There were some drips of paint on the outside label so I thought I would see if that was enough for a color match. I didn't want to take a square off the wall itself, if I could avoid it. I went to Benjamin Moore first because that was the brand. I was told they take 24 hours to color match and I probably didn't have enough of a sample on the can's label. Perfectly pleasant sales associate, but I didn't want to wait a day. I decided to go to my local Lafayette Kelly Moore. I've got to tell you that the manager, Renee, was so nice! I asked her how long a color match would take and she said since there were a couple of jobs ahead of me, it would be 2 hours. Not bad! I showed her my sorry can of paint and she confirmed that it wasn't enough of a sample to color match. I told her I was just going to pick a match from their sample wall. Before I could take a step, Renee volunteered to take a scan for me and see if she came up with anything. In just a minute she had a computer suggested match. I was so glad! I was walking out of the store within 10 minutes with a fresh gallon of Kelly Moore and it looked perfect on my wall. I really appreciated Renee's knowledge and patience. She was very proactive in assisting me for just one little can of paint.

It is well worth it! Now for the loss of a star. When I went back to get the paint to finish I did what I believe to be the intelligent thing to do and had him look at my account so I could double check I was purchasing the exact same everything. It was the other half of my house, after all, I need it to be the same. He did. But as I was leaving and he was putting paint in the truck, this kid said to me "sometimes you just have to make a decision". WTF! I am guessing this guy has never spent his own money on painting his house. 1500$ in paint and this guy thinks I should 'wing it'? I left it alone at the moment because I had nothing kind to say. My receipt says his name was Angel. We will continue to buy Sherman Williams paint, and I will continue to expect them to check my past purchases. There is another location not far away.
