I was lucky enough to find Lisa nearly 10 years ago. I had never gotten a wax and had never even really heard of sugaring before. She helped make the process so much smoother, and I was not in nearly as much pain as I had been lead to believe. The only time I had ever gotten a traditional wax from someone else, I had the worst experience (aggressive technician, vulnerable body positions, horrible itching as the hair grew back, etc), and it just made me appreciate Lisa that much more. You are required to make an appointment and arrive on time, if not you will be turned away. I arrived on time and was immediately assisted by Lisa. Lisa was very nice and made me feel comfortable (as comfortable as you can be while having it all out there) She talked to me the entire time, which helped to distract me from the pain. I thought that the pain level was about the same as waxing and it took the same amount of time. Once the pain is over, the results are absolutely FANTASTIC! I was excited to try this place out since it's walkable, but after experiencing the costumer service I'm glad it didn't work out. I saw that there was a deal on Lifebooker. I needed a wax day of so I emailed (because no one was available to answer the phone) to see if I could squeeze in. Luckily, I was booked a 2:30 appointment. All is well! Right before my gym class I emailed them asking if there's anything I should do/not do before going because it was my first time. I also told them I'd be using lifebooker ( you just needed the certificate- Lifebooker would not take appointments online). I get out of my class only to find that my appointed was CANCELLED!? Why would my appointment be cancelled?? OH, it's because I was going to pay a discounted price! Why go with someone with a discount when others will pay full price. Apparently, clients only matter when they pay full price. After several emails asking "why was I cancelled" and "are there anymore appointment times," I got no response. Oh well! I'm kinda glad it didn't work out, as I booked a lifebooker deal with another company and they were AMAZING. RE: Lisa's bs response Lifebooker does not matter in this situation. I emailed and booked an appointment for 2:30. There was NO request for credit card info or anything for that matter to book that time and I received an email confirmation saying that I had been booked. Upon receiving my confirmation email for my 2:30 appointment, I asked a couple questions and ALSO mentioned Lifebooker. 10 minutes later, my appointment was cancelled for absolutely no reason and NO RESPONSE since. I consider myself something of a bikini waxing connoisseur and have tried dozens of places over the years searching in vain for the "painless wax" they all promise. I had never heard of "sugaring" but was inspired to try it when I got a deal through KGB. As the service began I braced myself for the inevitable pain that was to follow (or at least an instruction to take a deep breath.) Instead we carried on a normal conversation throughout the service and I never so much as flinched. I finally decided that my voucher must only entitle me to having the sides done, as anyone who's had a brazilian wax knows its the top and bottom that hurt the most. I was disappointed but was impressed enough with the service that I had already decided to come back for the full treatment. Imagine my surprise when, upon inspecting her work, I discovered that she had given me not a brazilian, not a playboy but a FULL brazilian. My first thought: "when did that happen??" I agree with the below post that her service is horrible. After driving in traffic and being 11 minutes late, she said she was too "busy" with no one in the shop and only gives a ten minute leeway. Her rude attitude will make me never use her services. If you would like a waxing place with amazing friendly staff, cheap price (only 25 for Brazilian) and painless, I would suggest using Ruths Skincare and def avoid getting trapped into going here! I attempted to call to let her know that I was running later for the appointment; however, she failed to pick up. First of all, prior to my first visit at Sugar Me I NEVER had a bikini/Brazilian wax because I was terrified. I still flinch when I get my eyebrows waxed or threaded. Pathetic, I know. Anywho, I decided to try the sugaring method because I heard it was less painful than waxing and much more safe. Due to the great reviews on Yelp, I gave SugarMe a try as my first sugaring experience. For my first visit I booked an appointment online for bikini hair removal (baby steps). Let me tell you, Lisa talks non stop throughout the entire process...which is a great thing. It wasn't completely painless, but Lisa did a fantastic job at distracting me from what was really happening. And I was VERY pleased with the results (smooothhh, baby, smooth). My second and third time, I tried the baby Brazilian (check me out). Each time has been easier and less painful. Lisa has a wonderful personality and makes you feel very comfortable--like chatting with a long time friend. When it comes down to finding the place, it's actually not that complicated. After you book your appointment, Lisa emails you fool-proof directions on how to get to the Bungalow. Coming from a person who is absolutely horrid with directions, I mean I get lost at least once a week, I found the bungalow with no problem. New location is hard to find, poor parking. Parking garage tenant had no clue where it was located. Traffic from Santa Monica was terrible and ended up being 10 min late by the time ISA came out it was 15...she said she couldn't see me which I will find someone new closer to SM. Not to mention the last 2x I had appts imwaited 10-15min both times because she was running late. Never complained eben one of the times I had to have my friend cab it from the airport because how late it made me I wouldn't have been able to get there so to have difficulty finding it and finally getting there to not have her take my appt was dissapointing. The longest it's ever taken to get waxed was 20 min. Luckily I was able to go to Green Bliss Spa ..they were amazing so all ended well and I won't have to deal w the traffic and parking in Beverly Hills again. read more

I think most people go to Lisa to get their whoo-whoos manicured. This is a review for her amazing talent as an eyebrow genius and skin care wunderkind. I wrote a review last fall, but wanted to update it. I've been getting my eyebrows waxed since I was 13 or so because if I don't get it done every 3 weeks or so I look like a sleepy version of Groucho Marx. I've been to 2 very well reviewed places in LA (including billion dollar brows) and was only sort of happy with the end result. I have a scar on one of my brows and they're pretty asymmetrical so I thought I was just doomed to have "ehhhh" eyebrows. Cue Lisa of Sugar Me. I came to Lisa to get a birthday present for my boyfriend and asked her to throw in a brow wax too. I've never gone to anyone since. I'm so happy with her work-- she always makes me look gorgeous and she's even given me "Soap" eyebrows for an audition! She's helped other actors look and feel more like their character with this too, she's told me. But WAIT there's MORE. TWO miracles?! Nuh-uh. That's some JC waxing sh*t. But its true. Not only did Lisa perfect my features by strategically mowing my face lawn, but she prescribed a skin care regimen that has been blowing my world apart with "the awesome". My skin is taut, de-clogged, and my fine lines are fading! I didn't really believe that sh*t was possible without, like, surgery. I had a friend ask me if I had gottten Botox!! And I've had two separate makeup people squeal over my skin-- one asked if I was wearing foundation when I was barefaced because my skin was so even and borderline poreless. Lisa apparently has been using the main ingredient of this product (and no its not fetuses) for a looooong time. When she told me her actual age I was like-- ok, where is stuff and how many liens against my car do I need to take to get it?! Her skin glows. Longest. review. ever. I have been getting waxes for over 20 years. I especially love sugaring but have had a hard time finding someone who is both personable and skilled. I think every girl knows what I am talking about....quick but brusk or friendly but slow. Both are annoying. Lisa is a perfect combination of quick and friendly. Best of all on my first visit, my skin was so smooth. I usually endure a rash for a couple of hours. I highly recommend her. Also, don't give creed to the reviews from the those Groupon reviews etc..... My hope is that businesses drop groupon all together since all it does is draw cheap people who don't want to pay full price. Then these poor businesses have to endure having their reputations diminished by these same people. I have made my way through most of these reviews because after my first appointment with Lisa I wanted to know about the other AMAZING experiences people have had with her and couldn't BELIEVE that I saw anything negative. Lisa answered all my questions about the whole process of sugaring and how it's different from waxing. I found the sugaring to be a lot less painful than waxing. It's still ripping hair out, but there's no hot wax, so there's no peeling or any down time - I was actually able to bike home from my appointment! Lisa is really fun and does an excellent job! Her new salon is a little hard to find, but she gives great directions when you book an appointment, and she even has a shot of the day to soften the blow before your treatment! Her prices are very reasonable, especially compared to other salons in the area. I've seen places try to charge upwards of $100 for a brazilian, so the $60 price tag on that is pretty great.
