5/28/2025: lobster Mac and cheese
Valerie R.

We went to lunch on Marker 37 for my husband's birthday. It wasn't a perfectly sunny day, but it was warm and a really nice day to be outside. The patio ar Marker 37 is covered, and has a nice view of the river, and the boats coming in and out of the marinas. The food was great, but our service was very slow!! My husband asked for "2 more minutes" to review the menu to order, and our server didn't come back for probably 25 minutes. It was busy, but not that busy. She was checking in on her other tables and then walking away without coming over or making eye contact with us. It was so bad that we almost went back to the hostess to ask to move to a different server's section! But, she ultimately figured it out. The side salad portions were sizeable for $8. I got the Mediterranean summer salad, which was great and loaded with yummy toppings like hummus, artichokes, tabbouleh, feta, and Kalamata olives. My husband got a Caesar salad and was happy with it as well. My tuna tacos were tasty, two was a sufficient portion especially with the tortilla chips on the side. My husband's lobster Mac and cheese was large, the Mac and cheese was creamy and good, and a decent amount of lobster. I'm glad, since I later found out MP was $42 lol. It was worth it for what he got. We were going out again later, so didn't have dessert. We will definitely go back again to try more of their dishes. Definitely call to make a reservation as it was pretty busy even on a cloudy Wednesday at lunch. Once the nicer weather is here, I'm sure it will be packed every day.

Mixed feelings... I was so incredibly excited to try this place that had been on my list for a year. I was seated on the patio with INCREDIBLE views all around me at 6:15. And then waited...20 minutes.... Nobody had greeted me at my table so I got up and went to the hostess stand (which I feel is absurd but whatever) and kindly said I wanted to check in with her because nobody has stopped by our table and it's been 20 minutes. She said she'd take care of it so I went back to my seat. Shortly after someone stopped by and we said we'd like to start with water and the calamari for now. Calamari came out like 10 minutes later. Still no water on the table as I'm eating fried hot peppers with my calamari app. At this point I want to order a cocktail and food and our waitress is nowhere to be found. Finally around 7 (45 minutes after arrival) our waitress came back and asked if we wanted to order. I asked if there was a backup in the kitchen or what was going on because we still hadn't gotten even water at this point. I was told things were backed up and everyone had come at once. We didn't feel confident we'd get drinks or food anytime soon so I politely said we understand but I think we're going to grab the check. After another 15 minutes of waiting for the check (which never came) and she never came back, we left cash under a plate at 7:15 (an hour after we arrived) and walked out. I have never in 30 years just had to walk out of. a place. Luckily there's a whole downtown of restaurants that will serve you quickly in Chester. In summary I'd say views are spectacular, calamari was good. If they could get it together this would be a top tier, unmissable restaurant in CT.

TLDR; Beautiful location, great service, great cocktails, decent food. It was a nice day so we took a drive to find somewhere nice to grab a drink and some food. My friends and I had never heard of this spot but it checked the boxes for what we were looking for. They have a large outdoor seating area including some couch areas. Apparently these are a separate service from the regular tables. Because there were only two servers for the entire restaurant they said could not provide service for the area but we were welcome to sit there and order at the bar - so that's what we did. The house old fashioned is delicious! It has a nice oaky flavor and lasting cherry sweetness ( not too sweet! ). The bourbon smash was good too but the OF was better imo. We ordered calamari to snack on because we decided to go elsewhere for dinner. It was fine. Small portion, a little chewy and it seemed like it is not made fresh there. Ended up hanging at the bar and even tho the bartender (Alex) was swamped he still carried conversation with us, shared some laughs and made us feel welcome. Overall we had a great time. I can definitely see us coming back here to grab some drinks enjoy the views.

e was an adorable waitress and the fish and chips were literally the best my husband has ever had. It was a whole fish, very fresh and fried in a very tasty crust. You can't beat the outdoor patio with the view of the water and gentle breeze.Unfortunately the pork taco proved inedible . Besides being very fatty, the meat seemed to be sprouting hair! It was disgusting. The restaurant still gets 4 stars as they took the $18.00 off the bill and apologized profusely. I encourage people to come to this spot, but don't order the pork taco!

Best chowda I've ever had!

Are you sure?! Lobster time! Service was great. Food was delish. Good draft selection. Nice outside view of the (bay?) Lobster mac and cheese had alot of lobster chunks! Lobster roll also delish but a little on the small side. Fries were nothing special. Had a local draft in draft which was awesome! Ordered heinis bc the boys did and this trip is all about them. Glad we were able to sit out although it was t jungkook and jimins table

Staff was friendly, but unfortunately the food was very disappointing. The first time I went, I had a burger, and it was incredibly greasy. Husband had the lobster Mac and Cheese and said it was watery and not good. That was a while ago, so we tried to give it another chance last night and was disappointed again. The chicken sandwich I had was horrible. The sauce that was on it tasted like mustard and was terrible. I pretty much just ate part of the chicken alone, which had no flavor, and definitely nothing special. Family didn't like the pork belly tacos either. Lobster roll was good, and French fries were good. Probably won't be back.

I love this location. It's just so scenic and relaxing surrounded by water. The marinas are quiet now, with just an occasional boat puttering in. We were there on a warm autumn night with a full moon rising. It doesn't get any better than this for ambiance. Service both times I came, was excellent . So far Marker 37 hits the mark. My only suggestion for improvement would be to add some tasty vegetarian items to the menu. We ordered every vegetarian item on the menu. I ended up flavoring the pasta dish myself. We enjoyed our evening and will return.

Great patio overlooking the Connecticut River.

