I love supporting small businesses especially the impact they endured during COVID. I desperately needed an eyebrow wax because I had an event that night. Everyone was booked, omg it's literally a 15 minutes appt. I had a hair appt down the street, I walked in Sashay thinking I would book after my hair appt. I asked for an eyebrow wax, the owner said they only do threading. I have never done threading before, she persuaded me to try and was able to take me right away. It's taken me a while to write this review Bc I honestly hate writing bad ones. But I had a Brazilian wax here a few weeks ago and it was possibly the worst experience I've had. It pains me to write this Bc the technician who waxed me was such a sweet person. However, I was in so much pain & my "area" looked as though it was 90 years old and just got the sh*t beaten out of out it.... For four days. For FOUR days afterwards I was still swollen and in pain lol (and I was no where near my time of the month so my skin wasn't even in sensitive mode). She used both hard and soft wax (I do believe it's well known to only use hard wax for sensitive areas). She used the soft wax with strips on the upper area & kept going over the same spots 2, 3x. She never pulled the skin in the opposite direction while she was ripping the strips off either (something I also thought was well known to do when waxing - for less pain). So, I did it myself (no big deal there though). On top of that, once finished, she was getting ready to walk out the door and I could feel that there was still wax on my labia... like, connecting parts of the labia to other areas... so uncomfortable. I started picking at it and she realized what I was doing and then helped me get the rest off. Not sure how she could've missed it to begin with, though, as there were a few obvious globs of leftover wax on there... I asked for the hand mirror at that end and she gave it to me and left. There were so many small patches of hair that could've easily been taken off (especially considering how many times she went over the same areas ). Lastly, there were no head pillows on the table which was super weird to me & very uncomfortable. Inside the room there was a chair with a pillow & just as I was about to ask to use it, another technician grabbed to use for her costumer... safe to assume none of the tables have a head pillow. Bizarre to me as I have never been to a waxing salon that didn't have them. Seems essential? Anyway, the employees were super nice but I will just never ever go back there read more

She was very down to earth, kind, transparent, super easy to talk to. So before we even met, I changed my appointment more than a few times. I can't believe I've been going to Mistey for 2 years and this is my first review. I was referred to Mistey by not 1 but 3 of my sisters. I initially started getting waxed because I cut my nailed on a rushed shaving job. That blunder allowed me to make one of the best decisions I made when came to my beauty treatment. She is gentle and courteous and flexible. She's always smiling and not once in the time I've been going have I ever been able to tell if she's having a bad day.
