this is easily the best tea supply place ever! I've gotten so many different types of tea & they have such a variety that I am always trying teas that I never have before! The people that work here are always friendly & informative. The prices are decent &, although it can be a hassle to get through the crowds in pike place to get to marketspice, I highly recommend any tea lovers to give it a go! read more

This is an amazing spice store with a huge collection of stuff. Very fresh and well taken care of. I love the smell when you walk in the door. Just makes you want to cook something or make some tea. read more

Great place for fresh spices. Way better than any grocery store. Tea and other stuff too. Worth checking out if your in the area.

Very helpful we had a great time. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. My friend from out of town felt very comfortable. Thank you for being so awesome! read more

Wall of tea. Wall of spices. Straight up. Blends. Oh my, what a dreamy place for the chef, tea lover, or just all around culinary afficionado. This place is way serious about their business. Organic, multicultural, and no additives. Of course, they've got some trinkets like spice containers or tea strainers. But, really, their main focus is its tea and spices. They've got a specialty cinnamon orange tea which was interesting. Think I'm less the fruity type on most days. For the money, it's worth considering mail order - they ship anywhere - compared to some specialty tea and spice shops. Yummmmm. Try the Greek Seasoning, Blackened Redfish Seasoning, Oolong.... Chai.. and ok, stopping there for now. Oh, they have "with salt" and "salt-free" options and if you ask the expert staff "can you recommend a good garlic blend to eat with...?".. they won't give you the eyebrow as if you just wasted their time. They are happy to give you a few options to consider! Now, that's what I'm talkin about! read more

Market spice is the most amazing place I have come across that specializes in bulk spices and tea. Pretty similar to a middle eastern bazaar, there's not really a line, you just have to patiently wait and demand what you want. Very busy on the weekend with tourists and locals both crammed into this hole of a store just slightly south of the fish throwing. read more

Wow, these guys have 3 different varieties of every spice I've ever heard of. I wish I had taken my list of needs on our trip. I will next time. When you go to Seattle, make sure to check your spices before you go.... I'm sure you'll find it here. read more

This is so the place to go for the weird and wonderful world of spice. They even have ammonia for baking. They also have to best chai blends in the universe - enough so that my mother-in-law makes a pilgrimage there when she is here from Alaska just to get her chai fix. read more

I picked up some jasmine tea here after trying it for the first time at a sushi place in Cap Hill. Man it was good! Sales staff were very nice too. This would be a great place to pick up some gifts and they have a large selection of tea sets; I don't know if they carry Japanese-style, but I remember the English porcelain kind. Free samples too. read more

We bought a bag full of spices to take home with us from here. They have such a great variety of spices! We bought things as varied as szechuan peppercorns and smoked salt from here. All wonderfully aromatic! read more

Not a bad place. They love to really push their Market Spice tea, which is cinnamon-orange black tea. I personally hate the taste but my husband loves it. They have teas and spices in jars and I'm not sure how fresh that keeps the tea.. I like getting cheaper kinds of teas here like their Japanese green and jasmine teas. I stocked up on pu'erh and I don't think it's the best quality. It tastes funny and gives a murky brew. It's good if blended with Seattle Surprise black tea [pineapple and orange bits in black tea] though. It's better for spices, rooibos teas, and merchandise. They have Beehouse and cast-iron pots for much cheaper than Teavana and you can order online. read more

Really great selection of unique spices and teas you cannot find anywhere else. I always stop in, even when I'm not taking out of town friends to the market. Service is friendly, too. read more

Wish we had a place like this near home. Very tasty, very inventive spice and tea blends. The alder-smoked salt is extremely pungent, though, beware taking it home without extra wrapping. read more

If I had time and money I would buy everything here. It's a wonderful store with everything and more than you need. The staff, after startling me, was super friendly and knowledgeable about the products. They're so much more than tea and spices they give you ideas of what you can do and enjoy at home. read more

