I was doing everything I could to still make it to my appointment and expected to be only about five minutes past the grace period. I was even willing to shorten my service to just the Brazilian wax, without the mask, so I could still be seen, and I was willing to pay the full service price with no discount. Unfortunately, the receptionist was not willing to accommodate this. I also asked if I could speak with a manager and was told to email, but that management would not be reaching out to me. I was charged a $40 missed appointment fee, so I emailed management to explain the situation and request that the fee be refunded as a one-time courtesy. Berlyn Ramirez, the founder, responded that she would look into the matter and get back to me. I provided the requested screenshots of my calls. Since then, I have followed up twice requesting a status update and have still received no response. I completely understand having appointment policies and late fees, but I'm disappointed by the lack of communication and follow-through after I made several attempts to resolve the issue directly. I'm normally very punctual and was genuinely trying to make it to my appointment despite an unexpected situation. I would have preferred to resolve this privately, but after multiple attempts to follow up without receiving a response, I feel it's important to share my experience.

During the appointment, the wax specialist appeared to notice some of the missed hairs and began tweezing them, which became so painful that I had to ask her to stop. I understand that no service is always going to be absolutely perfect, but for the amount I paid, I expected the Brazilian wax to actually be completed and checked thoroughly before I left. I also have an upcoming trip and do not have the time to make another trip back to the location just to have a service corrected that should have been done properly the first time. What made the experience even more disappointing was that I contacted the location afterward to explain what happened and give them the opportunity to make it right, and I felt that nothing was offered to resolve the situation. I wasn't expecting anything unreasonable-- even a partial refund, credit, or some acknowledgment of the incomplete service would have gone a long way. We walked into EWC on a whim in the hopes of snagging an eyebrow appointment and was super duper happy we were able to do just that! Since our impromptu appointments were back to back, we shared a room and were both treated by the lovely Leticia. First up was me, I laid on the table and told her I just wanted things cleaned up and she immediately got to work. 3 minutes later and I looked a bit more polished and pristine with my clean eyebrows. Then she took care of my bff who added on an upper lip wax. We both were super happy with our results. Leticia was amazing and super knowledgable! This girl knew her stuff and she is beloved as well (we noticed someone a little bummed that they couldn't get an appointment with her...so you know she's just that good) she told us how to properly fill in our brows and little factoids about our arches. We all laughed and had a ball for the 20 minutes we got our waxes. Lovely little experience at EWC! Friends who wax together, stay friends forever!
