Had high hopes after reading the reviews, are server Mathew was very pleasant and the calameri was very good but it ended there, we ordered steaks mine was ok but my wife's filet was awful and it had started to turn, be aware they put soy butter on there steaks and no where on the menu is it stated, in fact my strip was swimming in it, we told the manager about it but to no avail, so if you don't like it butter soaked steak let them know after you order. read more

NATAZ was a lovely fine-dining experience in my parents' humble town of Clinton, Connecticut. In my once-a-year visiting opinion, this sleepy beach & boat town, known for fishing and outlet malls, seemingly offers only seafood and pub meals everywhere you go -- so it was nice to get a tad upscale for once. Despite that, it's truly a neighborhood spot. The STAFF was adorable, attentive, playful, friendly, outgoing, etc. Especially towards my Mother... a unique character who craves attention, white wine, and steak, in that order. read more

Our first visit to Nataz. The space is in a former bank building. The rebuild is well done and it's a pleasant space. Our waitperson did his level best and enhanced our experience. The menu is a fixed price menu with four courses. The appetizer was a cheese board. This failed because three of our party don't care for cheese. The entrees were terrific. Two fish, one pasta, and one petit filet. The entrees were the stars of meal. The dessert choices were mediocre. Service and entrees were 5-star, appetizer and desserts a weak 3-star. Overall, we enjoyed the meal and will likely return. read more

Nataz is one of our favorite restaurants. Last night wasn't very good. The table ordered wine and took forever to get there. There were 7 of us. We were presented with their cheese board which had a few slices of brie, a golf ball size of goat cheese and three pats of different butter. We were told that there was no bacon for their wedge salad, one order of crab cake left and one order of tuna left. A person at our table ordered the tuna. Didn't look very good and very small portion as was the salmon. The lobster dish was meh. Lobster overcooked.My steak was really tough and hard to cut with my knife. We were there for my daughters bday and she came for the best cheesecake she has ever had. It wasn't the cheesecake she was hoping for. This was very dense and seemed to be from a box. My desert was coconut custard pie but received a dry, hardly any custard type of square bar. The crab cake and calamari were excellent. The appetizers were great. So was the company. Let's start with the staff, I'm always impressed when your server knows the menu inside out. They hit the mark every room (4x as of last night). Atmosphere is great the decor, open kitchen, remnants of the buildings history are all fantastic. I cannot say enough about our incredible experience at Nataz in Clinton. We went for an anniversary dinner, not knowing much about the restaurant. Our server explained their four course fixed prix design and shared the night's specials with us. I couldn't keep track, there were so many. We opted for a braised pork shoulder and porterhouse. We did not order any apps because we were immediately provided the grazing board, bread, and eventually our salad. The dressing on the signature salad was incredible and the textures were numerous-crunchy nuts, a poached apple? Yum. Our entrees arrived. My husband who can be such a pill adored his steak. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned in such a way the meat wasn't overshadowed. My pork shoulder is maybe in the top five meals I've ever had. I don't even like pork that much but the preparation method lured me in (I'm a sucker for anything French onion and there was a mention of it.) We were quite full by the time the dessert sampler arrived but managed to try a few bites of everything. I wasn't blown away by the chocolate cake-it was a smidge dry for me-but the coconut cake was delicious. If you're not big drinkers, you can snag an incredible meal at a reasonable price. We had several drinks between us which added a bit to the bill. I don't think they have an extensive bar-a couple hard liquors, wines, and beers-so be prepared they may not be able to make your favorite cocktail. No complaints here. We will be back often and encouraging our friends to stop by. read more

My first time there. I was extremely impressed with the service which I think is the most outstanding thing about Nataz. We were seated close to the door, but that did not bother us. Our waitress,manager, and busboy were all so attentive. We had the Prix fixe dinner, which included a cheeseboard to share, salad, entrée, and dessert or coffee. I had the rack of lamb chops. They were delicious. Next time I'm going to have the seafood dinners. They looked fabulous. The salad was outstanding. And dessert was terrific. We had a bottle of wine with dinner so this drove the price up. But all in all, it was fantastic from start to finish. Definitely worth it! read more

