This review is long overdue. My 6 country birthday trip to Europe was epic! And I loved my dinner at La Marina De Paris. It was truly a delightful experience. I initially wanted to have dinner at restaurant "54 Tour Eiffel" located on the first floor in the Eiffel Tower but it was booked for the next 3 months. On the way back from the Eiffel Tower & museums, we passed by the lovely marina which was offering lunch & dinner cruises. It was too late to have lunch so we chose the dinner option. It was a perfect way to spend a birthday. The food was delicious, the champagne was lovely, the price was reasonable, and the views were just spectacular... On our first night in Paris we wanted a basic introduction to the area. The night cruise was the ticket. For $80 U.S. per person we had a nice 3 course dinner with a sampler plate of four apps an entree my wife had the salmon and enjoyed it. I got the chicken but found it a little bland. For dessert they had a three sampler plate. My wife is allergic to almonds and when I requested the almonds covered biscuits not be on the plate the waiter no longer spoke English. We also told them on reservation it was our 25th wedding anniversary and nothing extra was presented that night. There was 3 birthdays celebrated. A little extra effort would have gotten the fourth star. Dinner also included a glass of champagne and wine for each of us. We also added a nice bottle of white wine for $28 euro. There are some dinner occasions that the food is the least of the concern, because you are not going there for the food. The Marina de Paris Dinner Cruise is one of those events. We were there for the breathtaking cruise on La Seine. We were there for the views of some of the World's greatest historical monuments along the river. We were there for some of the most romantic moments one would cherish for a lifetime. We were there for the love that's in the air. But we were very pleasantly surprised by the presentation and the quality of the food. This is one of those rare occasions where the food is actually really good. (Given that it's served cruise ship/banquet style where they have to serve several hundred people at the same time, we'll need to keep our expectations reasonable.) Here's the menu: APPETIZER PLATE: On the picture, from top left going clockwise: -- Scallops on a bed of fresh tomato with basil crumble -- Quinoa and confit vegetables with butterfly shrimp -- Little chou pastries with fresh goat's cheese and a balsamic vinegar coulis -- Duck foie gras with red fruit chutney MAIN COURSE: Choice of fish, chicken (leg and thigh) or beef steak (+7 Euro) DESSERT PLATE: On the picture, from left to right: -- Glass of strawberry tartare and fromage blanc -- Lemon meringue shortbread with apricot coulis -- Chocolate mousse with a crispy crepe and pistachio chips -- Light toffee cream with a fizzy chocolate marble We love it that they gave us a sample of 4 apps and 4 desserts so that we could taste several different things. Everything was good. If I must pick one thing to criticize, I would say that the foie gras was a little bland and not rich enough in flavor. But that's OK, as the food has already far exceeded my expectations. I booked this for our first night in Paris and let me tell you, this is one of the best decisions that I've ever made in my travel adventures. For any first-time Paris visitors, I would highly recommend that you do it on your first night if at all possible. -- You'll literally start off your visit with a BANG! -- You'll enjoy a most romantic dinner. -- Your significant other will be so impressed. -- You'll get a preview of where you'll be going to in the next few days. -- You'll get a sense of directions of where all the major monuments are relative to the river. -- You'll get to see and appreciate the beauty of Paris, and if you take the late cruise, you'll see Paris by night. Dinner cruise starting at the D'orsay and doing the usual loop around Paris on the seine. Our ride was lovely and the food was good - not great. The tour gets a 4 but the food us a 3plus. The pâté was good while he steak was very tough - not unexpected but probably not the greatest cut. The captain compensated by giving us a view of all sights including the light illumination of the Eiffel Tower. Choice of wine- better to share a bottle for two. So to start with the good pieces of the experience. I don't believe I will get food poisoning and only one person had to be removed via ambulance. This is an inexpensive dinner cruise comparatively speaking but they attempt to increase the bill through the most tourist trickery possible. Upon arrival, our server Luc was ready for us to get started. He didn't really care if we had a good time, just that we finished the meal. The menu appears to have some choice but that is really not the case a Luc was happy to tell us. He then gave us our first real choice, sparkling or still water. I said tap water is fine. A free glass of wine comes with the meal. The wine classes hold about 2 ounces so they did not overcommit to a value. We wanted to order a glass of sparkling before the meal started but was not given the chance. The appetizer was slammed down prior to the boat leaving the dock. We had to flag down Luc to get a bottle of wine as the 2oz glass was not going to last. The apps had not seasoning and were basically bland very small portions of nothing. A photographer was encouraging guests to take pictures to remember the event (an obvious revenue generating trick). We declined. The photographer came back later acting as if he hadn't asked us and declined again. Dinner came and again we were treated to a flavorless blob of protein and vegetables and they do not put salt and pepper on the table. Dessert was more small sized blandness. One guest had to be removed by ambulance in the middle of the trip but no one notified us as to why the boat had stopped mid-trip. Once we got restarted, Luc slammed the check down and did not ask if we wanted more wine. The check of course had charged us for a bottle of water we did not ask for nor wanted to pay for. Luc became agitated and did the clicky pen waiter routine as we paid for our experience. With no beverages left and a rude waiter avoiding us, we were not able to purchase more as the cruise continued. Avoid this scam trip. It isn't worth the aggravation. The views are spectacular as they couldn't mess that up on such a beautiful night. read more

