Probably the best 'review' I can give is that I have used Mark and his various crews for the entire 20+ years that I've been at our current house. Every. Time. We just completed a bathroom remodel, turning an old 1940's house pink-tile bathroom into a full walk-in bathroom with handicap accessibility, etc. His crew led by Dago was extremely professional (as always) and extremely thoughtful and intelligent about the project from start to finish. Examples are: - While installing the exterior fan, they noticed that the electric main leading into the house had frayed outer covering. They took pictures, sent them to me, and informed me that the cable was damaged and that I might want to contact the electrical utility people to have them come inspect. - While working around the 1940's style baseboard heat, which had pipes leading into the basement (so potential leak source for a full walk-in bathroom), Dago on his own initiative, made up a small TILE barrier, grouted into place, which completely hid the gap and made the room look very professionally done. - With that same baseboard heat, because we were getting a fusion toilet-sink combo (hand wastewater feeds into the basin of the toilet), it needed to be flush with the wall .. the baseboard heat stuck out from the wall and was going to be a problem. Dago and I brainstormed TOGETHER and we came up with an excellent solution of just extending the wall with sister-joices to be flush with the baseboard heater, making the sink-toilet installation a breeze. - And, finally, towards the end of the project, we were planning on installing two towel rods, one running behind the door. We bought the rods and gave them to Dago to install ... and he knocks on my office door and says he has a question. He brings me into the bathroom and comments that he remembers me talking about my Mom, who is in a wheelchair, and was at least a consideration why we were making the bathroom handicap accessible ... then he pulls out his tape measure and shows that, right now, the door opens for ~24", which is fine for a wheelchair ... but if they install the towel rod behind the door, it is going to only open ~20". He was concerned it might be hard for my Mom to get into the bathroom. THIS IS A CONTRACTOR!!! He didn't have to think about my Mom and considerations like that! But that is Mark's crews ... they've always gone the extra mile and its why I always recommend them to everyone. I'll caveat this by adding that Mark isn't going to be the cheapest quote that you get, but in our opinion the quality of work and expertise, not to mention the attention to detail and actual _caring_ about the finished product, is well worth the extra cost. read more

I would highly recommend Mark Meredith and his team for a range of home construction and upgrade projects. I have had Mark and his team conduct a couple of projects at my home and I am going to have them back soon for another project. Cannot say enough good things about Mark and his team. All done the right way and with your inspection and they inform and talk with every step of the way. We found Mark Meredith after multiple consultations with other crews, each one not giving us the answer we wanted or not calling us back for our complicated project (installation of a washer and dryer, and also bathroom rebuild in an older condo). We have had Mark and his team do significant work on our houses over the past few years. First job was driwall and wood repair due to water damage in a number of rooms of our townhouse. Second job was installing hardwood floors and carpeting in the whole townhouse. Third was a complete remodeling of the our master bath and some other remodeling of the other bathrooms. Fourth was prior to moving into our single family home, replacing all the wood outside the house with PVC, refinishing floors, repair and paint walls, and host of other jobs. All in all, significant work that took multiple weeks at a time. Mark is not the cheapest but in every case, he worked with us to find economical solutions to what needed to be accomplished. In a couple of cases, he identified alternative approaches to projects that actually saved us money. His crew is polite, respectful, cheerful, and always cleaned up after every day. In every case where things were not done to our satisfaction, fixes were made at no extra charge until we were satisfied. I was impressed by Mark and his crew and I look forward to hiring them again. I contracted with Mark to replace a section of siding on my house. I sent him pictures of the job and he responded quickly with a detailed proposal. On the day of the job, Mark's crew arrived on time. Mark's friendly assistant, Kevin, checked in with me before the crew started working. The crew worked efficiently to remove the old siding and install the new siding. Mark arrived on site shortly after his crew began working. Mark walked me through the job. I was pleased by the high level of detail given to the installation. They installed the new siding to the joints of the old siding with backing material at each joint. They applied caulk at the places where the new siding met the trim. The crew left the site as clean as it was when they started. I did not have the stain on hand to paint siding. On the day of the job, Mark exceeded my expectations by tracking down the manufacture and color of stain needed for the siding. He even had his crew take extra time to apply two coats to the newly installed siding. read more

This fall, Mark's team repaired a major plumbing problem from my ceiling in the basement. Someone else came in first (it was the weekend), repaired one leak in a pipe that it turned out had many leaks. Why do I know this? Because Mark double checked and showed me the problem. Of course his team put it right at a reasonable price quickly. Meanwhile they were working on my stairs, which I knew had to be totally rebuilt (a neighbor with my model had the same problem). Stairs are a big deal as far as carpentry goes when prefab doesn't work. Just goes to show that Mark Meredith always has experts on his team. The work was completed efficiently and with the least disruption to my household. I can never say enough about Mark Meredith. Don't bother with cheaper or "incentives" to use other contractors because it will just cost you extra money to fix what wasn't done right in the first place. We hired Mark's team to do repairs after experiencing a house fire. It was a complete re-build, gutted down to the studs. After more than our fair share of issues, dealing with insurance and a mortgage company who refused payment more than once, I was sure at some point they would throw in the towel and tell us to find someone else. But, they stuck with us and helped us to navigate the insurance process and all that went with it. LOVED that their guys did it all (other than hvac/plumbing/electric) because I always knew who was there and there was no delay in coordinating between when we could get someone in to paint or waiting for someone to do the floors. They checked in often and never complained when I stopped by or asked questions. Watching the guys work they paid a lot of attention to the small details to make sure everything was done right. Mark and his team are incredible professionals! We have been in our home for almost 19 years and have been pretty unhappy with painters and other contractors until we found him thru a referral about 8 years ago. They are great painters but what they can do with outside wood replacement is almost like artwork. They are just not satisfied until they get it right. If a style is not made any more, they design and create it! His roofing guy fixed a roof leak that two previous contractors had "fixed" and it leaked again. His wallboard repair team transformed my garage, which was literally falling apart due to initial poor craftsmanship, into a thing of beauty!! These guys do it all! My neighbor behind us saw what they did and hired his team to do some major wood replacement and my neighbor next door also hired them. Our old wooden deck was rotting and in need of rehab. Carl gave us an estimate to replace all the deck surface boards with a qualification that depended on the amount of rot we had in the old posts supporting the deck. Fortunately only a few required replacement and we did want the job to be done correctly. We also wanted a new sliding glass door to go along with our resurfaced deck. Saul and his helpers did the work on the deck and installed the door. These guys were great and made every effort to do the work professionally. They paid attention to details and did not hesitate in making corrections where necessary and to redo instead of covering up when necessary. The extra effort left us with a brand new look in our back yard and we could not be happier. Since I'm located out of town, I was concerned that it might be difficult to establish what was needed and to actually get the work scheduled when I would be available to provide access. He and his crew do an excellent job, both with the painting and with the repairs that are inevitable as a house ages. Most recently, we had some serious water damage from an incorrectly installed flat roof on our front portico. Mark Meredith is an excellent contractor. I have used their services several times and most recently had them repair two holes in the dry wall and repaint a rusting exterior stair railing. The dry wall work was excellent; you could not see that new pieces had been installed. The painting work the Mark's people do is also excellent. When the job was completed, Mark inspected the work and had one of his painters paint an area on the underside of the railing that had been missed. I appreciated this attention to detail as it will prevent future rusting and rust stains on the cement stair. Mark returns calls promptly and schedules visits to provide estimates promptly as well.