I said please guys, "let's not eat anything chain" while driving in the high way we found NATAZ and we didn't really know if it was a restaurant or not cause the sign was so small and I think it was an old bank location so it threw us off at first. We were greeted by the chef who said, " I'm nobody please come in enjoy the food". Well he ended up being very personable and friendly he cooked custom food for my very pick daughter we even met the dish washer who spoke Portuguese like us we were all very happy and having fun. We got to try his custom hot sauce. We saw him speak with everyone as he suggested food for new customers to try. A great experience, I walked away thanking him for all the amazing food and it's quality and service. I also enjoyed him being so present in our meal while not being at all intrusive. read more

This spot had the most incredible food and service. Our chef and host were so invested in creating a meaningful, enjoyable dining experience. My daughter and I tried the "adventures in eating" chef choice menu tonight for the first time. We were completely impressed from start by the friendly staff who greeted us and showed us to a comfortable table overlooking the kitchen. Heather our server, was very knowledgeable, kind, attentive without hovering and truly made the evening most enjoyable. We ordered the signature cocktail, gray goose, peach soda and fresh raspberries which my daughter enjoyed I had a refreshing gin and tonic. The meal started with a cheese board with a nice assortment of five cheeses, refrigerator fresh pickles, compound butter and fresh bread. Followed by a delicious raw plate with two shrimp cocktails and oysters, served with fresh horseradish, cocktail sauce, and a classic vinaigrette. Heather prepared a fresh field greens salad with an adventurous twist, a massive prime meatball. Yup, a decidedly different and yet super tasty salad. Next came two full size entrees a seared ahi tuna with fresh spinach, sauté vegetables, and rice with a spicy, but not too spicy soy sauce. Amazing. Chicken Randy, a rich creamy sauce over homemade wide ribbon noodles. Dessert, which was included, was a choice of six different full size desserts we chose a coconut custard and lemoncello mascarpone cake. Both were excellent fresh and delicious. All of this , the excellent service, attention to detail, and high quality expertly prepared food was $25.00 per person. Without a doubt the best food value we've ever had. Celebrated our anniversary with dinner at Nataz Clinton, a restaurant I have wanted to try since it opened but my husband isn't always receptive to trying new places. The thumbs up reviews were not wrong. Dinner was perfection. Reviews raved about the fried calamari appetizer so we ordered that as a starter. It could easily have fed 4 people. I agree it was the best I've had. My wedge salad was made with romaine instead of iceberg lettuce. The bacon spears were beyond words. I only regret not being able to eat more of it. My entree was Zuppa and was served in a long, narrow platter that just about stretched across the table! As expected, there were a lot of mussels along with clams, jumbo shrimp, scallops and calamari over broad noodles in a white wine sauce. Way too much food for me to eat. I shared with my husband who had ordered the mushroom risotto. Come to think of it, he didn't even offer me a taste! No matter, the chef made extra and we were sent home with enough food for another meal, plus dessert! read more

Made a reservation for a Friday night dinner for 4 people, originally tried for 5 people and was told nothing was available, upon arrival many open seating options so interesting that 5 couldn't be accommodated. The restaurant is in the site of an old bank, the decor is nice, the signage is small and two people in the party could not find the restaurant, they jokingly brought this up to the waitress and were told the small signage was intentional from the owner. The waitress seemed newer and was not on top of opening our wine, since the restaurant is byob , she also never offered a chilling bucket like another table had. The price fixe menu worked well for all in our party we had a cheese plate, and fresh mozzarella & tomatoes. Both were good, two had the salmon and one had the zuppa do pesce, the salmon was very good. Dessert was a bit of a letdown we all tried something different and were all a bit mehhh. I've enjoyed immensely the personalized attention of the chef/owner at the original restaurants he's had over the years in varying locations, and would still recommend his talented food, we just all were not super impressed with our experience on this night at the newest locale. read more

