Stopped here for lunch. Had fish and chips. The place was 2/3 empty as we got there after the lunch rush and it was during the pandemic. It took almost 30 minutes to get our food. The fries were lukewarm. The coleslaw was meh. Saw the waitress groan loudly when we were being seated. The gal that seated us said our waitress would be right with us. It took 10 minutes before she came over. She didn't check on us. A sign that was almost 4' tall was plastered on the front door warning about eating out during the pandemic with how much of a fine the owners would get if not following it. We could see straight into the kitchen where we were seated. A cook had a balaclava on, but he took it off.

They do have gluten free bread (not advertised on web or menu inside that I found) but after server heard about my sensitivities she saidshe has a very allergic friend and wanted me to be as safe as possible! So they made me a Club without the bread. It was perfect and I loved the extra olives. Thank you for caring about those of us who can't eat "normal"!

For such a small community this little town never ceases to amaze me with their hospitality and surprisingly good finds. Mariner's Cafe is no exception! Located in the same shopping plaza as the JCPENNEY and some small businesses, they have the ideal corner location that gets just the right amount of morning light without being overbearing and some of the nicest people around manning the ship. It is a place where the locals come to support the business and do not tire of the many options both the breakfast and lunch/dinner menus have to offer. We stopped in after an appointment in town and were delighted to have a delicious meal. It was the first time we've had breakfast outside of the home in 7 months. It felt really nice and safe - all of the tables inside were more than 6 ft apart and all employees were masked as were patrons, when moving about the place or eating. I had the veggie scramble with blueberry pancakes and fresh baked apple raspberry rhubarb pie (made sugar-free! And every bit as delicious as the real thing!) I was thoroughly impressed and look forward to checking back in the future to see what other pies they have!

    Cooked to perfection!

Quite a lot of tasty food. Not inexpensive, but probably comparable to the other options. Very friendly staff.

Awesome burgers!!! Great selection as well. Be sure to order from Mariners Cafe directly, stay away from DoorDash if you want a fresh meal.

Staff super friendly, sadly like everywhere else the prices have risen greatly over time. Hubby ordered the classic Eggs Benny w/ fries instead of hash browns w/coffee. I ordered Eggs Benny Country Style on a croissant instead of muffin. Each were a whopping $20.50! (For an old school cafe that's high.... if it was a fancier water view place or maybe a fresh crab or salmon Benny sure.) Mine came with their grated potato pancakes. I asked about the sausage gravy since it came with a mushroom sauce so she brought me a small side but realized later was charged 3.25. They advertise their bacon as premium thick sliced from Seattle butcher, hickory smoked weighing over 1/2lb for 4 slices (9.00) it was good but honestly looked and tasted like a standard good bacon. We were expecting something more like decadent crispy pork belly for the price and description. Hubby enjoyed his meal, but eggs Benny should have a soft yolk and both of ours were cooked past that. Our server was so sweet we didn't want to complain. Coffee $5 but was good blend and ended up buying a bag they offer at register for $12 from local roaster down the street. My meal was good.... but unsure about the mushroom sauce and I love them. It was like this underlying slight sour taste that kept me from really enjoying it. The potato pancakes were different from what I recall. I thought they were more like latkes with a crispy potato taste/texture but these are so finely grated that you can't even detect they are shredded potatoes. It was more like a super thin buckwheat flavor to me, unique but was good with the yummy applesauce & sour cream. I ordered a Bloody Mary $12.50 was flavorful didn't feel any alcohol but fine. We enjoyed our meal for the most part, couple of slight disappointments but the prices are so extreme I don't know how people can afford eating breakfast here. Our bill with tip came to $90!!!! That's just crazy. I saw on the menu the price for side items like $4.75 for ONE EGG??? $5.95 for TOAST??? Wowza, Sorry but it just takes the enjoyment out of dining. That's just being greedy to your loyal customers.

We had the breakfast tacos. Beautifully tender and warmed tortillas, with perfectly crispy and seasoned potatoes cheesy eggs, and smokey chorizo. The mango salsa was a great pairing to add just the right sweet, heat. The yogurt parfait wes worth the trip by itself. Freshly made yogurt and granola. Can't say enough but YUM. Full bar is just a big plus . The are very concerned to food sensitivities. So glad that we were able to finally give it a try! Jon ordered a 3 egg scramble with cheddar cheese and chives but he had mushrooms and spinach added! So yummy! He also up charged the toast for fruit. I ordered a BIG BREAKFAST which is a sandwich with a square hash brown, cheese, burger patty and a fried egg on top. The aioli seemed like it was just mayo... and the bun was meh. So I ate everything in between the two buns and it was super yummy! I also uncharged and got fruit and they gave us yummy strawberry, blueberries and banana! Really enjoyed the fruit! Great meal! Very short wait for good and the waitress was very pleasant and quick to take order and give us our bill.

It was sweet and buttery so I didn't even need to add syrup or butter to my French toast! Vegetable omelette was super yummy and we are super appreciative that the server was able to substitute potatoes and toast for squash due to Jon's dietary needs. The bad: They only serve drip coffee. We live in Sequim! They really need to step up their coffee game and offer lattes and expressos. I ordered OJ. They were out of OJ. Really? The ugly: My over easy eggs were UGLY.... Both eggs were broken and one was overcooked. So relieved they did good and replaced them with yummy over easy eggs. The other ugly (which caused the 4 star review) is how EXPENSIVE this restaurant is. Jon ordered a vegetarian omelette $18 plus $3 salsa plus $3 avocado plus $3 change of potato and toast to squash. Really? His one omelette order cost $27 before tax! $30 after tax!

They had to change the syrup for my soda, which took almost 15 minutes. When my soda arrived, it wasn't diet but the sugared version. No attempt made to fix this. When my meal arrived, the scramble ordered with egg whites only had bits of egg shell. I'm not sure how they got there, but it was I little like Russian Roulette as every third bit or so contained a tiny little egg shell piece. It was off putting. The potato hash accompanying the egg shell scramble was too greasy to have. Combine this food with a slightly combative server and you get a terrible and, in my case, unforgivable experience. Zero things went well and all of them went poorly. Breakfast for 2 was 60 bucks plus tip, and it's money I've invested in learning how much I do not care for Chestnut Cottage. 0/5, do not recommend
