We had reservations and they greeted us outside like family . Our table was a nice booth and our server Salene greeted us right away . She gave us the menus and answered our questions and gave suggestions . We had looked at the menu before arriving so had a good idea what we wanted . I started with a cocktail ( a smoked Notorious Fig ) very good My husband was pleased with their beer selection . We ordered a appetizer (the goat cheese croquettes ) very good Our entrees were the Mahi and the Braised short ribs . We love to share . They both did not disappoint. The restaurant also helped to celebrate our anniversary with complimentary champagne and a decadent dessert ( the cookies and cream cheesecake ) worth every calorie Dustin the manager came by to see how things were going and also shared some of the history behind the restaurant. Love this extra touch . After dinner we went upstairs to have a drink at the bar . The atmosphere and ambiance of the place was amazing . You saw young and old some families . After getting a gift card, I went the same day to enjoy an early dinner. This was on a Saturday evening and our table for 2 was seated right away. This location is cute with an open floor plan, black and white photos, many tvs, and an open kitchen. I started the evening off with an espresso martini. For the bar only having about 3 people and the restaurant not full, I was surprised at how long it took to get the drink. It was a pretty good martini. Our server was very nice. Let's get to the food. For an appetizer, we started with the grilled cheese brisket sliders. The brisket wss juicy and I enjoyed the dipping sauce that was paired with it. For entrees we got the 6oz bistro steak and the classic tavern burger. The steak was cooked great and the sauce on top was delicious. The meal comes with veggies and potatos. I asked for the chickpea fries instead of the potatos. I was shocked to see the bill at the end that I was charged the full amount for a side item of chickpea fries. I get an upcharge for a more premium side but I did not get the potatoes that come with the meal to have the chickpea fries instead. Also the chickpea fries have a much mushy texture now than they used to in the past. The burger was decent with no complaints there. read more

This was my second time going to the Marlow's Tavern in Waterford Lakes. Lets start with the positive: The ambiance is like any bar/taver and the locale is nicely decorated with christmas decor to match the season. The service is honestly the only reason I would give this location a positive rating. Our waiter was nice and would refill our drinks without even asking. I also noticed that the executive chef would bring out the food somtimes to other tables and was very nice. The food unfortunately was a miss for me and expensive. A 6oz steak was 25$$ on their menu. I ordered the wings as an appetizer. They came out super fast but they were dry and lacking in sauce. I ordered the Classic burger. It was lacking in flavor as if it had no salt or seasoning on it and the fries were soggy and rubbery at the same time with no flavor. My parter had the chicken (fried) wrap and it was also soggy and lacking flavor. If you are looking for tavern food, just go to ale house around the corner or chickfila for a chicken wrap. Came here for a late lunch for the first time and loved this space! The restaurant was clean, parking was easy and our waiter was very informative in terms of helping me understand the menu for the first time. I went with his recommendation for the Cesar salad with my sandwhich and it was 10/10. Is absolutely recommend! read more

I want to start by saying that the service and the waitress were great. However, the food was just so mediocre. I did the black and blue burger, mainly because I wanted Gorgonzola cheese. They really did not put much on there, I could barely taste the cheese, which is saying something since Gorgonzola is a very strong cheese. Also, I asked for a medium rare burger, my partner, who asked for a medium burger, got a much closer, medium rare burger than I did. My partner did the Royale with cheese. He said that, while the actual meat itself was good, the bun and the cheese just made it feel cheap. In general whenever I eat out and I know I can make something better, I am immediately disappointed and this was very much so the case with Marlowe's tonight. read more

The new potatoes aren't as filling as the old option, and don't do much flavor wise. While visiting my parents in Orlando, they suggested we go to this place which is their favorite spot. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed with graduation parties. Somehow we got a table immediately and the host was so friendly, personable, and hospitable. We sat at a clean table and ordered. My parents had the tuna poke appetizer; the appetizer was visually appealing and quite tasty! Afterwards there was a bit of a wait for the entrees. Normally I'd be pretty annoyed by this but our server was proactive - addressed it- and explained the kitchen was backed up. Lunch arrived and my French Dip Sandwich was also very good. Before we wrapped up lunch, the server reminded my parents to use their app for " points" - which I also thought was a nice reminder. Marlo's is some sort of chain restaurant that I've never actually tried before but I do know there's other locations. I visited this location because it's walking distance from the 4DX movie theater. I find a Motion seats out of 4DX theater are much More impactful after a few drinks. I came in here and sat at the bar to get just tipsy enough at the move in seats felt like a lot more. The bartender was very friendly, poured up my drinks very quickly. And when I told her I was meeting somebody before the movie she pointed out I think your friend is here. What's my friend's got there manager had asked if any of us would ever been there before. Saying no I felt like we got some sort of royalty treatment and was overly spoiled. The sample that we received from the scratch kitchen was super delicious. I believe was homemade potato chips and some sort of Dip in sauce. It was so delicious that after the movie I came back for dinner. Staff with ultra friendly everybody that worked there was really kind and overly accommodating. The kitchen being a scratch kitchen most everything is so good and feels freshly made. I definitely recommend you stop into a Marlowe's next step I want to try one of these burgers they have. read more