Their tea are good. But my favorite is their salt. I was there because of the Seattle savor tour. We got a bite of the salt, I don't remember the exact name, but it's made some bark as ingredient, hence it tastes like some smoked stuff. We believe if bake meat with it, it must taste goood. Hmm maybe I shall search it out and ord some online, read more

This is a great little Tea/Spice shop in Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle WA. We always stock up on tea from Market Spice to bring back to the east coast when we are in the Seattle Area. I really enjoy the Northwest Breakfast Tea that they make, it's unlike any breakfast tea I have had before.. Its delicious. They are famous for there Spiced tea which is also really good and packed with flavor. Stop in you'll be happy you did. read more

I visited here during a recent trip to Seattle. I had never been to MarketSpice before. It houses a wide variety of spices and tea. I bought a Moroccan spice mix, various types of tea, and a robot-shaped tea ball. It is really too bad I had a full day planned or I would have spent a good portion of the day there. My family loves cooking and we love tea. One day we will come back to buy some cardamom seed pods so we can make homemade chai. read more

Market Spice is one of my favorite shops in the market. I avoid buying spices in grocery stores because Market Spice is not only far less expensive but the quality of the spices are much higher. Also, the selection is extensive. The customer service is great. They are very knowledgeable about what they sell and will make suggestions. Highly recommended! read more

Cinnamon orange tea is their flagship item. Hints of clove as well as the named ingredients, top it off well. It is shockingly sweet considering there is no sugar added. read more

Whenever I'm in Seattle (which happens to be quite frequent now), there are a handful of places I have to go to and Market Spice is one of them. I've tried a variety of their teas but the orange cinnamon is still hands down the favorite. It's always a request from friends at home to bring some back. Yes, we can always but it online but nothing beats coming to the actual shop and bringing it home straight from Seattle. read more

I like to buy loose leaf tea here. They have a good selection and sell it by the pound. They've also been helpful when I've asked about specific herbal blends that they don't carry and they offered suggestions on blending my own and alternatives that they do carry. I have not purchased herbs or spices here, but I always admire their selection, and if I ever can remember exactly what I need when I'm there, I would like to buy them there. They also have a good selection of tea accessories. read more

The 5 stars is for their addictive original, the Market Spice Tea!! The store itself has lots of different loose teas to choose from, but I haven't moved past the Market Spice Tea yet! Add a tablespoon of honey, and it's the best wake-you-up tea around! Just the smell itself is an aphrodisiac! If you're not in the area, go to their website and buy it! read more

Market Spice is the Seattle House of Atreides. You will never buy spices in a grocery store again. Not only are they high quality but inexpensive. On the downside, most of us in the city do not have nearly enough cabinet space for the mass amounts of spices you'll eventually collect from this store. read more

The smell is intoxicating as you enter this shop. It's a little crowded as it's right in the market, but the tea's are wonderful and I love how you can see each spice they sell. read more

I looooooove thiiiiis plaaaaace. I go through spices like a crackhead goes through lighters so I end up in here quite often. The employees at Market Spice are always courteous, fast at measuring out my spices, and can usually make good recommendations for spices to use, which curry is best, etc. All the spices are sold in bulk (except for a handful of pre-packaged spices and blends) so they are always fresh and you can buy as much or as little as you like, with a minimum amount (either a half ounce or one ounce each, I believe). They also have great bulk and packaged teas, none of which I have ever disliked. The store is a little small which makes me terrified of breaking their array of spice jars and tea cups while avoiding throngs of slackjawed tourists, but that kind of adds to the cutesy charm of the shop. read more

This place is amazing! It's got a large selection of teas, herbs, and spices. Whenever I go to Pike Place Market, I always make a point of coming here to at least soak in the wonderful smells that emanate from this place. The staff here is very knowledgeable, and I have fun geeking out about food with them, which you can't do everywhere. read more

I used to order their original market spice tea on amazon but realized the in-store prices is much lower! They have incredible tea selections to choose from--for gifts, souvenirs, tea parties, and your own pleasure! I also tried their orange cinnamon but still like their original market spice the best! read more

