Oh my gosh, Daylyn made me feel so safe and comfortable right off the bat, from the very moment she greeted me. She is one of the coolest people I ever met, and so professional and great at what she does, you can tell she cares about her clients and this shows in how safe she makes you feel once you are in that room and completely vulnerable. I was expecting PAIN, because it's been a while since I shaved or sugared ... a while, like Chewbacca status. Daylyn and I immediately connected she is so intentional about it too, to where I was completely distracted and forgot about it completely, it was so fast, and I didn't feel any pain at all. This was a seamless, easy, comfortable experience and I can't recommend Daylyn enough, she was incredible, and I look forward to seeing her again. Fantastic spot! The two employees that I encountered were wonderful, my sugarist Stephanie was knowledgable and made me feel very comfortable as I was nervous for my first sugar experience. The front desk staff were warm & friendly, and Daylyn is always so awesome to have an appointment with. SugaringLA is the first place I discovered sugaring and that was about 6 years ago now. I go back and forth to the Santa Monica & West Hollywood location. I'm giving this a 2 start because there are 2 sugarist I really like there & they take care of me well. However, the reason I gave a 2 star: I went in for a usual brazilian and half legs. The girl I had.... let me tell you, my crease in my pelvic area is little ripped up and my legs have a couple of bruises. Hair pulling is never a pleasant experience... but this is the first time it REALLY hurt. The girl I had needs to brush up on technique & put less pressure when sugaring... it was like a deep tissue massage level hard. Again, 6 years i've been sugared and i've never gone through this. read more

Shana is my GIRL!!! She does my brazilians perfect every time. This is definitely the least painful wax I've ever had, and Shana goes back over spots that need it and tweezes the ingrowns. The only thing that sucks about this location is the parking, it's street only on Holloway which is actually a nightmare. Definitely give yourself an extra 10-15 minutes to find parking, other than that I'm so happy I found my new go-to place and esthetician! read more

This is my go-to sugaring spot. Alyssa is my fave. She's quick and thorough. Never a stray hair after. My skin prefers sugar to wax any day, but you also need to make sure the spot is clean and the sugarists are skilled -- and this place fits those needs! Stephanie RUINED may underarms and scarred them. DO NOT GO HERE! There are way better places than Sugaring LA. Not sure if skill depends on the person you book with, but Stephanie was very uneducated on how to sugar someone. Ive been getting sugared for two years now; I just moved to LA from San Diego and hoped to find someone just as good as my last. It has been two weeks since Stephanie sugared my armpits and my armpits are STILL recovering from the skin she ripped off of me. They are red, irritated, and itchy. Really bummed that I even tipped her for ripping my skin off. Stephanie didn't hold my extra skin when she sugared me, meaning she pulled and tugged at my skin when trying to get the hairs out. My hairs were a bit on the longer side, and she did not do any time of prep like powder or oil. I had to hold my own skin to prevent pull; to which Stephanie just said "thanks." Stephanie was supposed to do my Brazilian as well, but she put my armpits in so much pain by going over spots multiple times, I walked out. I was NOT going to let her near my cooter with that type of skill level. After my experience with Stephanie, I booked an appointment with my old sugarist in San Diego. I'd rather drive 3 hours for a good brazilian than go to Sugaring LA for a painful one. It's funny, I cried to my sugarist about my experience with Sugaring LA and she told me that she gets A LOT of customers that complain about Sugaring LA (they have some locations in San Diego). I love this space and this location. The decor is bright, chic, and intimate and I always feel a bit more jazzy when I dance through their door! Alecia is my go-to! She is sweet, professional, fast, and does excellent work. I tried sugaring because I was looking for an alternative to waxing and laser hair removal as neither had been effective for me. Since I stated sugaring, I have found that my hair HAS NOT grown back or has grown back very finely. I only need to visit every 5 to 6 weeks for maintenance.