I'm pretty sure I've reviewed Marlow's in the past. Some of my reviews tend to disappear for some reason... Anyway, the food here is pretty good and they have a variety and surely something for everyone in your party. I still remember I had one of the best burgers here about 9 years ago, and every time I've ordered a burger since, I've been disappointed but still hope for that burger I had on my very first trip here. Pricewise, they're all over the place. Their burgers cost about as much as a delicious seared Ahi Tuna salad. Some other meals are pretty reasonable, but some are way over priced. I'd say mostly the sandwiches and appetizers are the over priced items. I'm not too familiar with their specials, but maybe that's the secret here. They have inside and outside seating and both are nice. Service is usually great and food usually comes out quickly. They're pretty good about sending coupons and such if you sign up for their rewards, which is a plus. They do have some seasonal menus like Mardi Gras and other holidays. I haven't seen Stuffed Groundhog though. read more

I have always loved this place - actually one of our go to's when visiting our kids. But this trip was quite disappointing, to the point I don't think we will be back . First the good - the tall young man at the front is amazing! He was friendly and accommodating. He truly could have used some help- he was clearing tables, trying to greet everyone and trying to get people seated in a swift manner. Now the rest of our experience. We sat outside and our waitress was not quite up to par. She was friendly but let us sitting for long periods of time with no check in. We had to ask for things many times and then when she would finally bring something it would not be what we had asked for , so we would just give up. My husband got the Asian salad and added chicken- he said it was more wontons than lettuce and the chicken was ridiculously dry. My French dip, which had always been my favorite did not disappoint. My son enjoyed his burger. My other son got a tuna dish but couldn't really enjoy bc his soy never came. Hopefully the poor service was just a fluke but don't think I'll be convincing my family to return. read more

Im always sad when I cant give a great review. It wasn't busy and we were promptly seated. Server was friendly and did answer questions but took quite a time getting the answer when asked about the type of crab in the shrimp and crab nachos. We placed our orders and food arrived in a timely manner. Everything I had in my plate was way over salted. When it was brought to the servers attention that the deep fried mushrooms were way too over salty, his response was "they tend to season generously here, would you like a different sauce to counteract the saltiness?" If that hat is what servers are taught to say by this establishment, I would never go back. Actually I will not ever go back. The food was not worth it. The fact that we were not offered a new bowl of not so "generously seasoned mushrooms " and were expected to sic it up and deal with it did not impress me one bit. This girls night out was my first experience at Marlow's, and I really enjoyed it! It was a great place to stop in for some drinks and appetizers that were light but still flavorful! Our server was so kind and gave great drink recommendations. I ended up going with the blueberry buck which was so tasty! Don't go for mother's day. They sat us 15 minutes past our reservation. The waiter was already frazzled when we say down. They put the 11 of us at 2 round tables in the center isle which made it super uncomfortable for the 2 where the tables meet and with the ones that were sticking out in the path were worried they were going to get food dropped on them. Leaving off a star because we came here for happy hour and was never presented or told about the happy hour menu what-so-ever. We had to ask several times "what's on happy hour for drinks" and then again "what's on happy hour for food". Just made us feel some type of way when it was 4 PM on a Tuesday. Anyways, $5 Chardonnay was delicious, the happy hour menu kettle chips and flat bread was also super tasty. We ordered a shrimp and crab salad off the menu so the server wasn't too disappointed with us LOL but that was a delicious choice as well. Marlow's Tavern combines modern aesthetics with a warm, neighborhood atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for brunch, lunch, or dinner. I'm a huge fan of their bottomless mimosas for brunch. They are very attentive with their service, definitely worth the cost. Last time I went, I tried the Very Veggie burger and it was so good. The food here is genuinely great! Everything I've tried has been delicious, and the burgers in particular are amazing. However, the service at the front of the restaurant is consistently frustrating. Every time I've come here, there's been a long wait just to be seated--not because the restaurant is packed, but because no one acknowledges you. One time, I came alone mid afternoon, and there were plenty of open tables. Despite that, I stood at the entrance for about 10-15 minutes without a single staff member greeting me or even saying they'd be right with me. I eventually had to walk to the bar and ask someone to find a host, and only then did someone come over to seat me. This happens every single time. No matter the time of day or how busy they are. I completely understand waiting when a place is busy, but what's frustrating is the lack of communication or acknowledgment. Even a quick "we'll be right with you" would make a big difference. It's disappointing because the food and pricing are so good, but the experience of just getting seated makes me hesitate to come back. read more

