I LOVE this place and make a pilgrimage there whenever I am in the Pacific Northwest. While everything is of good quality, I am particularly addicted to their Seventh Wonder mix. I use it as a coating for baked chicken -- just add salt and mix with a bit of panko and voila, the most awesome chicken you've ever had! And they will ship for a reasonable fee, so don't think you have to go there to shop. Great staff, very helpful and pleasant, too. read more

Been looking for a spice and finally found it at Market Spice! The staff was so helpful and service was prompt, even for a Saturday! the price is beyond reasonable. I was crunched for time, but next time i will definitely check out all the amazing other spices and teas they have in the store. read more

Amazing! I could spend hours staring at all of the different teas and spices they sell. Everything is well priced and the employees are so knowledgable and kind. Highly recommend coming here if you're in town visiting or just need some high quality spices! read more

I have loved this store for years. They have the best Earl Gray cream tea ever. Whether you go in person or order on line (which I do as I live 3 hours away). The customer service and mailing the order are excellent. I would recommend a stop in here, not just for the tea for the spices. You won't be disappointed. read more

Really wanted to check these guys out due to the positive reviews...but the shop closed up by noon today

Wonderful place! The service and selection cannot be beat. Been coming here for a year or so, and I look forward to each time I return. A little small, but whatever...it's Pike Place. Thank you to the lovely girl (Katie?) behind the counter for your help yesterday! read more

My only complaint about Market Spice is that I didn't get to spend enough time there!! Wonderful!! The orange spice tea is a must-have. I brought home two boxes and am kicking myself for not buying more. This tea is sweet and pungent without adding sweeteners of any kind--just tea and essential oils of orange, cinnamon, and cloves. The essential oils give this tea an aroma like no other. It drifts into your nasal passageways in the most delightful way. One sniff and taste was all it took for me to have the revelation that this is what REAL tea is supposed to taste and smell like. Be careful not to steep it very long for kids, though--mine thought it was a bit too strong when I made it for them last night, even though I thought it was perfect. read more

This is a neat place. Amazing house tea, the aroma of which drew me in as they had some steeped and ready for sampling in the store. Bought a box and can't wait to try it in oatmeal as the recipe hanging up nearby suggested. My fiancé loves coffee and the girl working helped him pick out some to grind and take home. read more

MarketSpice - Amazing tea - can't wait to try this recipe. - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Seattle, Washington

AJ is the man! Took his time and was very patient and passionate explaining all! Can't wait to come back!

Great little corner of Pike's Place Market. They have a wide assortment of spices, and teas, as well as tea related gifts for others -or yourself! It's a nice place to stop in and warm up. They always give us a free sample of their famously amazing cinnamon orange tea. Friendly and helpful staff. read more

Staff is awesome! Super friendly and patient and very knowledgeable about spices and teas. I'm going back for more tomorrow lol.

This is an amazing place to find every single tea and spice imaginable. I came here to find a nice green tea for my mom but was stumped when I saw a wall filled with teas!! They have teas for everything with any fruit and any flower. I ended up getting the Earl Green which was a mix of Earl Grey, Green Tea, and dry orange peel. It is SOO good. Really soothing. The orange adds a really nice touch. It's quite affordable here. I bought a bag of tea for about $10. We have been using the tea for almost year and are not even half way yet. Love this place and their teas!! read more

This little store is great. It is in pikes market tucked away in a corner and it is behind where the guys are throwing fish. I went in looking for some spices and it wasn't too crowded so the employees were giving me recommendations on what to try and buy. I ended up getting some Za'taar, Berbere and truffle salt. All the prices seemed reasonable usually a couple dollars for an hour depending on spice you were buying and the customer service here is on spot. I wish I had this little gem back home so I could get hard to find spices. read more

I was amazed at how many spices and teas this place had, if it isn't here I don't think it exists.

Great loose leaf teas for affordable prices and doesn't compromise taste! Definitely will be back!

Another one of Rei S's recommendations for our Seattle trip was stopping by Market Spice during our inevitable visit to Pike Place. I thought it would be difficult to find among all of the countless vendors and shops in the atrium, but you can really smell this store a mile away. The teas and spices, all in big glass jars on floor-to-ceiling shelves, are incredibly fragrant! They had everything from ordinary basil to special spice rubs and teas from the world over. I purchased 1 oz of a beautiful bright green matcha for $4.99 and a prepackaged bag of catnip as a souvenir for our little one. Great prices, great selection (although they didn't have chrysanthemum tea - M's fav), and the olfactory stimulation -- I'll definitely be back! read more

Excellent service and assortment of spices. I have only been in spice shops where you can peruse everything yourself, but this was much more of an experience where you can engage over and be educated about various spice blends, and even get to taste them before buying. read more

Fun orange spice tea - and you're able to sample it in the store! I brought back a ton of sample packs for my friends after one of my many Seattle visits and it seemed to go over really well! Also a cool place to get your herbs & spices! read more

I personally really like this place! I drink green tea everyday during work, so finding some good teas to drink in the cold and foggy morning brightens up my day! I love how the store has some samples of tea! I bought some green tea ones to try, however, the tea I sampled at the store was very tasty too! With a hint of cinnamon, the sample tea reminded me of Christmas. I love the tea here! It makes me warm and happy inside! Great place for people that like warm drinks! =] read more

Unlike most people in the greater Seattle area (and beyond, evidently) I do not care for Market Spice Tea. However, I do care for fresh herb de provence, the fragrance of far-off places as I head to Maximilien, and looking at huge jars of sparkling colored sugar. Perhaps Market Spice is one of the places that adults are allowed to take a scoop and dig into a jar full of something extravagant, tasty, and just for their tastes. read more

