Best mexican we have had in years!! It is about five minutes off the freeway but worth every second! The owner is extremely nice and cooks the meals herself, the food was amazing, I had the chile verde and my husband had chile colorado! Loved everything about this place. Ate here two nights. Seating both inside the old log cabin and outside on patio. I had both the Machaca and the Chile Colorado. Pineapple and Horchata drinks were amazing. Really nice waitresses that actually take the time to talk to you. read more

What a neat find. We had been wanting Mexican for a couple of days. We pulled into our campground for the night and right there was Maria's. We both had the homemade lemonade and it was so refreshing and good. We each had a combo plate. I had a beef taco and cheese enchilada. My husband had a chili rellano and gr beef enchilada. Our new "must stop" food spot when traveling Colorado to and from California. Off the highway but worth it! Not fancy, just darn good. Pineapple drink not to be missed! Chile Relleno awesome. We read the reviews and thought we'd give it a shot as there wasn't a whole lot to choose from in Beaver and we had to stop due to our dog needing medical attention. We called ahead as suggested and Maria answered and said come on by. When we arrived there was a table waiting for us with the most delicious salsa we've had for a while! The tamales were amazing along with the ground beef tacos and rice and retried beans. Me, my wife and son all shared the lime-ade in a frosty sugar rimed glass that was do refreshing! Had dinner here last night with my husband and 2 young grandsons. It was difficult to find, very quaint and attached to a camp ground. But VERY well worth the effort! Service was amazing! Super cut ambiance, food was spectacular! Almost felt like you were visiting a relative. Everyone was very nice and friendly. Super cute atmosphere. Staff was very solicitous to our 4 and 6 year olds! Best Mexican food I've ever had! Authentic and delicious! Very intimate, so get there early, but sooooo worth it! Maybe their vegetarian items aren't as good as their meaty items, but I'm not sure what all the excitement is about. The free chips are salsa were very good, but the main fare was just okay. I might not have been as disappointed if we hadn't had to wait 45 minutes for a table. The service was good and the decor is fun, especially for kids, but I think we'll try someplace else the next time we're passing through. read more

Excellent food, hubby had 2 HUGE chili rellenos, he likes them with no sauce & wrapped in a tortilla (the true Mexican way-his Mom use to make). He brought one back to our RV, too much to eat in one sitting. I had the enchilada & chili relleno combo, very very good, the beans & rice tasted home made, as they should. The salsa she makes is wonderful, very much like my hubby makes at home. Atmosphere is great, log house, clean and great wood stove in the middle of the place. Too bad we can't take her back to Prescott with us. Worth going out of your way, a bit hard to find, open 4-9 pm everyday. Yes, lemonade is great & so is the Horchata! read more

The food was very good but the worst service I have ever had in a restaurant. There were nine of us 2 of which were small children we waited 30 minutes to be seated not a problem but once we were seated it took 15 minutes before our waitress even acknowledged we were there and asked for our order. Once the order was in the food came quickly and was very good! We were not acknowledged again from our waitress again ( no checking on us to see if the food was ok no checking to see if we needed refills etc) until my husband went to find her to let her know we were ready for our check and needed to go boxes! They only had one other table who was checked on 4 times from our waitress and I believe 2 tables outside. This is a very small restaurant and no reason we should have been ignored the way we were! Very poor service! My family has been in the restaurant business and it takes a lot for me to give a bad review to fellow restaurants but there was no excuse for the service! read more

Yum! Other yelp reviews lead us here on our way through town. It was a little odd/cool that Maria's is at a campground. The inside is tiny. They were slammed when we got there but they got us in fast. Prices are great. Our family of 6 spent less than $36. We will for sure come back on our next trip through town! read more

Just looking back at where we stayed last year and noticed this terrible review for the campground we really enjoyed. Don't know who this woman talked to but we dealt with a woman and had a great experience. Called from the road and she said come on over, we'll get you a spot. It was roomy and had full hook ups, shade trees but still had good satellite reception. The Mexican restaurant on the premises was to die for and we ate there every night! Even got to go enchiladas to put in our freezer. We will go back again just for that restaurant! People were very friendly in the permanent sites. Nice little town and a decent drive to Bryce Canyon which was our destination....just didn't want to take the RV all the way to the park. read more

RUDE! RUDE! RUDE! I called to book a reservation with this campground and the guy answers the phone, "Campground" I say " is this Beaver Canyon Campground?" He says, "Yea". I ask if I can make a reservation for the following Friday. He says "we don't take no reservations". I ask, "can you tell me what you think the chances of us getting a spot that night". He says, can't do it, and that's the way it is". Just plain rude. I looked elsewhere, where I could make a reservation and be assured that when I pull in there at 9:00 at night, tired and wanting to just hook up and go to bed, that I won't be turned away because they don't have a spot for me. read more

This is truly a gem in the middle of nowhere (Beaver is quite the small town). My friends and I stopped by looking for something tasty for lunch. We came out absolutely stuffed and incredibly happy with our food selection! The staff is super friendly, the food is great and plentiful and you have to try the Mexican pineapple drink! The decor is funky and cool and the outside campground gives plenty of photo opportunities. Highly recommended and not too far from SLC if you're on your way there. read more

A wonderful place. Real country- great decor inside and out. Well hidden but a must visit place if you are anywhere near the area. Food was great and very fast service. What a delight--read the earlier Yelp reviews while driving north on I-15 and called to see what time she opened (it was about 11 a.m. then) and she said she would open early on that Sunday. So we had fabulous Mexican lunch: the salsa and entrees were better than any experienced for a long time. Maria is delightful and friendly. We look forward to returning -- it is so much better than the KanKan and other such places along the freeway. Take the detour for mile or so and you will be overjoyed you did so. read more
