Ducasse sur Seine -- A Paris Experience Worth Every Penny I honestly don't know why we never did this before. After so many trips to Paris over the years, I had always dismissed a Seine dinner cruise as too "touristy." But this time, we were showing a close friend around Paris on her first visit, and since she didn't have many days to see it all, we thought -- why not see the city from the water? You get the landmarks, the lights, and that unmistakable Parisian magic all in one go. Well... WOW. Seeing Paris at night from the Seine was nothing short of breathtaking, and it reminded me all over again why this city is so special. But the real surprise was the food -- Alain Ducasse may not have been in the kitchen himself, but his influence was unmistakable. We did the five-course wine pairing menu, and every single course was beautifully executed and delicious. Each plate arrived perfectly timed, and the wine pairings were spot on -- balanced, interesting, and complementary. The service was excellent overall, though our waiter did make a small mix-up (we ordered two and two for each course, but one round came out as three and one). It wasn't a big deal -- we were relaxed, enjoying ourselves, and thankfully, no one had allergies. A quick note -- I'm usually not much of a wine drinker outside of Europe since it tends to give me headaches back home, but here, I have no issues at all. Every pour was smooth and enjoyable. If anyone knows why that happens, I'm all ears. The total came to around $1,350 for four of us, and honestly, it was worth every penny -- the view, the food, the wine, the whole experience. 5 stars for location and quality,.just do it on your first trip to Paris. This river cruise docks in front of the Eiffel so your cruise will begin with daylight views and end with the tower sparkling right in front of you as the evening ends for perfect pictures. Food presentation was beautiful although flavor profiles were sometimes a miss. The bread and the BUTTER were the best. Staff seemed exhausted and over it. I'd still recommend it. read more

Alan Ducasse, I really don't know much about the person but he's popular in France with restaurants and shops. Unfortunately, we got food poisoning while dining on the river cruise. Let's gets the positives out of the way. The cruise and ship was fantastic. 2 hours round trip up the river and back. It was perfect. On to the food. Nothing great here to write home about. Nothing. Fancy designed small portion all surrounded in some sort of sauce. Everything. Sauced. Not one plate stood out or really wowed me. At nearly 250 euro that's really troubling. The wine pairings were nice though. About the food poisoning. Yes, I narrowed it down to this restaurant based to what we did and didn't eat together at previous restaurants. We think it was the main lobster entree. Which was basically a quartered lobster tail. It was small. I do distinctly recall how difficult it was to cut the lobster meat. Usually I can slice right through the meat. Fast forward 5 hours and it was a diarrhea vomiting extravaganza for the next 5 hours and body aches and weakness for the next 15 hours. We lost a complete day in Paris because of this dinner. I obviously don't recommend going on this dinner cruise. read more

This is a must-do in Paris! Due to the amount of rain they received we couldn't get to parts of the Seine but still had some great views. The food and wine pairings... CHEFS KISS! Omg, I don't understand how anything could be more amazing. Great food, great view, great drinks. I don't have anything to say except wow. The lobster was incredible and the strawberry desert was really refreshing. The waiters were so nice and did everything we asked them. This really does deserve the name Ducasse! My mother in law was visiting and we decided that this could be a good way to celebrate her birthday and for a unique experience. The experience was excellent and exceeded my expectations. All of us enjoyed our meals and the wines we selected (Pierre Peters Champagne 2018 Grand Cru and Pierre Girardin Puligny-Montrachet) ) were excellent. This was by far the worst meal of our 2 week European trip. The food didn't taste fresh and the texture of every single dish was mushy - tasted like bad airline food. The service was even worse! I had to get up to ask for waters to be refilled after 20 minutes of not seeing any service staff, only to find the staff in the galley eating bread right from the serving bowl - standing around chatting. There were many more examples of terrible service throughout the evening. My husband and I did this dinner cruise several years ago and have such fond memories. The food, service, and ambience was wonderful...unfortunately the quality has gone downhill considerably. Fate or luck allowed my wife and I to dine here. We didn't find this restaurant on viator or Yelp etc. We didn't have reservations. We simply found it by walking down the river side very near the Eiffel Tower and asking if they have openings. We had no preconceived ideas of what to expect. This is upper class dining. This is where you go to feel like royalty. This is a once in a lifetime experience in Paris you should try. It came with a $150 per person price which we gladly paid. It was worth the cost. This river boat dinner was nothing short of 5 stars. My wife and I both chose the 4 course meal option but It was more like a 6 course meal if you count the escargot and mini appetizers we got at the beginning. We were both full at the end. Menu in the photos. The food here is exceptionally great. It was delicious and cooked to perfection. I typically never eat escargot but I liked their dish. For the meals, My wife picked one half of the menu and I chose the other half. Lots of pictures to showcase what we ate. I recommend the lobster above all the other choices. It's one of the best lobster dishes I've had in world and I've been to Maine, USA for fresh lobster before. The staff was truly perfect. This is what makes the experience special. They continually gave us the best service. They were very attentive to our needs. They were very helpful to us English speaking Americans. I was disappointed with The Yelp reviews so I have to write my thoughts. You cannot believe a single one star review. Especially from any obvious fake accounts with only one review under them. If you want a magical Parisien experience place this experience on your bucket list. The boat first set sail on the Seine a week ago. Chef Alain Ducasse owns some of favorite restaurants in Paris. When I heard they where building a "floating kitchen" I couldn't wait to have this culinary experience. Make reservations online and arrive at your scheduled arrival time on time so you can enjoy the view of the Eiffel Tower, sip Alain Ducasse champagne, and enjoy small bites. The electric boat is clean, beautiful, quiet, and there is no diesel smell. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The modern Parisian cuisine is made-to-order so you can go up the deck and enjoy the beautiful monuments of Paris at your leisure. The selected wines and food was fabulous as I expected and I wasn't disappointed. I had the 4-course menu with cold starter, hot starter, fish, dessert, a glass of champagne, three glasses of wine, mineral water, coffee, and sweets for €250 per person. My lunch included Royale de champignons de Parus, légumes de saison à la grecque, coriandre, pilée au mortier, cockpit de petit épeautre et artichauts violets, lieu jaune de ligne au naturel, marinière de coquillages, and thé finale was Paris tout chocolat au croustillant de pralin (don't skip the chocolate!). Dress code is required. I just felt for the price the service and meal would be equivalent to other Alain Ducasse restaurants such as Jules Verne on the Eiffel Tower or even Benoit. The boat is docked at Port Debilly, in the 16th, near pont d'Ilena. The boat leaves the dock at 12:45 and 20:30. The setting is magical BUT be advised that the boat does not always sail and read the fine print on reservation. In our case there was a mechanical problem and we did not move which was the whole point of having dinner onboard. we could have gone to Allard or Benoit. We were given a 55 Euro rebate for not cruising which, I feel was not enough. Some people were in jeans and t shirts.I reached out to the management to no avail except for an apology. The cuisine was fine and service good if not perfunctory. View of Eiffel Tower perfect but would have liked to have seen the rest of Paris at night along the Seine. read more
