Tried this place twice -there is a woman who works the front who is consistently rude and unpleasant with not just customers but staff. I heard her yelling at an employee who asked when she would be paid more than minimum wage. " when you know how to work" . Super uncomfortable to hear an employee spoke to that way. -They do not know their menu or ingredients twice I served a veggie egg roll with meat in it. I'm only giving it three stars because my wife and daughters still think the Moo goo is good. We ate there last weekend and I ordered the general tso chicken and all grizzled. My wife wanted get carry out last night and no answer even though it should open, stopped by there today store is closed until further notice..... This place has gone down hill quickly. The first few times I've visited within the last few years it offered your typical Americanized Chinese fair in the $7-$8 range. The last two visits, the food has gone way downhill. The chicken is overcooked, and neither dish we ordered, sweet & sour chicken and General Tso's chicken didn't have vegetables or peppers in it, which made both dinners pretty undesirable. My fried rice I ordered on the side didn't even have anything in it, just yellow rice! I'm guessing this place is starting to penny pinch anyway they can, maybe it's a sign of their demise in the near future? read more

When this place was in the Mall they were great It was managed by a guy that wore a baseball cap backwards all the time and he knew his business We are there once or twice a week Then they moved from the Mall to the current location and then I noticed the guy I knew wasn't there any more. Quality went down price's went up. It was still worth patronizing as Lancaster has little good food. Eventually they seemed to have an excessive amount of labor turnover and I wondered a little about just how clean their kitchen was. They then hired a girl that consistently tried to short change you so I wrote the place off. However after several years, I tried them again There only seem to be one hard working guy there now and he is pleasant The Kung po chicken has no celery like my wife likes it. The mark pi chicken has decent servings of meat and the sauce is good. They are back on my positive list I think they went through a bunch of ownership or management changes but you have to give places a new shot every now and then read more

We spent a little over $28 for 2 adults and 3 small children, including almost $8 worth of drinks. When we tried to get a SINGLE refill on 1 medium drink only, we were denied. The owner said they normally give free refills, but since our 2 children shared that drink we don't get the free refill. Can you believe that? Almost $8 in drinks and we can't get a single refill? In addition, the meat was so small and heavily breaded that there was little protein. The rice is generic. The portion size has decreased greatly since the previous owner had it. This restaurant it's not bad but it's not good either. The food is reasonably priced. There's a large selection to choose from, you can purchase one of the pre invented meals or make up your own. The most expensive thing I seen on the menu is $7.55 most meals Runabout $6.75. The beverages however are expensive at a large drink being $2.49 I have a hard time spending that much when you can purchase any size drink at McDonald's for $1 or a really large drink at Circle K for $0.79. Did you have a large selection of healthy items like brown rice and vegetables. The lady behind the counter was a little bit over-enthusiastic for me I wouldn't say she was rude but she was far from Pleasant. I literally had to take the to go menu and sit in my car make my decision then walk back in I hate it when I have not really been to a restaurant and somebody is like gunning for every word I say or any questions I may have about the menu. I ordered the chicken lettuce wrap and on the menu it says that all of the pi classic meals come with rice will apparently that one does not, nor does any of the lo mein dishes, it doesn't say it on the menu they tell you when you go to order. The lettuce wrap was good but not really good it was chicken and celery and some sauce served with a wedge of lettuce. Remember you're only paying $6.75 so I don't know if I should really expect more, it didn't have a lot of flavor but it was okay I would eat it again but I don't know if it's going to be one of those things that I crave and have to have. I believe I've eaten at a mark pi in Columbus and had the pad thai noodles and I found them very pleasant so I would like to come back and try them here to see if it was the Columbus one or if it's just the whole restaurant all over. The restaurant appeared to be clean the food is cooked per order when I was there I was the only one in the restaurant so the girl behind the counter took my order and cooked. I do like restaurants where I can actually watch them cook my food so that was a nice Plus. I also ordered the steam dumplings they were $4.50 for six of them, they were good and the sauce was good wasn't a bad price but they were good. If somebody was asking me if they should eat here at 2 why not all depending on how many people were in front of you in line and how many people are working behind the counter I don't really think it's a bad place to eat it's just there are nicer Chinese restaurants in Lancaster. read more

First time eating at Mark Pi's Express. Ordered the General Tso with fried rice. Similar to another reviewer's experience, the rice was weird, brown and simply tasteless. The General Tso's was the worst I have ever had. Not sweet, not spicy.. Basically tasteless. The egg roll was not bad and the sweet and sour sauce for it was unique tasting, not bad. My wife ordered chicken fried rice.... uneatable. She tried and managed to get through maybe a third of her order. I took two bites of it and couldn't continue. Terrible! We were hoping for an alternative to what used to be our favorite Chinese restaurant in town, but this is definitely NOT it. Will never go back. read more

I'm from California and the chow mein we have here is with noodles apparently here there chow mein doesn't have any noodles it's chicken with vegetables even though I ordered pork chow mein I also ordered fried rice which came out as brown rice I called and tried to explain my confusion the lady who answered was extremely RUDE!!! If I wasn't so defeated today I would have said more to her she was arguing with me basically said I tried to tell you lady all in all wouldn't recommend this place food is gross af and people who work here are RUDE af read more

This is the worse Chinese food that I have ever had. I would have said taste, but it literally had no flavor, no spice, nothing. I remember the days that general Tso has mini corn spicy red peppers, carrots, onions, etc and you had to have a glass of water on standby from the spice. Don't waste you money on this place. If you want tasteless Chinese, go the the grocery store and pick up some frozen Chines. It will likely be a better experience for you and your family. read more

I was a regular at Mark Pi's, Lancaster Ohio / until December,29 20011at 6pm I walked in to make a carry out order and had to wait because the guy that is working the front is to busy, taking carry out orders to take mine, I waited through 3 incoming calls and when he looked up and said ,,I just take this last call then I get your order. My wife and I decided this is rude and not the same management that we use to see, and maybe they sold out to the Mexicans because that is who was cooking and taking order's'' but only Phone In Orders only.. I cannot believe my experience at Mark Pi's....I was the only customer in the whole restaurant...I ordered General Tso's...with fried rice and needed it mild...am allergic to hot peppers...1st off they gave me white rice instead of fried...I took it back...they acted mad because I did that...So, I sat down to eat the dinner...It was SOOOOO HOT ! I was FURIOUS! I went up to the counter and asked for a to go box because I couldn.t eat it...she said we can make you another one...I said Really? I ordered fried rice but what I got was this weird, brown, tasteless scoop of rice that was nothing like the flavorful and colorful fried rice that you can get at any--literally any--decent Chinese restaurant. And so we tell them that it's so bad I can't eat it and they say "well, it's fried rice" and the cook says, "we used to do the flavoring and vegetables and everything but it was like every time I turned around I had to change the oil." First of all, you have to be a terrible restaurant to sacrifice taste for the *inconvenience* of changing oil. Second of all, had we been offered anything in compensation we would have said no because the food is that bad. Definitely would have taken a refund on that item (1.99), but no one even tried. At least trying or showing any concern at all would have been a kind of worthy compensation...but nothing. Rude. There is no other word for it. Well, except disgusting. read more

Food is good. It's fast Chinese food not a 5 star restaurant. They did forget to give me an egg roll b4 so when I told them it wasn't in the bag they made me 2. Like that you can basically make your meal if one of the entrees isn't quite what you want. Nice service. read more
