This is a "small" mushroom pizza with cheesy garlic bread.

Maria's Pizza is one of this pizza spots in Milwaukee that my friends on the south side rave about regularly. I've been meaning to go sooner but it just never happened. During my visit they were requiring masks and not offering dine in, so call ahead and plan to take the pizza home with you. Also... make sure you have CASH (they don't take cards) - there is an ATM at the bar across the street. If you know these things ahead of time, you can plan for it (a reminder to myself, haha). I ordered a SMALL pizza... what I got was far from a small pizza. Or at least I don't know what a "standard" small is... I can't imagine what a large pizza is! I think their standard style is thin crust, I didn't look beyond that to see options, but it's right up there with Zaffiro's and Hup's. Actually... I kind of want to order Hup's and Maria's to compare the two - they're very similar from what I recall. Basically, if you find yourself on the south side of Milwaukee and have a craving for thin crust pizza, then check out Maria's!

Somehow, the new owners have managed to resurrect Maria's even better than the former! We got a pepperoni supreme and the pizza was loaded with lots of fresh veggies and it was perfectly cooked. The meat was seasoned to perfection and the pizza had the right amount of cheese. Overall this place is great, please make sure they stay going strong!

The service is always amazing here. The food is very good in my opinion. I typically like my pizza a little underdone and that's usually how it comes without asking. If you want a bit crispier you should definitely ask. The environment is a Christmas type vibe all year long. Many religious photos around and the decor has been consistent since I started going 15+ years ago. If you have people in your group that have issues getting around, the bathrooms are downstairs and there is no elevator so keep that in mind.

I'm so geek that finally Maria's it's open. After a week of re opening, I finally made it. Now i know they will get better, and I still have the same taste from the last day I had it. I know there are a few things they got fixed & I'm sure they will get better. Like the base of the pizza, some pieces I did notice were too thin than other slices & look like one side wasn't stretched enough, but beside all that I'm soooo happy they back & they added debit card as a option. I am looking forward to ordering more for my familia.

Otherworldly. Tier one pizza in Milwaukee, along with Zaffiro's, Ballistreri's, and Pizza Man.

Last few times pizza was undercooked. Very soggy in the middle and barely any cheese. For $26 it was disappointing.

I have eaten pizza from Maria's as long as I can remember, including as a small child at the other former location on Greenfield Ave.

This old school, family owned restaurant is very much a neighborhood classic that has stood the test of time. The thin crust is the perfect base for the amazingly tangy Italian sauce. The toppings are generously portioned, and the pizza (available in 12" & 14") is cut into squares, which make it all too easy to eat more! We started with the fried mushrooms and eggplant, which were very generously sized. Our table of four barely made a dent. The breading on both was great, trapping in the heat, flavors and firmness of the veggies. The eggplant especially, which in my experience can be mushy, was excellent. I loved how it was served with lemon wedges. The tartness of the lemon mixed with the zest of the marinara sauce made the eggplant something I could have eaten just by itself. The restaurant has a bar area first, then a dining room adjacent. The tables here are packed in pretty tight. We ended up at a corner table, and could bump elbows with the people sitting next to us. Still, everyone was respectful of each other's space and no issues were had. Our servers maneuvered through effortlessly and quickly.

Every time I go, I always think, "They come to take orders or simply check on us the perfect amount"--I know they want to ensure I've got everything I need but they don't feel overbearing (this is regarding servers or the bartender). Finally, I order the same thing each time: garden salad with house Italian dressing and the special pizza (sausage, mushroom, onion). Salad is crisp and the pizza is consistent--the best.

I absolutely love the fact that you can order a half potion of any pasta dish! The service was great-the staff was super friendly and accommodating. The inside was very nice and has an elegant vibe. The eggplant chips tasted great, super thin and well seasoned. I wanted to taste and feel a little more eggplant, but they were chips and followed through with the assignment! The piccante pasta is one of my favorites, and not just because chicken is included vs. an add on. The shape of the pasta is super fun and holds the sauce perfectly. The sauce is phenomenal, I normally ask for all the salt, Parmesan, red pepper, etc. up front because I'm so used to things being under-seasoned but not with this dish! It had the perfect amount of salt and spice in addition to the pasta having the ideal al dente cook to it. I highly recommend and cannot wait to go back for more!