I have been to this place many times since it opened and until this last visit, I would consider it a 5 star restaurant. I have not been there in over a year and was excited to bring my family there last night. There have been a number of changes that took me by surprise. First, I'll discuss what I loved. The zuppa fra diablo and the branzino special were both as good as ever. These two dishes were the stars of the night. Otherwise the food was ok except for an inedible piece of steak. It was kind of like a stewed piece of meat and was sent back. The meal was promptly replaced with an additional zuppa fra diablo and was thoroughly enjoyed. I think the biggest negative was that they changed their policy on liquor. In the past it was BYOB. I loved this because I bring some really great wines. We were told that we could not open them, but we could order off their menu. The drink menu is nothing special. Was made even more frustrating when I pointed out to our waitress that the BYOB policy is STILL on the menu. She still would not allow us to open our bottles. She said that the old policy of BYOB was changed over a year ago. I can't believe that the BYOB policy is still on the menu. That is just plain stupid. To make matters even worse, our server was not at all familiar with the restaurant's drinks and wine menus, and did not follow our very explicit request to make a very dry martini. I even went so far as to tell the server to tell the bartender to add only a few drops of vermouth. I used to say that Nataz was one of the best restaurants in this area and certainly the best in Clinton. It seems they lost their way. read more

My son and wife treated their parents to an exceptional meal/ experience at Natz, on September 23, 2023. We were greeted by our server, Mathew and we were quite impressed with his extensive knowledge of the selections and specials. Our party of six all chose different entrees and every meal was beyond delicious!! Mathew was attentive and we never felt rushed which added to the enjoyment of our meals. We had added attention by the manager/owner(?), Rick. He oversaw the entire operation with professionalism and a dose of humor. What an awesome meal! On a very rare night away the staff at Nataz gave us a night to remember. We had the Delmonico and Zuppa, so much food! The seafood was so fresh and plump! Kenya and Cindy in the kitchen have magic hands and Tyler was our server, but really more of a host because he guided us through every choice with care seasoned with tons of humor! We walked into this restaurant not knowing it was BYOB and that it would take 3 hours to eat. The salad was really good, but the service was not so good, maybe they were having an off day. The main course was wonderfully impressive. The swordfish special was the best I've had in a long time. Our friends (who had been many times over the last 30 years) were very surprised that it's no longer BYOB, despite still saying it is on the menu and the website, but that is what it is. Unfortunately, they did NOT have any gluten free options for the first or fourth courses. The first course cheese board had crackers on it which touched the cheeses, so I couldn't eat it (even though the server knew I had a gluten allergy before it was served). There were also no GF options for the dessert, and they made no attempt to offer anything like a cappuccino. So, I paid for four courses and could only eat two. There's room for improvement there. But the second and third courses were fantastic. Would certainly suggest this restaurant, as long as no one in your party has any food restrictions. read more

We had a reservation here on Mother's Day. This was definitely a pampered experience. We only picked our main course. They brought us some small cubes of fresh bread with seasoned hummus, olive oil with a pepper on the bottom for taste, and butter. Crostinis came next with Brie cheese, Gouda cheese, and a slightly spicy cheese with grapes and apple slices for contrast. Their signature salad was one of a kind with Gorgonzola cheese, cranberries, and crispy potato flakes. According to my dinner companion, the seafood was very fresh but something was lacking in the white sauce that came with the Zuppa meal. She requested salt and pepper after trying the lemon to add more taste. Perhaps parmesan cheese or garlic could add some flavor. Nataz recently opened up in the old Clinton National Bank building across from the post office in downtown Clinton, so I figured that my wife and I would give it a try. It doesn't really look like a restaurant from the outside, but the inside has been nicely remodeled. I enjoyed sitting in the balcony area, which has a great view of the open kitchen. Nataz serves a four course Prix Fixe menu for $35, which comes with a cheese course, salad, entree, and dessert along with an amuse-bouche and bread. They also serve appetizers like fried Calamari for an additional charge, and also have a deluxe menu with options like Lobster or Prime beef for $70. I found the choices on the standard Prix Fixe menu to be very impressive for the price. I had a dry aged Delmonico steak that had to be over a pound in size, and my wife had the whole Sea Bass special. Both were delicious and very filling! The desserts were also quite good. I had the Coconut Custard pie, and my wife had the flourless chocolate torte. The pie was tasty (but a touch dry), and the torte was decadently rich and almost fudge like in consistency. The service was also friendly and helpful with helping us pick out our entrees. I left impressed, and will likely be returning soon! Just keep in mind that they are currently BYOB, so bring along a bottle of your favorite wine if you want it. read more

The ordering process is really easy, you can find the latest menu on their facebook page, message them your order on Facebook messenger, and can provide payment via Venmo or phone.