We did the 2 hour dinner cruise on the Seine and it was the highlight of our trip! Food was delicious and the service was great! We had amazing views with a table right by the window plus rose petals on the table and a bottle of champagne. read more

Very expensive for what you're getting. The food was ok. The drinks were ok. We did the romantic package. Champagne was included. Red wine was €14 per glass. There was a very annoying couple behind us: under-dressed, drunk, cursing at the monuments we passed, proclaiming loudly how they hate certain nations, breaking a glass, spilling their drinks twice, making out almost the entire time; but I guess that's the kind of crowd this boat attracts. The waitress was ok. The views were terrific, which is really what you're paying for, but you could have a much better meal for the money at various other restaurants. read more

My husband and I celebrated our 35th Wedding Anniversary in May 2014. We boarded the Marina de Paris at 7 pm and dined on the ship. The cruise up the Seine River was lovely as we enjoyed a three course meal. After cruising towards the Eiffel Tower music starting playing as we danced and enjoyed the scenery. upon arriving in front of the Eiffel Tower we witnessed a light show, we learned Twinkle Twinkle Eiffel Tower does a Light Show every Hour, and what a beautiful Light show it was . This is a SCAM! Do not purchase with this company! I purchased a Valentine's Day cruise with them for a very hefty price... we never left the dock! They handed out a card with an email to contact with complaints, but they never refunded us. Huge scam, do not trust this company... they owe me $200! read more

We just came home from our trip to Paris and I can't say enough great things about the dinner cruise we had on Marina de Paris! We have done quite a few dinner cruises in our travels, but this one tops them all. The sampler appetizer, the entree and the sampler dessert presentation were all exquisite! The service was impeccable and the views from the boat were fantastic! I loved how the tables were set up so that nearly all the dinner patrons were able to enjoy a window view. I also appreciated the fact that the tables weren't so close to each other making one feel claustrophobic. So often the dinner cruises have so many tables you don't feel comfortable moving about. My husband and I were overjoyed to discover this wasn't a buffet type dinner cruise where you spend most of your time in line at the buffet and miss out on the scenery. We enjoyed the music and felt it was perfect and not so loud that you couldn't enjoy your conversation. The timing of Alicia Keys' Empire State of Mind and the music played as we floated by the Eiffel Tower were enough to make one well up with tears. This cruise was 67 euros each and 18 euros for a wine package which my husband thoroughly enjoyed. A photographer came around to take several photos of the diners which you could purchase at a decent price compared to some places we have been. We both felt the dinner and ambiance was euros well spent and will definitely do this again on our next trip to Paris. read more

Every positive review here cannot be genuine. This was the absolutely WORST food we have ever had and Paris should be ashamed. This was a total rip off. If you don't believe me, go ahead and do it and then you will say you should have listened to my advise. They also pester you to take photos at Euro 20 each, or Euro 50 for 3. My girlfriend got extremely sick on the vegetarian appetizer and spend the rest of the night on the toilet. They charged us 9 Euro for tap water put in an Evian bottle as if it was genuine Evian. They charge an extra 7 Euro for the beef dinner and the beef was tough and awful. They give one glass of cheap wine with the meal and nothing more, not even coffee. The chicken choice was disgusting. These are a crew of pirates who cheat and take advantage of tourists. Avoid this operation like the plague. If you want to do a cruise, do one without dinner for a lot less. If you want a great meal for less money, go to a cafe or Le Grand Colbert. One star is too much of a rating. read more

I always seem to have trouble with City Vision tours. The cruise and dinner service felt rushed, not the friendliest of staff, not the greatest food or views. We watched other boat tours that seemed to go further and allowed for guests to walk out and see views from the deck. Smaller boat so it was quieter, more intimate which was nice. read more

This was a dinner cruise on the Seine on a nicely appointed boat. The cruise is the standard 90 minute run on the Seine along with what it bills as a gourmet French meal. I am sorry to say that it was anything but. Air France's in-flight meals were considerably better than this. At 49 euros a head I expected much more. Probably the only tasty thing in my pike-perch fillet in crayfish sauce with rice vermicelli was the sauce. Pretty much every thing was tired or uninspired. It was like an industrial kitchen had factory-thawed 100 frozen dinners all at the same time. The cruise itself was lovely - how could it not be, gliding under all those Paris bridges? My wife and I went back to our studio flat and I cooked us a real meal - speck wrapped around cottage cheese, duck breast with wild mushrooms and seared tomatoes, finished with some fine chocolate all washed down with lots of good wine. Sorry - none of that can be ordered on the Marina de Paris. read more