I absolutely adore this shop. This is my go to shop for gifts and loot for myself. I come here to refill my tea jars 1 oz at a time every few months. I usually don't get spices, but have been wanting to try a couple. It's small and crowded, but the Market is always like this. I have always had a great experience here with nice helpful staff. This place is a must see! read more

I love shops like this! The back wall is filled with dozens of jars of coffees and teas. Grab your jar and buy loose tea by the ounce. Everything else you need to make tea is available from mugs to strainer balls to various tea novelties. I bought some of the Market Spice tea based off the reviews here. I'm a big tea fan, I wish we had a place like this in Austin. read more

Well this place does have quite a wall of teas. I'm drinking their english breakfast now and it's very nice--not boring, nothing all that unusual though, but a good solid breakfast tea. I'm not that excited about the Irish breakfast I bought--basically this place strikes me as a good place to get some solid teas, especially if you aren't finding what you are looking for elsewhere. We did buy some rooibos there that I haven't tried yet. Unfortunately, though, I can't rave about it. read more

Very helpful and friendly girls; lots of basic teas with some interesting varietal blends. Also has coffee and other tea/coffee related items: mugs, coffee/tea press, etc. Also a great selection of spices and some tourist fare. read more

I LOVE Market Spice! I make a special trip here every time I visit Seattle. Not only do they have a great selection of spices, they also make the best tea in the world (a.k.a Market Spice Tea). My only complaint is that I wish they offered cheaper shipping for Canadian customers. If they did, I would order from them all the time. read more

Their Cinnamon-Orange tea tastes like Red Hot candies in liquid form. Awesome.

BEST Ti Kuan Yin Baked Oolong ever! I'm a pretty big fan of tea so I've been going to several tea places but this place has the best ti kuan yin ever. it's not cheap but it's worth it! they sometimes have tea tasting, depends on when you go! i love this place! =) read more

I love this shop! And when I say I love it, I mean I dream of the moment I'll return to Seattle from California just so that I can come here and browse the incredible assortment of tea and spices, and of course replenish my supply of Market Spice tea. I love it, I love it! read more

Love the selection of teas, and most of the loose leaf was great, a few was questionable as it seem to have a lot of artificial ingredients. The space is small and cramp and there were lots of people in there. Hopefully during my next visit I will be able to see the rest of it. read more

Absolutely fantastic staff. Very helpful navigating the endless inventory of coffee, tea and spices. Will visit again whenever I am in Seattle. read more

This is my go-to spot for tea and spices. It can get crowded during peak hours, so I try to head there early in the day to avoid the rush. I tend to buy the bulk teas, as they are a great value. I've enjoyed the Lemon Up, Earl Gray, and Northwest Breakfast, and my current favorite is the Yunnan. I've also purchased several of their herbal and green teas, which smell great, but I haven't had a chance to try yet. As far as spices go, I've found everything I've bought to be of good quality, but my favorite is the Salmon Rub. It is smoky and sweet with the flavor of dill - while I might usually try to construct such a blend on my own, I just can't beat what they've got. read more

I could spend forever perusing all the different teas and coffees they have... Love the labels on all the jars... Very creative and original. Definitely a place I must stop at every time I'm in Seattle!! read more

This place is AMAZING! I usually come to Washington to visit family every year and this year was the first time I was sent on a mission to find "good" coffee and not Starbucks coffee for a co-worker. I asked all kinds of shop owners where I could find good fresh coffee different from what's already prepacked. And by accident I came into this place. It was the best accidental find! The first time I came I bought their Golden Pecan roast and their Chocolate Macadamia Nut roast... can you say WOW!! The aroma of their coffees was delicious all on it's own!! I bought a couple of bags for my co-worker, and when I got home I immediately regretted not buying myself a couple of bags. When I came back again I made it mandatory for myself to stop by and buy more but this time for myself. I came in and bought the same 2 coffees I previously purchased and they had a special going on... when you spend $20 you get a free bag of coffee... I got my free bag of Chocolate Amaretto coffee. Every year that I come to Washington, I will be making my stop over to this wonderful place. Their prices are reasonable for the product that they have and the staff are great! read more
