I had hot wax once and did not like it at all. So my most non toxic friend recommended Sugarhi to me because she has seen Sandy for sugaring for several years now. She says that her hair regrowth is so much slower and less and also finer since she has gotten sugared regularly. So I was curious, & tagged along with her to an appointment. Sandy's office was so pretty and calming, and she was so friendly! She explained to me how she makes the sugar she uses with just lemon, water & sugar, and showed me how it only sticks to the hair and not skin. I waited in her comfy waiting area for my friend to get sugared, & made my own appointment for a couple days later. When I came back for my appointment, Sandy was bubbly and made the whole time feel really fun. She has funny pics & sayings posted on her ceiling to look at when you're lying on her table haha! She gave me squeezy balls because it was my first time getting sugared, and she prepared me so I wouldn't be surprised. It was actually not as painful as I thought it would be! I also had a red light treatment - which I know is great for anti aging. My first appointment was over 2 years ago now. Just ike my friend experienced, I have noticed my regrowth has been slower and less, and the hair is finer since I have seen Sandy regularly. Parking is super easy in the lot in her building, or at one of the meters out front. It is really easy to schedule with Sandy & has she really gone out of her way to be available for me to come in. I've been a regular client of Sandy for the pass 8-9 years and I see her regularly for sugaring! Throughout these years of sugaring, my hair has substantially reduced, which is why I now do 1/2 leg vs full leg. It's been amazing what sugaring (and Sandy) have done for me. So happy with the longevity of minimal regrowth! Sometimes the hair that do come in now are so much fainter that when they do grow back, it's barely noticeable!! Unfortunately, trying to find a good esthetician who is trustworthy and professional can be a bit of a challenge at times. It is energy and time-consuming and the goal is to not have to move around so much to get a good one. I saw a very good one for three years consistently but then she moved to the Long Beach area. Normally I don't have the energy to write reviews that often, but Sandy has earned it. After a couple of hurdles here and there and swing some shady business practices elsewhere, I finally met Sandy. Sandy is a breath of fresh air. Her office smelled amazing like eucalyptus and the rooms provide privacy for clients to listen and respond back. None of that 'curtain' business where you can hear what everybody in the room is saying although there's a 'curtain' separating you from the others. The place was very clean. I did not detect any kind of foul or weird odors, as i have in other places with other professionals. Sandy was so sweet, she even gave me a free brand new bottle of water. Sandy Honored the original Brazilian price that I've paid all along for Brazilians. None of this constant 'raising the prices' bad business practices. Who needs more stress added to their plate when visiting the esthetician? Sandy seems very attentive and doesn't 'deaf-ear' me. She also never blew me off when I was trying to make an appointment. So far, very exceptional service. Seems friendly, genuine, personable, professional. She doesn't argue if you have something to say. I didn't even really feel that much pain when she sugared me, probably because she did a great job distracting me and here is something new for me at least- she gave me 2 squishy balls to squeeze during sugaring. So far so ... great! Doesn't seem demanding in any way, in fact seems very empathetic and realizes that we are the paying consumers.
