My original posts were infested as well as terrible water damage. Nefi went above and beyond with the repair
Cynthia L.

Mariners did an excellent job. Douglas came out and did inspection and gave me a quote. I hired them for fumigation, and wood replacement around entire building. Douglas reassured me of the quality of wood and workmanship of his crew. He seemed to really know his stuff. The wood work went on as planned , initially, they were here a week. Nefi led a crew with Toribio and Manuel. They did an amazing job. They work fast, and efficiently. They did not cut corners at all. They did a great cleanup at the end of day everyday. They were easy to work with . I would definitely work with them again. Even at the end when the last repairs went past the week schedule. Douglas worked with me and my rearranged some schedules to make sure the repairs were done before end of year. As For Fumigation- that went well as well . This crew came in worked fast, answered all my questions and were out and finished early on the 3rd day.. overall this whole company has made the process super easy. Honestly, you get what you pay for, and I couldn't be more pleased with all the work that was done.

Wow! My new rear deck

I knew I had a bad termite infestation and a lot of wood damage, so I called some companies to do an inspection. Mariners replied same day. Three other companies never replied. Mariners gave me quote for tenting and would repair. It was pretty reasonable so I went ahead with the work. Tenting went great with no damage and no security issues (thank you!) Then came the wood repairs. Wow. Wow! My front deck was pretty chewed up by termites and Mariners completely replaced it. It looks amazing. Some of my roof beams were damaged. They put new beams with supports that look awesome. My rear deck had termite damage and Mariners rebuilt it completely. It looks amazing. Huge shout out to Douglas who did the inspection and estimate and even bigger shout out to Nefi who led the crew. I was so impressed with their communication and how thorough they were. Look at the pictures, everything looks better than new. Very satisfied with their work.

Nefi is on the upper level and Juan is on the lower level. They tear off the damaged wood and replace with new pressure-treated wood.

It makes me sad to write this review because I had no issues with Homeshield until a few months…read moreago. I have been a customer of Homeshield for years and have had various services - wood rot treatment, monthly pest and rodent service, rodent exclusion treatment. My parents also have Homeshield service their home because of my referral. I want to make it clear that the technicians who service my house continue to be great. My usual technician is Julio and he's always super friendly, on time, and does a great job. My issues in the last few months pertain only to the call center and billing. In April I was charged for my monthly service even though no technician came out to service my house. I called Homeshield to let them know and they indicated I would not be charged for June. When June came, I was still charged for June so I had to call back to ask once again for money back. The call center indicated that I called too late before they processed the payment so the charge would fall off my July billing. At the beginning of July I called Homeshield to schedule my monthly treatment because I was going to be out of town. I informed the call center that I was going to be out of town and that was the reason for me scheduling my monthly service. The call center was able to get my monthly pest service schedule before I left, the call center did not indicate that I had a separate rodent treatment schedule for July 24. I left the country and while on my trip I got a text that my house would be serviced on July 24. I was pretty confused because I thought I had my house serviced and I even told the call center I would be out of town. Due to the 9 hour time difference I had to tell my brother to call Homeshield to cancel the appointment. On July 22, my brother informed me that he canceled my appointment and notified Homeshield that I would call to reschedule. On July 24, I got a text from the technician that he was about 30 minutes from my house to perform the service. I had to respond via text that I had cancelled my appointment and apologize that the call center did not inform him that I had cancelled. I am not too sure what is causing the breakdown in communication but I honestly feel terrible for these technicians not being informed of things. It also doesn't sit right with me that I have to apologize to the technician not for anything I did, but for the breakdown in communication caused directly by the call center. I also am not sure what is happening with the scheduling since before the no show incident in April I had technicians service my house every single month without issue. Update: Bryana from Homeshield called me on August 5 to learn more about the breakdown in billing, communication, and scheduling. She was really friendly, professional, and apologetic. I felt like she was not calling simply for me to fix my review but actually listened and wanted to make sure that as a customer I felt that things were remedied. She thoroughly explained my services and what Homeshield was going to do to help make everything right. She also informed me that she was going to reach out to my dad to make sure his experience as a customer was great. Overall, I am really happy with how Homeshield handled remedying the situation to ensure that I continued to receive better services in regards to billing and scheduling.

Property damage and we're out 1500 dlls for an inspection that never happened…read more Me and my husband hired this company since we started seeing some termites walking around our home. They quoted us 1500 dlls, we agreed. First visit, the tech said they would have to send someone else to make a "re enterable" hole in our ceiling for them to come back and inspect. Second visit, people come and literally cut a piece of our ceiling out, covered with cheap plywood. Third visit, the tech comes back to "inspect" he walked in and did arguably nothing. He asked my husband for power tools, the "tech" didn't even bring his own tools to get into the ceiling hole. He told my husband he didn't know why the hole had been cut out there because he can't see anything from there. This guy also left a mess, he left the "re enterable" hole even larger and all the dry wall on the floor with a bunch of screws right outside our 1 year old's nursery. He ran out the house and just took off, no clean up, no "I'm sorry we will fix this" no follow up, no nothing. My husband called back and was given the usual "we will look into this" speech. It's been over a month and we haven't even gotten a proper inspection, they got paid and our property is damaged now.