Great view, great service and excellent food. This gem is right on the Connecticut River and right next to a marina. Great views from the patio. For an appetizer I got the calamari. It's not easy to cook right. This was done perfectly. One of our table mates ordered a creative clam, corn and jalapeno chowder. The only negative about the food was the guacamole I had had turned and was not pleasant at all. Everything else was as near perfect as possible. PS our sever was enthusiastic about her menu recommendations. We will definitely go back.

We went here on a Friday about 2:00 p.m. The restaurant was semi busy with the bar inside where we ordered a beer and went out to sit at a picnic table on the water. Very peaceful, nice view and a perfect day for it.

There also appears to be extra seating at the back of the restaurant. The menu is small but has plenty of selections, both small and large bites as they call them. Our server, who was very friendly and pleasant as well as the other staff, took our drink orders and let us know what the fish was for the evening. We decided to order the sourdough bread, French onion soup, and two burgers with fries. This is a very relaxed atmosphere, a little in the dark side, and the seating was very tight between tables given the size of the restaurant but we adjusted the table and made it work. The bread arrived hot from the oven with their house butter which I couldn't quite figure out was in it. Almost seemed sweet as if it was a maple syrup base but can't say for sure. The bread was incredible and didn't last long. The French onion soup arrived in a large bowl with a number of crispy croutons and plenty of onions. The soup was very tasty with a little bit of a bit to it. The croutons were a very nice touch as they stayed crispy ti the soup was gone. The burgers arrived hot off the grill with large baskets of very crispy French fries. The burgers were large, cooked medium as requested, with nice slices of Grafton maple smoked cheese, bacon jam. Lettuce, and Dijon mustard. The burgers are very thick and the roll is soft and grilled nicely. The fries, which were right out of the flyer, stayed crispy through the whole meal. There are a couple of steps up into the restaurant so if you have mobility issues it might be a little bit of a challenge. All in all a great little restaurant with incredible food and great service. The next time we're in the area there may be a return trip.

This place is a cute establishment in DT Deep River. I had heard a few good things about it & I…read moredropped in to see for myself. The staff are pleasant, helpful & efficient. They have a great selection of menu items. Their beer, wine & cocktail list was very well rounded. The interior is decorated in a warm eclectic theme. I just grabbed a beer. I settled on a Moroccan lamb over noodles but was surprised when I was served a small soup bowl of stew. It had a 1-2 Tbs of clear celluphane noddles at the bottom. While it was solidly good, It was $14- which I found to be exorbitant for the item & serving size. It didn't even come with bread of any kind. I then ordered a house made pretzel $10- which came in a single braided format 10-12 inches long. It arrived with 2 ramekins of cheese sauce & stone ground mustard. I opted for the mustard. I did not care for the cheese sauce. It was okay but I was definitely not bowled over by it. Overall, I just wasn't too impressed with this place. The service was solidly good. The vibe & interior is solidly good. The food was fine but not great. I felt the prices for the items were just too high. They do have a happy hour with a burger & a beer for $12-? I can't actually remember the exact price). I recommend coming for their happy hour when prices are more reasonable.

The brunch menu offers a nice assortment of options as we had one member in our party who had some eating restrictions. We started off with both raw and roasted oysters, both of which, we some of the best we have ever had. I love Shashuka. I've never had it with tomatillos. This version is now my favorite. I enjoyed the play between savory and acid. I chose my eggs to be prepared over easy expecting the yolks to add the desired richness that tomatillos can handle without overpowering their bite. What set this version apart for me was the addition of the pickled vegetables. They greatly complimented the tomatillos with their own sweetness and acidity that made for a well balanced bite. Others in our party felt similarly, that their meals were so flavorful and so well execucted that it made for a superb dining experience.

They have a good amount of outdoor seating to the right of the entrance. Inside is a small bar with about eight seats (didn't count) and several high tops. There is also a loft with more seating overhead. We walked up a few steps to enter the building from the parking lot. I'm not sure if the side entrance also has steps so if you have mobility needs, call ahead to check. We sat at the bar and as it was a hot day, I asked for a water before ordering a drink. The water was refilled several times during our visit without my needing to ask. I really appreciate that! The bartender seems to be the owner from the way he was talking and let us know they have live music two night a week plus some nights they offer a special menu like Prime rib night or dogs eat free night. Yes, besides the kids menu, they have a menu for your pup. The interior is very much a barn, with lots of fun, metal signs and train memorabilia all around. Two TV's were on in the front corners of the room so you may be able to watch your game (golf the day we went) but it's not really set up as a sports bar. There is one fair sized restroom for everyone that is clean and locks with a hook and eye latch. They have a good size drinks menu which includes a variety of cocktails, a selection of draft and bottled beers and wine. The bar has quite a collection of whiskeys and tequila's. A separate menu is available for their pub fare foods. The menu is very well crafted. Lots of chicken options, sandwiches and wraps, burgers, hotdogs and salads. My SO got the spicy chicken sandwich. When asked, our bartender let him know it was spicy, but not too spicy and they have hot sauce behind the bar if he wants more heat. Which of course he did. He enjoyed the sandwich; crispy chicken, tasty sauce, fresh veg and bread. Messy to hold, after using several napkins he finished it off w/his knife and fork. Table ware set on the bar after ordering is in small paper sacks. I went for a burger. The patty is quite large, cooked to order and juicy. Fresh veg on there, soft bread and tasty. I enjoyed this burger and it was large enough I almost couldn't finish it. I opted for a side salad (for an up charge) instead of fries. The salad is a good sized side, the veg were fresh and the dressing is on the side. I did try the fries that came with the chicken sandwich and those are really good fries. Fresh potato, crispy outside, fluffy inside, salted. Really good. This was an excellent stop. Chatted with some friendly locals and the barkeep. Had a beverage. Grabbed a tasty sandwich. We left stuffed and happy. What more could you ask.
