This is without a doubt the best shrimp ceviche ever!!! We used to go here all the time and order a large with chips and salsa and of course an iced cold corona!!! I can finish the entire bowl, I feel guilty and a little glutouness for admitting this, but it's so damn good! I love how they chop the shrimp small so you can pick it up easy with your chips!! Came here for the first time because of the excellent reviews on here. Me and my gf tried the aguachiles and were extremely disappointed. They do give you a big portion for the 30$ you pay for the plate. But the shrimp have no flavor. All they use is lime juice and salsa huichol!! Are u kidding me!? Worst service ever.... it was a party of 5. We waited almost 15 minutes for someone to come over our table and give us our drinks and chips that normally are given when you walk in, we ordered our food right away and for the past hour waited for our food to come ( never showed up).the place was not busy at all but No one bothered to refill our chips or drinks until we got a little Confrontational with the waiter . At the end we all got tired of waiting, went to the front counter to cancel the order and the cook was barely making the food. The Coconut Ceviche was really good, we got the large & all three of us shared and still have left overs. The reason for the two stars though, is for the service. It was terrible, we walked in & were told to sit outside where the waitress would come, we sat there for over 30min & were not even acknowledged, no menus, no drinks nothing. Then we finally ordered our ceviche & that still took long. Now as we're still sitting here over an hour & neither our waitress or anyone else has acknowledged us, meanwhile they seem to be super friendly with everyone else. This is a whole-in-the-wall type of place but the food is delicious. Their agua de horchata is made fresh, from scratch. Just got eating here. Aguachile, half dozen oyster and micheladas. $30 for okay tasting aguachile. Taste/looked like tapatio sauce with a lot of salt. We only ate half. Oysters were okay. Maybe 2.5 stars for them. Micheladas were better in the past. I had to order another beer to give it some flavor. Sorry but I didnt even finish these either. Everything is over prices and over seasoned especially the salt. I'm usually for mom and pop shops but this place is more pricier than "el pescador" with worst service. Went to this place on a recommendation. Was I sorry. The star is for the strawberry lemonade, it was the only thing we liked. We love to support our fellow Mexican businesses. But were disappointed by the lack of organization and quality of the food. Waitresses were friendly, but forgetful. The food was served 45 minutes after we ordered. Fried tilapia was bland and had too much oil, beans were drowned with cheese, ceviche de pescado was made with old veggies and old fish. Hope they'll step it up. read more

A couple of friends had told me that this place was the bomb so I gave it a try on Sunday and I was a lil disappointed on the aguachiles they were not cook and had no flavor I know the shrimp has to be cook with the lemon and pink not gray. This place is the most authentic mexican seafood restaurant I've ever been to besides restaurants in Mexico! The owner is from Sinaloa, MX and he's so nice and welcoming. The service here is absolutely terrible. I visit these types of restaurants frequently so I understand when wait times can get lengthy and I'm patient when it's busy, but there was no excuse for having to wait over an hour for food when the place was almost empty. I noticed people coming in and picking up food (carry out) throughout my wait but nothing was being done about my order. It was 20 minutes before we even had our order taken and that wouldn't have happened if we hadn't called over one of the waitresses. First time here and sat outside had a fly in one of our drinks when we told the waitress about it she said she would have to charge us for a new drink instead of replacing it like every other restaurant would do. I live close by and I have 3 little ones who like them some mexican food - we like this place bc, even though it is very small (@10 tables inside and same outside) you can choose in or outdoors, the food is AMAZING, the waitresses are so super nice and the Owner, when he is in, ALWAYS stops by and says hi like you all are best friends. YES you do have a 20+minute wait time and that's bc the food is cooked fresh! The Ceviche is to die for and the tacos are good, they don't skimp on meat! The shrimp tacos are awesome! Had the Aguachiles and they are unique in flavor but very good. They have seating both indoor and outdoor. Their outdoor area have umbrellas over the tables so that you can enjoy the outside weather without the sun beating on you. Only downfall is that its cash only. I don't carry cash too often but there is an atm inside. I went to pull cash out and machine only gave me $40 which happen to be the last of it. Person after me had to get money elsewhere. Ok so thinking that spending 60 dollars at this place the salsa and chips should be complimentary and not excluded for orders to go...especially because they already have charged customers a buck for ATM/Debit. This is my third or fourth time coming, the last time when I went they had just opened,when I walked in they looked at me as if I was in the wrong place and time. I felt even worse when I came home and looked at my shrimp ceviche and didn't want to eat any since it was grayish instead of pink.. guessing it was to early? I won't recommend ordering the shrimp burrito,they put some cream thats similar to a spicy version of thousand islands dressing.I say stick with the carne asada burrito instead.The ceviche is pretty good but they do put alot of cucumber and ive had better. Street tacos are good but I don't enjoy the homemade chili. The menu is pricey but 20 minute waiting wasnt to bad, although I will be looking for different restaurants with good eats. It's 50 degrees and we have a baby so we left.
