This is a super convenient spot right by the Washington ferry. I stopped here for a quick breakfast after realizing I arrived way earlier than I needed to for the ferry. The place was pretty empty, but there were a few people scattered about. My server was a bit rough, but it sounds like she's still fairly new. She greeted me fairly quickly, but did forget to give me a menu. I ordered the Bayview muffin with bacon and a water. I think she came back by my table 2-3 times to clarify my order. The food did come out quickly and it was hot. Pretty standard diner breakfast food. It wasn't bad by any means, but not something I would make a priority to get again. If you need convenience while waiting on the ferry this is not a bad place to go.

Service was absolutely fantastic. We'd barely walked through the door when the server walked over and brought our 2 year old a child proof water along with ours. The owner seems to be a sweet couple, the wife was doing hostess and managerial duties and greated us warmly at the door. Her counterpart was bussing tables and was very on top of it. Sadly the food was a bit of a disappointment. Hash browns seemed to be previously frozen and were very dry and bland. Gravy was far from the best and the sausage was dry and shriveled. That being said the view was unmatched and the pancakes and eggs were on par. Would give them another shot for lunch.

Time for an early dinner. So i went safe and had a Ruben. it was good but needed Russian dressing to make it right. in the end it turned out right. Great view of the ferry's.

I would not say that this is the best restaurant option in town, but we really enjoyed our lunch there! On a cloudy Saturday we went on foot on the ferry to PT with our dog. A lot of fun walking around etc but finding a place to eat with him in tow AND find a nice view outside is not as easy amongst all the great choices around town. Bayview has a tiny outdoor patio at the ferry dock end of the building that is quite rudimentary. The planter boxes could use our gardening prowess! But they were so gracious to help us including a Senior citizen that doesn't walk as good to the patio that was all ours to sit and watch the ferry ops and sailboats "on the hook" in the bay. It's a family owned place by I think a Korean family and their teenage sons help out wonderfully. Our server was a really nice local young lady that took good care of us and checked in though we were way out there from the regular dining room. There was a huge doubled up table of a family of 12 or more that were taken care of well and so many booths with great window views inside. Think sort of dated bar/cafe vibe with good food and staff. I saw what others were eating when going through and it all looked great! I ordered a French dip and fries. Probably one of the best dips I've had in a while with tasty roast beef!! The wife tried it too and liked it. The fries large steak fries and good Jus! The ladies split a large bowl of clam chowder and they liked it! I won't eat that but it looked good enough to and big chunks of potato with saltines. They then ordered the fried oysters plate with fries and Cole slaw. Oysters fried to perfection. From this meal and what I saw others eating inside, this place knows how to fry food without it being greasy!! The Cole slaw so simple but tasty!! We all tried it. Cabbage, carrots, mayo, had a hint of orange flavor. The menu had so many other things I'd jump on including fish and chips, great burgers and other entrees and large salads. I'd eat here in a heartbeat. Thanks Bayview for making our Saturday lunch in town chill and tasty!

Our waiter was very engaging and the food was delicious. Did I mention that we had a gorgeous view of the water and even saw some otters. We will be back.

The menu is embarrassingly dated, like a hold over from the 1980s. Sausage or bacon or ham in every egg dish unless you like oysters instead. I appreciate minimalism, but there's really no effort at catering to a 21st century, vegetarian forward palate. The egg dishes were mediocre. The hash browns were not crispy nor juicy, rather they seemed raw and undercooked. I got the veggie 3 egg omlette, which was passable and dull. I skipped the coffee it seemed like it had scalded from sitting on a burner too long. The most fantastic dining views right on the water, however, the kitchen trotting out 1950s-era plates, and even botching up hash browns, is just a terrible sad use of space.

Visited Bay View Restaurant in Port Townsend for the first time with family, and it was a lovely experience! The restaurant offers a beautiful view, perfect for a relaxing meal. The parking lot is small, but we managed to find a spot since it was early for breakfast. We seated ourselves, and the staff was great--friendly and attentive. Our breakfast was good, though we kept it simple with basic options. I also tried the Bloody Mary, which was quite enjoyable. Looking forward to returning to try out their lunch or dinner menu!

Located a bit down the road from downtown Port Townsend, the old-school diner style Bayview is a great breakfast stop. - Full menu. - Great waterfront views. - Friendly service. recommended.