Started at the door with a child that was not friendly and tall guy who pretended to know what he was doing but didn't. Waited 30 minutes for a table (not bad for Friday night) but when we "get sat" the child at the front door literally point and said "over there" with no effort to show us to our table. Ended up going with the Shrimp & Crab "Nacho" Plate, Royale with Cheese Burger, and Truffle Parmesan Fries. The Shrimp & Crab "Nacho" Plate was delightful and DIFFERENT! The dish arrived sliced into mini "pizza-like" pieces, each one topped with a melty mix of pepper jack cheese, shrimp, crab, and sliced jalapeños. The flavor profile of this dish was unreal- with the cheese adding a smooth, mellow flavor that complemented the seafood and the heat from the jalapeños. While this dish is definitely seafood-forward, it is perfectly balanced with the other textures and flavors brought together on the plate. The Royale with Cheese Burger was FANTASTIC! I can easily say that was one of the best burgers I've had in my life.The Wagyu beef was cooked to perfection- a beautiful medium-rare with a slightly pink center and rich, juicy flavor. The American cheese melted seamlessly into the patty, the pickles added a satisfying crunch and tanginess to the palate that balanced the richness of the meat. The burger was brought together by a soft brioche bun that finished off each bite with just the right touch of sweetness and delicacy. Eating that burger was like tasting heaven in my mouth. I'm dreaming about it as I write this right now. Each time I've dined at Marlow's, the level of service has been nothing shy of incredible. Had a craving for some shrimp and grits and remembered that a few years prior I had a great shrimp dish at Marlow's Tavern, decided to try it again to see if it was as good as I remembered and...I was not disappointed! The shrimp and grit cake was wayyy better than I remembered. As you can see I started enjoying it and could barely stop before I remembered I needed a picture. I got the rum punch as a drink and it was very delicious. Our waitress was very attentive and gave us great service. Not being a fan of new American/gastropub cuisine (probably because it is the most common dining option in the US, and, man, do I like novelty), I had low expectations for Marlow's Tavern. Plot twist: I left the place pleasantly surprised with the quality of their food and service. Hence the 5 stars. Service: We were a group of 13 people attending a business dinner. The restaurant was able to seat us before the reservation time, as if no change had been made to the original reservation. Our waiter (I wish I had written down his name to add to my review) was extremely friendly, polite, and efficient. Kudos to him! Food: - Appetizers: We had two types of flatbread and a hummus plate with pine nuts and cauliflower. All of them were served at the right temperature and seasoned very well. No complaints. - Entree: I ended up going with the Grilled Atlantic Salmon (Jumbo Pearl Cous Cous, Tuscan Kale, Grapes, Toasted Almonds, Red Wine Reduction). Everything (seriously, every single ingredient in the dish) was cooked to perfection. The only slightly negative point was the grape addition. I didn't and still don't understand how grapes fit in this dish, but I was not that displeased with the experience - maybe the idea behind it is adding a different texture, as grapes give us that gentle pop as the skin breaks, followed by their juiciness. I truly don't see how its sweetness compliments the dish though. Ambiance: Just the typical gastropub restaurant: a neutral color palette and comfortable seating. Enjoying holiday lunch with my granddaughter! When we lived in Georgia we considered Marlowe's our neighborhood bar and grill, celebrated there, met friends there, worked out problems... I was so excited when my granddaughter, who lives close to this Marlow's took me there for lunch! Well, the server was excellent! Knowledgeable, helpful, attentive... but, although the menu was familiar, the quality of my lunch was not! We started, immediately, ordering asparagus fries, which were an absolutely a favorite in the past. These were tough and stringy. We also ordered the homemade chips with cheese and tomatoes, they were delicious! Granddaughter had a black and blue burger and fries, she loved it. I had the fish nachos, had to upgrade to tilapia, as the standard fish was pre blacked and I didn't want blackened. It was so spicy I could hardly eat it. So somewhat disappointed. I liked the dim lighting and the ambiance inside. The music wasn't too loud and other peoples voices weren't too loud. The Cuban spring rolls were very greasy but very good! The outside was maybe a little too flaky but it was very flavorful if you're down to get a little greasy. The bacon jam wasn't the texture I was expecting but the burger was definitely good. The bacon jam was all one consistency and not very chunky. I really liked the fries as well, they were nice and crispy. Our waiter was friendly and good but he just seemed really busy. I wanted him to come a little sooner since I was just missing my dipping sauce but every time I looked at him he was at a different table, so I'm not sure if it's just potential understaffing or an unusually busy night.
