self checkout area so a lot of people can check out quickly. There is also one cashier that checks customers out as well. Keep in mind, You have to bring your own bag or you can purchase a paper bag. We decided to pick up a reusable bag since we'd have to pay for a paper one anyway- there's a rack of reusable bags close to check out so I recommend scanning getting one of those instead. We're keeping that reusable bag in our car so we'll have our own bag with us for our next trip :) read more

Not knowing what to expect, this store does have a lot of trinkets. There are some unique items and many small items used for the kitchen or stationary but as someone said, it did feel like a five below but with a Japanese theme. The store was still quite crowded and it was a lot of swerving and skipping aisles as there was no clear paths through them. There was no line to get in so that was a plus. A lot of the popular items seemed to have been gone but there were still lots to see and snacks and ramen to try. I did see some BT21 stuff there but not much. I grabbed the disinfectant wipes as I'm on the go at work and a BT21 travel size hand sanitizer. There is different aisles, houseware, kitchen items, stationary, desk items, some clothing and purses. It's definitely nice to visit and I will come back, perhaps when they are more restocked to really look at everything. If you are not into large crowds I recommend waiting a little more until the hype dies down a little. But I think it's a cool place to check out. read more

Crowded, and didn't give what I expected. I'm from California and we pretty much have Daiso's in a few different cities and this one was somewhat disappointing. There should have been limited amounts of people in the store I'm sure people would have stood in line for it but the amount of open mouth coughing made me leave and wait outside for my husband to finish paying for my items, I haven't been back since. read more

Daiso is so much fun to shop at. It really is as bright and airy as one would expect. I'm familiar with the California stores and I have to say the Arizona spot if just as great. I went on a Wednesday morning and the store wasn't crowded as it was at opening. I'll be returning because they were stocking some stuff that looked so cute, but I had to go. read more

It was so fun going here. I will say it was packed. But it was super clean and organized. Because it was so busy I did not get to look at the stationary stuff I wanted to. Okay deals on some stuff, which you can find cheaper at either the dollar store or Amazon. If you're looking for unique small trinkets that are Sanrio based- this is the place to be. The store is less spacious than other locations so some areas can be a bit tight to navigate around but still a good place to find unique gems. read more

Daiso has literally everything. I'm so glad we finally have one in Arizona now! I had to plan a trip in the past during visits to family in California. If you need toys for human or fur kids, house supplies, organization supplies, crafting supplies...literally everything can be found here! Even yay snacks and cool drinks in your way out.