Eddy Gomez came over and, after the inspection, confirmed that termites were active. I had previously used another company, which concerned me because, for whatever reason, their inspections had missed this activity. I also had another termite company come out and received their pricing. Green Flash was the last company I had inspect the property, and they provided the best option along with a reasonable price for the work. It wasn't cheap, but it was fair and reasonable based on the other bids I received, and there were options. I had read many of the past reviews and can say my dealings with the office managers (Amy & Wendy) went well. In addition, I received emails and text messages as reminders of the scheduled date and instructions required for this appointment. On the scheduled day, my doorbell rang promptly at 7:00 a.m., right at the beginning of the 7:00-9:00 a.m. arrival window. The project manager, Kyler, arrived, and two other gentlemen soon followed to begin the work replacing termite-damaged wood and then fumigating my attic. My neighbor even commented on how Jorge and Dave were just knocking out the work. When my wife came out later to see what had been replaced, she couldn't even tell because of the quality of the work these men provided. Everyone was easy to speak with and answered all of my questions. In addition, there wasn't a piece of wood or a splinter left anywhere around the house after they were finished. By 3:30 p.m., everything was completed, and I was given instructions on what to do if I had any further questions or encountered any additional termite activity. I'm glad I did my research and found Green Flash. I would recommend them to anyone who reads this and is looking for termite inspection and treatment services.

I am giving Green Flash 2 stars based on a severely rushed recent inspection and the poor quality…read moreof their past repair work. Recently, I had them come out because I suspected termites in one of our rafter tails. To their credit, they correctly identified that specific spot as just fungus and didn't try to oversell me on treatments I didn't need. However, their inspection was incredibly brief. They spent only a few minutes scanning the house, didn't check the attic at all, and gave us the all-clear. A couple of days later, I had a second company come out for another look. They spent almost an hour doing a thorough inspection and found a severe termite infestation in a different rafter tail that was almost entirely hollowed out. They spotted the signs right through the paint. Green Flash completely missed this. On top of the missed inspection, the wood rot repairs Green Flash did for us 5 years ago (costing about $1,200) have both failed and need to be redone. They spliced a rafter tail that is now loose, and it turns out they miscut a replacement barge board on the back of the house. To cover up the bad cut, they glued a scrap piece of wood over it, which has since detached and is currently hanging off the board. Bottom line: They failed to do a thorough termite inspection, and their carpentry work doesn't hold up. I highly recommend getting a second opinion on their inspections and hiring a dedicated specialist for any actual wood repairs.

Unfortunately, a couple of them seemed much more interested in upselling me than solving the actual problem. Then I found Countywide Pest Pros, and working with Jeff was a completely different experience. He took the time to assess the situation, recommended an affordable solution that addressed the issue at hand, and never once tried to sell me services I didn't need. I really appreciated his honesty and straightforward approach. Jeff was also incredibly responsive and was able to come out within just a couple of days of my initial call. If you're looking for someone who is knowledgeable, trustworthy, reasonably priced, and focused on helping rather than upselling, I highly recommend Countywide Pest Pros.

We were informed by our pest control company M that they found a number of local infestations of…read moretermites during their routing inspection. We had been using this large company for several years and had found them to be capable of doing the routine work. We asked for an estimate and it was several thousand dollars for treating the termites and a another few thousand for the carpentry work to replace the eaves and decking. With such a large amount involved, I contacted two additional companies. One came out and wanted even more money and told me the entire house should be treated as a precaution. Cal Coast, the last to visit, did a thorough inspection - the only of the three to document each problem area with photos- and recommended localized treatment for well under $1000 including the wood repairs. Some of the areas the other companies said were termites, were dry rot according to Cal Coast. The other companies also wanted to replace forty feet of fascia board, even though there were just a few inches of damage in each area. The differences in estimates were so huge I spoke at length with Michael of Cal Coast, who conducted the inspection. He confirmed my thoughts that the other two companies were doing much more than was needed. It was so unusual to find a company that distinguishes between work that is needed from what is not. Cal Coast did the work promptly and I hired them do do regular inspections, after "terminating " my previous company. It's nice to find those companies that think of their customers before of their bottom line. It's great for the customer and should be great for the business in the long run, because the word gets out through reviews like this.