My husband and I along with our group of friends decided to have an early dinner together here over the weekend and the service was hands down the best we've experienced. There was one server in particular who was helping our party (wish I got his name, but he was Caucasian with no hair and wore glasses), and he made taking everyone's order and cashing us out so smooth and easy! Also, his demeanor and hospitality was very kind and professional, we greatly appreciated him! The food selection was great, my husband was thrilled to have found out their special was prime rib so he got himself that and I ordered the blackened salmon. My fish was on the dry side and veggies were really salty, however the mashed potatoes and salad were flavorful and good. We would've loved to have ordered dessert but we're so full. Our friend ordered the brownie boat and strawberry shortcake which we clgot to try a little of and it was so good. If we're ever in the area again we'd love to come back here again!

The pulled pork breakfast burrito is amazing--definitely one of the standouts and something we'd order again. I was a little hesitant to try the Boat Yard Hash again because I'd ordered it a few years ago and found it very underwhelming--mostly potatoes and not much flavor. I'm so glad I gave it another shot! This time it was completely different and absolutely delicious. It had tons of flavor and was a huge improvement from what I remembered. The biscuits and gravy were another winner. The gravy was packed with flavor and made the dish much more interesting than the bland, flour-and-milk style gravy you sometimes get. Three dishes, three hits. This visit was an easy 5 stars for us.

After signing in, we gazed at some of the fancy boats in the marina next door. Our wait passed quickly, and we were seated at a table along the wall. While the server said they could make a lot of different drinks, they do not serve orange juice!? My wife ordered and enjoyed their Flanagan omelet. My daughter ordered biscuits and gravy, which looked like a hearty dish for anyone. My son-in-law went with some yummy-looking cinnamon French toast, which must have been good, as he finished first. I couldn't make up my mind, so I went with scrambled eggs and bacon. The bacon was particularly good and nice and thick. The thin sourdough toast with raspberry jelly was also great. The breakfast potatoes were a bit disappointing. Service was friendly, but my wife would have liked a coffee refill or two. The cafe is a bit away from downtown shopping but offers plenty of free parking. We will give it another try as our meals were overall delicious.

This is likely the most memorable soup I've ever had. Creamy, smooth, with the perfect balance of fresh buttery salmon. If you come for one thing let it be this!!! As a Floridian who's traveled to the New England states, I can confidently say I know seafood, and this chowder still surprised me! The rock crab Mac n cheese was also excellent. Warm, gooey, and bottomless. The crumb layer enhances each bite of that tasteful crab. Again, the perfect balance of the seafood flavor with the rest of the meal, making each bite hit with the same comfort as the first. I was getting ready to leave the area and I didn't want to miss my ferry but I was starving, so I ordered a couple items for pickup and headed over. I chose the Teddy Oggie which is a traditional steak pasty and I also ordered their Big Dawg because I'm a big girl and I'm familiar with the size of a pasty so I thought I might need a little something extra. When I arrived, the vibe was kind of awkward. There was music playing and there were only one or two other people inside. The staff wasn't particularly welcoming and after a few minutes I was happy to grab my food and leave. As I walked back to my car I realized I had a little time before I had to head to the ferry so I stopped at an outdoor table to have a little sample before I headed out. The food was so dry. And I don't mean a little dry, I mean really really dry. The pasty in particular was overwhelmingly crusty with very little moisture or flavor to balance it out. I was hoping for something warm and savory but instead it was just brittle and stale. It tasted old . Like it had been sitting out for a while and then been overcooked . After a few bites I threw it away and felt relieved that I had bought a second item because I hadn't eaten all day. The sausage was just as bad. The bun was so dry it was crunchy. I didn't mind that the sausage skin had a crunch to it, but unfortunately once I got inside it wasn't moist or juicy either. Oh and the little tiny sliver of mustard that they put on top? I could have pushed that all into one bite and it still wouldn't have been enough. I took a few bites and threw that away too. I understand pasties can be crusty and that's part of what makes them a pasty, but there's a huge difference between being so dry and crusty that it's difficult to eat and having a real savory pasty. The whole experience was so disappointing. I don't know if Yelp has made a huge mistake with the rating for this place or if I just caught them on a bad day. I love the idea and I often go to British pub style restaurants when I can but based on my experience here I would not recommend this location.