Market Spice has a great selection of bulk herbs, spices, spice mixes, and teas. I've never been a big fan of their signature tea, it's just too much cinnamon for me. I do love their Double Bergamot Earl Grey! Very potent stuff. I worked at a cafe that served their teas for quite some time, so got to taste all of the teas we carried. My favorite thing to do with the tea was brew half a picture of really strong jasmine tea, fill the rest up with ice, then serve it with apple juice in a ratio about 2:1. A lot of the stuff you can find here you can find elsewhere for less, but it's still fun to visit this bustling shop. read more

The aroma in this place is sick (in a good way). I think it was the tea brewing up front. Anyhoo, at the suggestion of the friendly counter guy, picked up a blend called Healthy Heart, for those of us who have to watch the sodium, and I must say, "My heart is feeling a bit healthier and happier" !! Thanks World Spice !! read more

I honestly can't find a better tea in the country! Yes the country! I love their selection and their combinations. And unlike big chain tea stores, this one uses Sencha green tea as their base for their combinations which is a lot better than the generic base you find in other places. Ask anyone for help in finding a new flavor for you and you will be surprised at what they have that you may not have thought about. Plus their prices can not be beat. read more

I remember walking to the market in the rain on my way home and buying a bunch of ingredients for dinner that night. My last stop was typically Market Spice. I'm not in any way a food connoisseur but shopping for exotic spices makes you feel like one. After making it to my bus I'd occasionally sniff my latest score of Spanish paprika, saffron, fresh peppercorns, or loose leaf tea and know that tonight's dinner was going to be great. read more

Physically have not been in, but I always get their spices! They're amazing. I use them all the time on my chicken and steak. My favorites are the Greek seasoning, steak seasoning and Harissa seasoning. I wish I was there to come check out the store! You gotta try it! Prices are pretty good! For about the same price for a little jar of seasoning at the store you get 2-3 times as much here! Owner is super nice! read more

Excellent tea and spices. I love their signature cinnamon and orange tea. They also have a whole wall of loose leaf teas they blend themselves. read more

They have some amazing spices, and tea here. They also have some sampler packs that you can purchase if you just want a little bit. You can probably get any kind of spice mixture at the store. It is pretty busy but they try to help everyone in a timely fashion. Must stop spot for spices whenever you travel. read more

Tea and Spice heaven at Pike Place Market. I love the cinnamon-orange spice tea. I picked up some mulling spice, used it this weekend and it made the hot apple cider taste so good! Great place to pick up some unique gifts. read more

I need a place like this to exist in Houston. I've never been able to find real strawberry or raspberry extracts, and Market Spice has them all! Of course, I bought several things that could have alerted TSA to my suitcase, but they shockingly did not inspect the ounces of catnip that looked like pot. Win. Cat win. I also picked up a tea sampler for my office, and we've really enjoyed the raspberry tea. No sugar or cream required. I can't wait to taste the other flavors. read more

One of my favorite places in the market, and a place I generally love to go several times a year to stock up on tea and spices. Recently, however, we were treated very poorly by two women working behind the counter. I contacted management and was assured that the issue would be addressed with the staff. I hope this will improve service, as this shop reflects on the way people feel about the market and this historic Seattle experience. Love Market Spice products! read more

This is my wife's favorite place. We have to come here monthly just for new spices. I don't mind because I get to try done of their signature tea! read more

Lived in Seattle for 8 years. Visited Market Spice frequently to have blends made sans garlic, which I can't consume. Went into today and the staff refused to make me a blend without garlic; "we're now only selling pre-packaged blends". The store was pretty empty and it wouldn't have stretched the staff to take care of my request. But no, this is a new policy from the store owner. Well, my new customer policy is that I won't shop at a store that puts itself ahead of customers. I even offered to pay to have the blends made for me. Nope. Not happening. read more

One of my favorite stores in Seattle. Anytime I'm near The Market I stop in to buy a little bag of spices, they have all kinds of stuff that I've never tried. My go to here is red Rooibos tea, I've been drinking it like a fiend this summer. Their selection of both spices and teas is exemplary and the staff has always been super helpful to me. My only downside is that it's in Pike's Place Market and that place drives me bonkers in the summertime. read more

Who knew Market Spice could turn a non-tea drinker? We stopped in here on my friend's birthday and he tried the tea. This guy is 100% meat and potatoes, Harley riding, blue collar kind of rough around the edges and he tells me (the English accent must have only been in my head) I just love this tea! I was like, who are you? So I bought him some tea to take home. That fool has already finished the box in less than one month. Dang, that's how good Market Spice is. If you like spiced, orange tea, this is your place. Even manly men drink it. read more

Wow. This place is awesome. Spices+teas+plenty of gift possibilities = a tea/spice connoisseur's paradise!

What a cool place! They have a whole wall of spices and another whole wall of teas that you can buy by the ounce. I like trying things out without committing to a whole pound or a whole box, so I like this place a lot. They do sell teacups and pots, bagged and boxed tea, and other paraphenalia. They have a special tea which has a sort of overwhelming taste, but it's good for dessert or the holidays. read more

This one is a very easy 5 stars: 1) They have tons of teas and spices from all over the world, 2) you can actually open every single jar and smell each one before you decide whether you want to buy! 3) They will sell you as little as a 1/2 oz to an oz of most things, unlike other places which have a 2 oz minimum, 4) staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Excited about this find and will definitely be back! read more

I love this place! I went in looking for Yerba Matte; I went on a coffee hiatus and heard it was a good replacement but had no idea where to start. I asked an employee about it and she laid out all of my options and told me a little bit about each. I left with a huge bag for very little money. I haven't been back lately (quitting coffee whilst working in a coffee shop isn't the easiest thing in the world) but when I do, I'm excited to look through the walls and walls of tea options. Therreee're soo maaannnyyy. read more
